CloudBurst: A Tale of Love and Obsession in Hollywood
17-year-old Josh Frost glimpses 32-year-old married Douglas Pepper in the showers at his father’s country club and that encounter rules Josh’s imagination for the next 10 years. A chance meeting with Douglas sparks a red hot chemistry between the two men who begin a clandestine and dangerous affair made more volatile as Douglas works as a talent lawyer for a successful film production company owned by Josh’s father, Kyle.
When Josh also starts working for Canyon Rock, his and Douglas’s sexual chemistry threatens their careers, family relations and Douglas’s marriage to the smart, dynamic Lynne, who suspects her husband desires the handsome young man. Complicating matters, Douglas and Lynne’s college-age son, Brandon, comes out and it’s Lynne who accepts him while Douglas has discomfort with his son’s open sexuality.
Now 27, Josh is an out gay man accepted by family and friends including his adoring gay cousin, Travis. Closeted Douglas is finally able to live out his erotic fantasies but his obsession with Josh leads to perilous behavior and risky decisions that change both their lives forever.

Talk about a steamy read! Wow this book didn't go where I expected - it covers the clandestine affair between two men who are different ages and races, one married to a dynamic intelligent woman who knows something is up. All of it is set against the machinations of Hollywood and a film production co. through a major studio. I really enjoyed the love story of Josh and Douglas and their family dynamics which felt compelling and true. There is so much going on with this book - highly recommend.
