This was one of those books that I couldn’t put down. Sienna has entered Heartsflame Academy as a wolf shifter to find a pack and feel like she belongs to something more. Only problem, she has an ex that won’t leave her alone, a vampire who finds her intriguing, and a soon to be alpha who is her fated mate. This why chose story was steamy, but also had some interesting twists and it seems like hidden agendas that are yet to be revealed. I really enjoyed the academic setting and side characters as well as magic that is introduced throughout. I loved Misti’s writing style and had a hard time putting this story down. It gave off Zodiac Academy story vibes to me. It does end on a cliffhanger and I’m anxious to find out what happens next!

This was the authors first paranormal romance and I really enjoyed it and cannot wait for book 2. The world building was paced well and I really enjoyed the different plot points such as the rot, the Fmc’s desire to be in a pack and the dynamics of the different species in the academy wanting to find their mates to strengthen their magic.

The Heartsflame Academy… three years to find your mate and pass the tests to graduate. Despite wards and rules in place.. some will perish.

I loved how each MC has their POVs and each have their own struggles that we get to see through their eyes and the others. I really connected to all of them and found myself rooting for each of them.

Sienna and Revyn have a past together and she recently broke up with him before coming to the academy determined to graduate and become a strong potential mate. She desperately wants to be in a pack after hers was slaughtered years ago. Living in the wilds Revyn found her and they became close. He wants her as his mate and will stop at nothing to prove to her they are meant to be.

You get the forbidden aspect with Alistair. Heir to the alpha (Thaddeus) who despises Sienna. They are fated but apparently Sienna doesn’t realize it for a long time. The lush and pull between them, the angst, the jealousy.. gosh it was so good. Alistair father is deplorable! Learning about what happened with his older brother broke my heart for Alistair.

Callum… gosh I love him. The older, seductive and mysterious vampire who is determine to have Sienna as his mate. He is patient and alluring. Their connection stats as friendly but develops into much more.

This is a slow burn and burn it did! The spice 🙌🏼🔥 There is yearning and so much desire especially from the MMCs. They all have chemistry with her. There is no ⚔️ but you do get a slight MFM scene toward the end and it’s HOT as H€LL!

The three MMCs have one thing in common.. they all want her as their mate and will do anything to protect her. But she’s only allowed one mate for life right?? 👀 I really enjoy a baddie FMC 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I can’t wait to see what happens with them in the next book! This one ends in a cliffhanger that left me begging for more!

Note: I am an ARC reader. The review I've written here is my true, full opinion about the book, but will contain very *mild* spoilers about the content. I won't give anything away about the plot itself here.

This book has been an absolutely fantastic read. The way the characters interact with one another in the context of the story feels so realistic, it's like I can watch them in my head as they interact. The descriptions are so well-worded that at some points while reading it, I found myself reacting to the smells and tastes that were, after all, only on the paper. Having such a rich atmosphere is hard to accomplish, and I've only read a few books before that come even close to this level of realism within a fantasy world.

I also love just how unique rhe world itself is in this book. So many shifter and paranormal romance novels exist in an Earth untouched by magic, where humans exist and are a problem. In this book, it almost feels as if they exist on another planet from ours; one much more interesting and far more resilient. Even if the book is set on Earth, you could almost see it as creatures and characters as being hidden away, separated, or existing on their own plane away from humanity.

The author managed to do all of this in under 400 pages, and it didn't feel rushed at all. The pacing was perfectly done, and while the book is clearly the first in a series and therefore prone to having unfinished business left, I find it doesn't detract from how well planned this feels. It gives you just enough story to keep you addicted without leaving you feeling like you've been robbed.

The spice level in this book is a bit hotter than I expected it to be, but that's not a bad thing. While some people may not see the appeal of a story where the FMC isn't a virgin, I find that having characters with a history reads as *far* more interesting. The angst that is caused by the characters having history is absolutely exquisite, and I love how raw and emotional it felt. I was actually crying for parts of it, and am left absolutely *tingling* with anticipation.

