Ray Hogan (1908-1998) was born in Missouri but spent his life in New Mexico. His father was a Western marshal and lawman. He has written over 100 books. His work has been translated into 16 languages and filmed.
Good enough Western comparable to the many Louis L'Amour books I've read. The conclusion seemed to get rushed, but I understand that is something commonly expected by the publishers of the time Hogan wrote these types of books. Main character Shawn Starbuck was a decent enough fellow searching for his long lost brother, but the ending has Shawn continuing the search. Being this book #18 in a series I would guess he will continue that journey for a while. Don't know if I will ever finsd out, but I could read more Westerns by Ray Hogan with no problem.
