A favourite nursery rhyme story with a new twistIn the nursery rhyme, the spider frightened Miss Muffet away. Well, not this time. The spider asks her to stay, and politely she does. And then come the two, three, four, five – bearing gifts and delicacies and decorations. But why? Find out in this riotous new paperback picture book.
The class liked this one. We read the original nursery rhyme the day before. My class learned the names of some new animals (lemur, magpie...) When we finished, we counted how many animals (and a person) were in the book all together.
I'm buying this book for my children some day. If I have children, that is, since looking after my 2- and 4-year-old cousins for a week has sort of put me off that idea...
But I loved this book! The illustrations were adorable, and the story was so sweet and funny.
Annabelle and I enjoyed this very much; it provided a good counting exercise as well as funny rhymes and introductions to various animals. Written in British English, it had some phrasing that was unfamiliar to Annabelle.
Great book for teaching numbers and memory comprehension skills. The teacher can read while interacting with the students by asking how many animals will there be next and what type of animal do you think will show up.
Little Miss Muffet is still sitting on her tuffet eating curds and whey, but along came a variety of animals with all sorts of food and decorations for a surprise. Great counting book.
