The finale of Lore Olympus has arrived! Witness Hades and Persephone’s modern, romantic reimagining in this gorgeously illustrated, Eisner Award–winning comic—now including a never-before-seen bonus short story!
“It’s time to set things right.”
The race is on to save the Mortal Realm, but tragedy strikes when Kronos hijacks Morpheus’s body and kidnaps Hades. Now alone and unsure of the right way forward, Persephone is called to a leadership meeting of the gods, only to find that Apollo can manipulate her powers. He claims the spectacle proves that in order to save humanity she must marry him.
Before Persephone can even consider this cursed deal, Hera steps forward with a different solution: She will offer herself to Kronos in order to gain access to old Tartarus, wherein they’ll be able to destroy the titan, save their captured friends, and restore Persephone’s control over spring. Though the plan is risky, the gods agree it is the only path, and watch as the two goddesses descend into the depths to confront Kronos.
Meanwhile, Hades awakens in his worst nightmare, transported back in time—and right into his father’s clutches. Tortured and made to feel small, Hades thinks there is no way to escape until he meets the prisoner Kronos has been using to control the other gods. With the young goddess’s help, Hades finally finds the strength to face the titan. Combined with Persephone and Hera’s efforts, they are able to end Kronos’s influence over Olympus once and for all.
But Kronos is not the only danger the gods face. Apollo is revealed to be receiving aid from Olympus’s original tyrant, Ouranos, and the Primordial God has come to collect on the debt that arrogant Apollo owes him. And if Ouranos is unleashed once more, it will be the end of everything . . .
Can Hades and Persephone find their way back to each other and stop Apollo before he destroys the realms in his dangerous quest for power?

I'm not ready to say goodbye...
As I've scarcely mentioned in the past, somewhere between one post and another, writing reviews isn't always easy for me. Besides the usual struggle with english as a whole, and my inherent affliction with self-doubt, I think no mutual of mine will end up surprised if I admit that I'm an extremely anxious and harsh critic when it comes to my own voice. I re-read my reviews multiple times, at least five if not another dozen more, when something particularly doesn't seem to click. I edit them often, some end up deleted after a couple of months or so, but despite every little bad moment and hour spent wondering if anyone really finds my opinion interesting enough to read, I undoubtedly love writing.
And it's obvious that Rachel Smythe loves being an artist as well.
I know every piece of work deserves its own slice of constructive criticism. I know Lore Olympus was the talk of the hour for a good while in the past, and I'm not denying in any way that this story might be far away from both perfection and general expectations, considering its vast popularity, but. Sigh. It's 01:33am at the time I'm writing my thoughts down, I should be sleeping (no one will see this post until morning anyway), and yet - I can't, I just can't. Although I'll never admit to people who know me in real life, I'm extremely tender and emotional on the inside. Breaking my heart comes with childlike ease, and Lore Olympus did just that. It took my heart, cradled it gently, gave it a tentative caress, and then squeezed it like a freshly juiced piece of fruit. I'm in shambles. And when I'm feeling like this, I desperately need to let it out. Somehow, somewhere. Like right now.
Lore Olympus is a story about many things. A loose retelling of the myth of Hades and Persephone. A fun, partially modern spin with comedic undertones about Greek gods and their backgrounds. But most of all, Lore Olympus is a story about love. True, unconditional love. Overcoming trauma, the painful, multi-generational circle of abuse, women finding their own power and independence amongst those who try to exploit them, friendship, and last but not least: self-acceptance.
I don't even know how to approach this topic. Persephone's story is one I can't help but wish I discovered sooner. In the span of two hundred eighty chapters, this petite, pink-skinned goddess of spring with big eyes conquered my affection like no other. She's the epitome of who I always wished to be but never completely achieved. Because she's an overachiever, just like me. Mommy's daughter. Perfect, fragile little thing. Inexperienced, kind, and bubbly. But also... So full of strength. Stained by anger, tired of her golden cage, deliciously filled with wrath, and stubborn as hell. I wasn't expecting much when I saw her for the first time, no one did, but believe me when I say: Persephone's character development is a masterpiece. From a simple nobody, Kore goes through hell and back with her nails scraping harshly against the ground. Having eyes of the whole Olympus on her back, she withers, dies, and then blooms once again, growing into a dense forest, full of complexities and wild beauty. Goddess of spring. Queen of the underworld. Survivor. Friend, wife, and savior.
