Arthur Ridge’s dreams of a good life were ripped away when he was handed a gun and sent off to war. He returned a broken man, unable to care for himself and the family he loved. For fifty years, he did the work. He made a change. Now… is all hope still lost?
Stacy Parker certainly doesn’t think so. But while she’s promised to help right a wrong from five decades ago, she also has her hands full in the present. Navigating a new town, new friendships, and a new relationship would be enough to make anyone’s head spin, but add in a frivolous lawsuit from her ex-husband’s affair partner and she’s about to spin right off the planet.

As a single mother and a business owner, she’s had to learn to rise above a tragic childhood and make a life for her and her son. Tensions are heating up on the island, but one thing is for the sun always rises over Sunflower Beach.
Lose yourself in the saltwater days and firefly nights of Sunflower Beach, where a cast of unforgettable characters help each other navigate love and loss, hope and heartache, found family, and second chances. This romantic women’s fiction series is suitable for all ages, and is best read in order.
This is somewhat of a slow book with many things with many people going on and since there needs to be room for building stories for all that, another book was written.
Contained in this book: Stacy continues the battle with Evette in the form of a lawsuit and public apology. Arthur mopes and is hostile towards Stacy and refuses to accept her help. She decides to look for a different home on the island to rent. Stacy and Joel talk to Menzies about something important. The Silver Lining Society accepts a new member. Tessa has two surprise visitors... not a good surprise by either person. Layla harbors hate toward an author.
I'm sure there is something else, but i .... Oh! Stacy gets a surprise visitor... then another - one of them is a great surprise, but the other person does something so shocking that I'm sure Stacy's head will explode!
Stay tuned for the continuation of the drama in book 3. This book left many topics unanswered. However, book 3 may open with Stacy lying in the floor, face the color of a beet.
One book after another and it always ends with a cliffhanger to get the readers to spend more money. The books are well written but dragged out a bit. Finally ended the shrimp thingy. It’s realistic how vets return home broken and society nor the government couldn’t care less. Pathetic.
I enjoyed this book and am only disappointed that I have to wait longer than I thought for book 3. I would highly recommend. I have to say that the Vietnam War was something that was ever talked about. So the way the book played that part out really didn’t surprise me. It was very different back then versus what the military does now.
Mia has wound a beautiful story of many lives with different outcomes. Strong women with difficult situations and challenges. The Veteran story is so poignant yet true to heart. Can not wait to keep on reading his story. Looking forward expectantly for what is next!
How did anyone ever recover from Vietnam?? Arthur was despicable- but was he really? Could they possibly find his long-lost daughter? He finally gave them permission.
