Herr Albrecht delivers.
Starts off with basics - my name is whatever and moves to where one lives. Some words are instantly recognisable probably because of my previous visits to Germany - Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Heidelberg, and the Black Forest region. Sasbachwalden.
And from comics years ago words like schnell and achtung. Simple, everyday scenarios are presented and translated and the author makes it easy to pick up essential nuggets of the German language.