Overall, I would highly recommend this read if you're looking for something a little bit different, and I'm looking forward to reading the second book when it eventually comes out!

I seriously loved this one! I’m a huge fan of Misti and have read almost everything she’s written, but this is easily my favorite book from her so far. Paranormal why choose stories are easily one of my favorites, but add an academy setting, hidden secrets, betrayal, angst, yearning, and fated mates? I was completely obsessed from the very first page.

The characters were one of my favorite parts of this book because they all felt so distinct and well-developed. Sienna is fierce, driven, and determined to prove she’s worthy of more than just being someone’s mate. Watching her fight to earn her place while also discovering she’s a hybrid with mysterious powers made her such a compelling main character. And Revyn? Absolutely adored him. The way he loves Sienna so fiercely and has always stood by her side melted my heart. He would do anything for her, and honestly, he might be my favorite of the guys. Alistair brought so much tension with the fated mate bond he didn’t want but couldn’t ignore, while Callum played the patient, calculating long game and kept me constantly intrigued.

The world-building was incredible too. The descriptions made everything feel vivid and magical — from the frozen lake to the glowing meadow at sunrise, the battles, the statues… I could picture every detail so clearly in my head.

My only complaint is that ending! That cliffhanger was brutal, and now I’m stuck desperately needing answers. I have so many questions and absolutely cannot wait to see where this story goes next.

so this was a lot more angsty than i was expecting… AND THANK GOD FOR THAT!

sienna just wants a goddamn pack and poor girl has a lot more to deal with just a desire to belong lol she has to navigate mate politics, pack politics, academy politics and a shit ton of selfdoubt.

the guys are very distinctive from one another and all make you swoon in different ways… so it makes it hard for you to pick a favorite. they are also fucking idiots, so you love them and you wanna punch them at times.

the angst makes everything so much better cause there really isn’t one specific person to blame, but everyone involved 😃 the miscommunication is STRONG in this one and every single main character is a stubborn fuck, so be prepared to wanna strangle them every now and then…

this book is more focused on the relationship aspects than the academy per se, which isn’t bad in my opinion… we do see some classes and games happening, but i am hoping to get a better understanding of the world building, like the school, the different type of supes, the council for different species etc. bc i feel like it adds to the story and helps me understand all the context around the main characters (their background is something i’m salivating for as well, especially revyn)

all in all, i really enjoyed reading this (did it in one sitting) and i’m intrigued to see how the book will pick up after that ending… which needs a lot of explaining, btw!!

Talk about a whirlwind that spins you so fast you barely know which way is up. This book had me completely hooked from the very first page and hanging on for dear life until the end. Every chapter cranked the tension higher and now I need book two immediately because that ending? Criminal. 🔥

Sienna is that girl. A total badass who has survived more than anyone should ever have to, yet she still keeps fighting. Watching her navigate everything thrown at her had me rooting for her nonstop because you just know something massive is waiting ahead for her story.

And Revyn… whew. The love and devotion that man has for Sienna is absolutely unmatched. It’s intense, protective, consuming in the best way possible, but the secrets kept hidden between them cut the deepest. You could feel every ounce of hurt, longing, and tension bleeding off the pages.

Then there’s Callum, the Ivory God himself. Smooth, sensual, and impossible to ignore. And don’t even get me started on Alistair because the friction between him and Sienna? That tension was practically sparking flames off the page. At this point just make it official already because I am suffering over here waiting for more. 😩

This book delivered on the paranormal academy vibes, the slow burn, the tension, the emotions, and the chaos all wrapped into one addictive ride. Once I started, there was no putting it down. Absolute binge-worthy read.

ARC Review:

This book just sucked you right into the story. I literally cannot wait for the second book. I ran to the author's page and Goodreads just to see the estimated release date. The story was well-paced and developed, and it brings you into the world without giving much away. It allows the reader to learn about this academy, the other species, and the main female character.

