Claimed by the Warlord: A Spicy Monster Romance Short Read

Rate this book
She crossed the border expecting death. She found something far more dangerous.

Kira has spent her whole life following the rules. Keep your head down. Don't draw attention. Survive. But when her father sells her to a cruel merchant to pay his debts, she makes a desperate choice—she flees into orc territory, where humans are claimed as property.

Death would be a mercy compared to the alternative.

Instead, she finds him.

Rakkan has ruled the Northern Reach for two hundred years. Cold. Brutal. Alone. He'd made peace with never finding a mate—until a human woman with fire in her eyes walks into his great hall and the ancient bond roars to life.

She's everything he shouldn't want. Fragile. Forbidden. Human.

He's going to keep her anyway.

But claiming Kira makes her a target. Rakkan's enemies see her as a weakness to exploit, and one rival will stop at nothing to destroy her—and the warlord foolish enough to love her.

Kira survived one monster in human skin. Now she must decide if she's willing to belong to a monster who makes no apologies for what he is.

He'll burn down the world to protect her. She just has to let him.

This was my second attempt at monster romance and I will say it was written well but I do wish the author had found more words then “The great hall had been transformed” or “you can not stay with me every moment” and him responding with “I will, Watch me”
