Definitely the least well-done of the Alissa series. I think what ruined it for me was that the main conflict was ENTIRELY Alissa's fault--and even then there weren't any stakes for HER, but she did nearly ruin someone else's life. And you know that even if she completely fails, Balin WILL step in to fix it eventually.

This was my favorite Alissa book. I liked that it wasn't a mystery like all the others. I decided I don't like Alissa much though since she's foolish and doesn't think things through. I liked how lia was much smarter.