Sienna has such inner strength, fueled by her past traumas and her hopes. She dreams of having a pack as her parents did, but unfortunately, the world is against her because of her nature. She comes to the academy for a new beginning, but a past relationship, a stalker, and a fated mate are chasing her.

Revyn is enamored by Sienna and overprotective of her. She is his reason for living. I absolutely adore Callum, the way he is so patient and caring. I love the way he antagonizes Revyn on purpose, and don’t get me wrong, Revyn is cocky in his own way. The way both of them end up working together in order to keep Sienna safe gives me hope that they will learn to be a true team. Alistair deserves an ass-whooping, but hopefully, he will learn from his stubbornness and mistakes and redeem himself.

And let me tell you, the bathtub scene, chef's kiss. Ten out of ten.

Romantic tension, academy chaos, and addictive supernatural drama. Wild Mate by Misti Wilds is a chaotic, addictive paranormal academy romance packed with dangerous magic, fated mates, hidden powers, and nonstop emotional tension.

From the opening chapters, the story throws readers into a brutal world where survival means trusting the very people who could destroy you. The FMC’s isolation after losing her pack gives the story an emotional edge, while Heartsflame Academy creates the perfect setting for rivalries, secrets, and supernatural chaos.

The romance dynamics are one of the strongest parts of the book. Between the hostile fated mate, the emotionally complicated ex, and the dangerously charming vampire, the tension never slows down. Each relationship adds a different emotional layer, making the romantic conflict feel messy, intense, and impossible to ignore.

This world!

Sienna always wanted a pack after hers was destroyed, and she was the only survivor. After traveling the wilds for a decade with Revyn, Sienna went on her own to enter the Heartsflame Academy to become the top student and be accepted into a pack. There she meets Alistair, her fated mate, and Callum, a vampire who also wants to mate with her. Revyn also shows up wanting another chance, as well as Sienna’s mate. Something's different about Sienna besides the fact that she’s a hybrid and Alistair’s father wants her eliminated. Just as decisions about mating are starting to take shape, this book ends on a cliffhanger.

This is book one of a duet and leaves a lot of questions up in the air.

Poor Sienna! She just wants to be accepted somewhere with a pack, and no one seems to want her based on her lineage. I do wonder how much Alistair’s father had to do with the original end of Sienna’s pack as opposed to what he tried to do now. It will be interesting to see what mating with two or three will do to Sienna’s powers and how it will affect the others as well. I also can’t wait to learn what Alistair learns from the records he demanded and to see what his father and other Alphas have been up to.

Then honestly this books for you!
I was so shocked and how much i loved this one, it had me intrigued from the moment i started reading. I found the world building was well paced and easy to grasp. Having the plot based around the Fmcs need to be in a pack whilst adding all the dynamics of the different species in the academy made it quick reading.

And i mean with a line up like that what isnt to love.

The angst throughout this book was really good. And created so much tension but also leaving you needing more because theres 3 guys to fawn over. Although If miscommunication isn’t your jam then be warned, it’s quite heavily placed throughout this one.

Overall i really enjoyed this one, i do wish that were was some more focus on the academy, but this is only book 1. So there is room to find out more. And with that ended i need to know more!!! What a cliff hanger

Without giving away the story, I will say: I love how Misti Wilds changed up the usual Academy trope intro—Stepping into the story, directly into a crowd of hopeful students, created the first of many layers of action, suspense, and drama to come. Oooo, and the sexual tension, LOTS of that, too 🫦 The characters are well-fleshed & likable, story is well written, and WILD MATE definitely serves as a solid foundation for the rest of the HEARTSFLAME ACADEMY series.

This book was SO good. I started it Monday morning and genuinely could not put it down. I stayed up until 1 AM finishing it even though I had work the next day after a holiday weekend, and honestly? It was completely worth it. Even when I had to set it down, I couldn’t stop thinking about it until I could pick it back up again.

The writing was great, but the plot is what absolutely hooked me and kept me glued to every page. I’m usually not a huge why choose reader, but the way this story was written and how everything played out made me not even care — I was fully invested. The vibes, the tension, the pacing… it was all so enthralling.

