Born in 1946, he started his EFL career in 1968. He earned his doctorate at Teachers College, Columbia University. In 1983, he founded Instructional Design International, Inc. He has written over 40 English-as-a-foreign-language textbooks. He mostly focuses on teaching business English.

Rasa-rasanya baca buku ini, tidak bisa seperti baca novel.. harus seperti orang sakit yang tidak doyan makan, tapi dia harus makan u/memberi kekuatan. maka membaca buku ini pun, baca 2 lembar ato 5 lembar per hari ato perdua hari,,, dan harus mampu memahami tidak dengan menghafal sehingga melekat di hati, pikiran seperti materai.
