I is leaving this review in the way I think Pig would:

I has just finished reading this to my 5 year old daughter, Molly. We has loved every single word on every single page. We has laughed at the antics of Pig, Duck, Cow and The Sheeps. We even got a bit sad too. We howled with laughter when we read about the Phantom Bantams - Molly was loving the funny voice I put on (that is all I is going to say on that matter because you is needing to read the book to understand exactly what I is saying!). We is thinking that this is one of the best books for kids we has ever read and we didn't want it to end. Please, we is hoping you scribble on more pages and makes a new book!

A juvenile, silly, slops-and-fart-and-poo obsessed funny book about the farmyard adventures of a dim-witted pig - and yet one of the most emotionally touching books I've read this year. Pig is such a good-natured soul that when things go wrong - horribly wrong - and he realises it's (mostly) his fault, it's really quite heart-breaking. Poor old silly sausage. Er, not sausage. Did I say sausage? I meant poor old silly piggy.

He is back again - and trouble seems to follow him. There are a number of great new characters - the Phantom Bantams being my favourites. Not quite as good as the original, but having said that, the original was a fantastic book. No doubt I will be reading this again and again this year :)

Explosive poo, evil chickens, and one very brave Pig — The Super Amazing Adventures of Me, Pig is a gloriously grubby triumph of friendship, farmyard chaos, and flatulence-fuelled fun

Emer Stamp’s sequel to The Unbelievable Top Secret Diary of Pig is even more brilliantly bonkers than the first. Told once again through Pig’s hilariously misspelled diary entries, this instalment sees our wide-eyed, big-hearted hero face new challenges, bigger mysteries, and even more suspicious behaviour from the evil chickens. It’s a tale of loyalty, bravery, and the kind of countryside nonsense that had me wheezing with laughter — especially during the bits involving explosive poo, suspicious burps, and Duck’s no-nonsense commentary.

Pig’s voice is utterly unique — innocent, enthusiastic, and just the right amount of confused. He’s trying to make sense of a world that doesn’t always make sense back, and that’s what makes him so endearing. His best friend Duck is still gloriously blunt, and the chickens are still up to no good, with plans that may or may not involve flying contraptions and questionable science. The humour is pitch-perfect for children, but adults will find themselves snorting too — especially if, like me, they grew up in Somerset and remember the soundtrack of farm life: bleats, squelches, and the occasional suspicious noise from behind the hedge.

But beneath the silliness, there’s real heart. Pig is loyal, curious, and determined to do the right thing, even when he’s not entirely sure what that is. Emer Stamp never talks down to her readers — instead, she gives Pig space to be vulnerable, brave, and wonderfully weird. It’s a story about friendship, trust, and finding your place, even when you’re covered in mud and slightly panicked.

The illustrations, also by Stamp, are doodly, expressive, and full of energy. They feel like they’ve been scribbled straight from Pig’s imagination, adding to the diary’s authenticity and charm. The cover is bold and brilliant, with Pig front and centre, looking proud and slightly alarmed — which sums up the tone of the book beautifully. It’s the kind of cover that practically squeals “Pick me!” from the shelf.

This book is perfect for reluctant readers, animal lovers, and anyone who’s ever wondered what farm animals get up to when humans aren’t looking. It’s silly, smart, and full of surprises — a five-star romp that proves Pig’s adventures are far from over.

Are you a vegetarian farmer — because after reading this, you might just want to be.

OMG - If you have little kids, and you haven't read the series, they will love you for it if you do. But be prepared for fart and poo jokes all the way - It was hilarious. Which all probably says more about My immature humour than anything else. I promise I also have a very refined adult sense of humour too. Go ahead, read it, you know you want to.

Fantastic read! My kids loved it (12, 10 and 8 years) as it was great to read aloud once you got into the swing of things. We love the way pig talks, it suits his character and makes for a great narration, it really adds to the story.

From now on, all ducks shall be known as Quackenfloofers. My 6 and 4 year olds loved this so much they insisted I read it, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it too.