And the FMC? An absolute badass, which I will always love. The romance and love between the characters was done so well too, even if there’s one character I’m personally not rooting for her to end up with. But to each their own!

That cliffhanger though?? I NEED book 2 immediately. I’m going to be thinking about this story for a long time, and I can only hope this author blesses me with an ARC for the next one.

Wild Mate pulled me in from the very first page and kept me hooked the entire time. This was such an enjoyable, spicy paranormal why choose romance. It was well paced, easy to follow, with great characters and strong writing throughout.

The world building was fantastic. I loved the academy setting and all the paranormal elements woven into the story. The shifters, vampires, fae, witches, and magic all came together perfectly to create an addictive read.

SIENNA AND HER MEN ARE ABSOLUTE CHEF’S KISS!!

Sienna is an incredible FMC — a fierce hybrid wild wolf. Revyn is the loyal wild wolf shifter with a deep shared history with her. Callum is the mysterious, seductive vampire, and Alistair is the future Alpha wolf and her frustrating fated mate. The angst, tension, secrets, and relationship dynamics kept me completely invested.

That ending though! Now I desperately need the next book. This was an amazing start to the Heartsflame Academy series that I would definitely recommend.

I can't even tell you how excited I was to receive this ARC.

If you are like me and you love your fantasy with an academic setting, magic, different species than just humans AND multiple MMCs, this book is for you. Guys in this book? Chef's kiss. We got an ex-boyfriend wild wolf-shifter, we got a fated mate future Alpha wolf of a prominent pack and we got a mysterious vampire who says everything a girl wants to hear. And than we have her - the FMC.

Sienna is desperate to belong, desperate for family, but at the same time, she does not want a mate. I'll admit, that does not make much sense to me. Her decisions are sometimes hard to understand and she hurts people around her with them. Our girl is a bit stubborn so there might be times when you'll want to throw the book out of your window.

The story is engaging though and it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so be prepared to yearn to know what happens next.

I loved the premise of this book and the unique academic setting, an academy to find/pick your mate? Sign me up please and thank you!

Sienna just wants to belong somewhere, wanting to belong to a pack. Determined to get her pick of shifter packs, she enrolled at Heartsflame Academy ready to prove she is the top shifter. What she didnt sign up for was 3 mates, determined to make her theirs.

While I very much enjoyed the story and the build up of the various relationships, I just felt it was hard to keep up with the timeline, sometimes finding myself a little confused on how we went from point a to point b. But I still loved the journey there, leaving off with quite the cliffhanger to keep me wanting more! Excited to see how Sienna's story continues!

Wild Mate is the shifter/vamp/witch series you are looking for. This pace was fast and kept the pages turning, definitely one of those ones you shouldn't start late at night unless you want to watch the sunrise. The FMC Sienna is a mystery she has secrets and some it would seem even from herself. We have 3 MMC and they all are a little something different. I don't know which I want to root for it depends one the chapter. Technically I think this is a why choose but that doesn't really feel adequate to explain all the different emotions and longings. There is not yet a HEA and it ends on a cliffhanger. My only complaint for this book would be that I don't have the second one to read yet. The author has me hooked and ready for more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read and all the emotions it carried with it. There's much to learn about this school. Sienna arrives to find to find protect within the schools wards. She unwantedly ends up bumping into her ex Revyn. They got a long history. Lies have been between them and Revyn continues to make unwise choices with his judgment clouded by his need for her. Callum's intentions are quite clear but what more can you expect from a vampire. They always seem to give you just enough to catch your interest but never truly tell you the end goal. Alistair is searching for his true mate and due to family history and lies needed to be unraveled the future isn't quite clear for anyone. I'm excited to read the next book.

Loved this! I need book 2 ASAP- such a well written story. Sienna is such a strong FMC and she is just trying to do what’s best for everyone without hurting others. No matter what she will hurt someone and she is coming to realize that towards the end. I love Callum always being there for her even when he could be in harms way. Reyven is so sweet to her and I hope the rot leaves him so he can be happy. Alistair is Alistair I feel like he has so much pressure on him from his dad that he is just trying to get through when Si shows up. I hope a lot of truth will be revealed and they can all have a happy ending…but we will find out how this awesome author will keep these characters going in HEAT MATE!

