This is the second of five books in the "50 Day Bible Challenge" series, an excellent way to read the four Gospels and the Book of Acts in a thoughtful, contemplative way without expending a huge amount of time.

The 16 chapters of the Gospel According to Mark are divided into 50 daily readings, each of which is followed by a short reflection, a thought-provoking question or two and a prayer. The reflections, questions, and prayers are written by leading Anglicans worldwide—from vicars to bishops—and offer inspiring and intriguing interpretations on the day's selection.

Each day's reading takes about five minutes, making this an accessible spiritual discipline for even the busiest among us.

This was a solid and scholarly day by day book in which you read and reflect on the book of Mark over a 50 day period. It asks you to pray and discern what the passages mean for your life, rather than focusing on Biblical history or questions of biblical interpretation. I read it through the season of Epiphany and found it to be helpful in my faith journalling.

A decent devotional, you don’t often see one with Mark as the focus. There’s usually about a page of scripture and then a page of commentary. Mark is the shortest of the Gospels so you don’t get the long readings as you do in some of the other books in this series. Easy to do a chapter in 5-10 minutes

Great for a book study group and deeper knowledge of the Bible.