I devoured this one fast and couldn’t stop. From the very beginning, there’s already so much going on and it’s exactly how I like my fantasy books. I enjoyed the world building, the characters, and the action so much. Plus points for the love triangle—wait? What do we call one with four members? Love quad? I don’t know. 🤣 But I’m here for it.

I need to know more about FMC’s true mating bond because I feel like there’s more to it now especially after THAT ending. 👀 I wanna know if her true mate will eventually learn the truth about who killed whom and why. I have so many questions and I can’t wait for the second book!

ARC Review

This book had me hooked. I love books that take place in academies and mixed with paranormal/supernatural, I just knew i had to read this book.

Sienna is a strong FMC, who has been through a lot and survived. We can see how her past has shaped her character and what kind of stress she undergoes while at the academy.

The MMCs were okay, i feel like they were barely touched through this book so maybe hopefully in the next book we get to see what shaped these men into the people they are now. But so far my favourite is Callum.

I was so sad that the book ended on that cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next. Hopefully it will come out soon

This one has a cliffhanger so let me forewarn you!! However, if you are an avid reader of this author that should not surprise you. One thing I can promise you is that you will never be disappointed in the end.
I loved how each of Sienna's men kinda had their own tropes inside the main why choose.

This is the most invested in a shifter romance I’ve been in ages.
I loved most of the characters, but especially Revyn and Callum. Sienna’s behaviour irked me, especially about Revyn and I wanted to punch Alistair for being a cockwomble.
I loved Callum’s torment of Revyn and how he schemed to make Sienna his mate.
Revyn and Sienna made me want to cry, he couldn’t give her what she needed and the only thing he needed was her.
Oh my heart is breaking 💔💔
So many questions that I need answers to, my brain is ready to explode.
Book 2 can’t come soon enough!

Now this is how you write a story. The world building was amazing, and the description and detail was so good. I love a book that is written so well it plays out in your mind while you read. Sienna was fierce. And those men 🥵 all waving her but trying to set her free at the same time. The way this pulled me in and kept me turning the pages…I was invested in these four. And the fact she didn’t have to choose? That’s a win. This was an absolutely amazing read. Had me invested from beginning to end.

Academy, enemies to lovers, mates, vampires, shifters, and more...
Once I started reading I became committed until the end. This book had a few twists and turns, magic, danger, drama, tension, and angst.

I loved Sienna. She is a survivor and fighter. We have so much more to discover about her past and what she is.
Revyn, Callum, and Alistair. I loved her men too. They are each so unique, but all want Sienna.

I think this was an excellent beginning to Sienna's story!! I cant wait to find what happens next!!

I absolutely was taken in by this book. Our FMC, Sienna, is trying to find her spot in the world after having lost her pack. We initially get to meet Revyn who was working with Sienna to find a pack that they can join but he breaks her trust and now she's enrolling into Heartsflame. What she did not see coming was Allistair or Callum. I loved the tension these three provided for Sienna. Love that she also found friendship in Gemma. But OMG that ending!!! I am on the edge of my seat for book 2.

Omgggg!!! When I say I devoured this, I mean I ignored all adult responsibilities and just read! Completely hooked, and wanting to know what was going to happen! This one is a slower burn, but the bath, I was so ready for that. Why chose romance with so much drama and they are all fated but are also fighting it! The cliffhanger!!!! Omg the cliffhanger, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

Mate or Die

Omg this book is insanely phenomenal! Sierra is an enigma all of her own. There are so many things going on that you can't help but eat the words up at an inhuman rate. I swear I was screaming at the end! Book 2 will be even crazier I just know it. I've been low-key shouting at these characters the whole time! You want a book that is going to have you up in your feelings, while you try to figure out what's what? Then look no further this is it!