Her relationship with Hades is one of the most heart-wrenching love stories I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. They're just... Simply made for one another. They're soulmates, and I will not accept any opinion suggesting otherwise. Although attraction was what brought them together in the first place, Hades and Persephone aren't lovers. They're best friends, they're a family. Two pieces of a whole. Their vulnerability, mutual curiosity, respect, and healthy communication should be used as a reference for any other relationship out there. Seeing them together caused me to cry so many times, you wouldn't believe it even if I told you. There's just nothing more tender than seeing a pair of equally broken people finding salvation in each other's arms. This is how love should feel.
Also friendly reminder: Never see being used, whatever emotionally or physically, as normal. Never let someone make you feel like you shouldn't speak your mind. Never forget your own comfort and individuality as a human being. You deserve patience, healthy boundaries, devotion, and gentleness. In fact, what I'm trying to say is - we all deserve to be someone's Persephone. No matter what. It's such a simple lesson, yet so easily forgettable. I'm glad Lore Olympus ended up reminding me of my worth. As a survivor of abuse myself, I can only thank Rachel for doing so much for me with her art without even trying.
"No one is as delicate and terrifying as you."
But apart from Hades and Persephone, as I said, this is a story about women. Women who make mistakes, women used by men, women who struggle to stay afloat, women who deserve far more than being a simple accessory for their husbands. Women's strength. Lore Olympus deeply explores multiple concepts of abuse and trauma, not only from the female point of view but also from the male. Persephone deals with the aftermath of sexual abuse for the whole duration of the story. She finds acceptance in the inevitable change she had to go through, learns how to see herself not as something broken, but something strong enough to withstand a dark storm that is pain, finds the courage to share her story, and thankfully manages to separate herself from feeling tied to her abuser. But there's also Hades and his mental pain caused by Kronos, and his toxic relationship with Minthe. Or Hera and her disastrous marriage with Zeus, which causes her constant pain and disappointment, not to mention killing her slowly from the inside. Artemis, who struggles with accepting her brother's faults. Demeter, who pushes her own troubled childhood onto her daughter's independence. And many, many more. It's both beautiful and suffocating at times ♡
Let me add another but, before things turn too heavy. But.
Lore Olympus is also freaking hilarious. Genuinely. Although it speaks of my different issues, especially tied to mental health, Rachel Smythe is a damn comedian who fills her story to the brim with jokes, sexual innuendos, and disarming little details one can't help but snort at. She writes the best friendships, stupidest mishaps and knows how diffuse tension better than anyone. If you're going through a rough period, looking for something to lift you up, and perhaps leave a bitter-sweet piece of pure pain somewhere between your ribs, Hades and Persephone are the pair just for you. I can't recommend it enough, and I'm sure I will, for many months to come, to dozens of people. I love this series! Favorite read of 2026, without a doubt, sorry to all the books I'll inevitably read and end up liking as well down the line, but the number one spot has been taken.
So yeah, that's all I had to say, well - not all, but if I had to discuss every little event and detail (which would end up being a spoiler), this review would turn longer than a full-blown novel. Also, I'm still dealing with genuine grief over not being able to read more of Hades and Persephone, so pardon me for leaving the party earlier than I suspected. If you need me, I'll be sitting somewhere in the corner, crying with a cup of coffee under my nose, trying to force myself not to spend all my life savings on those beautiful, physical copies I desperately crave to own.
𑣲⋆˚࿔ p.s. Hopefully, I'll write down all the reviews I missed, because of my laziness, when I re-read this series. Maybe next year? Because I'm already liking the idea.

I wonder if this volume specifically is supposed to show the corruption of hades and persephone. Hades continues to look half like kronos. And persephone has red eyes to show the rage constantly in her
With so many plotlines throughout the series, i feel like the end was slightly rushed but it is so satisfying! What a whirlwind!
- persephone can only make things die instead of grow - Hades is calling persephone so she can listen in to a meeting she cannot be part of - Mortal world is dying, which explains the increase in souls too - Apollo continues to push hebe and Persephone under the bus - Hera stands up to kronos! - Hecate locates erebos - Persephone offers to give her powers to hades as a fertility goddess - DEMETER HAS ANOTHER CHILD!?!?!? - Hera touches demeter’s bracelet from metis and gets a vision - Confirms there was a fertility goddess between metis and persephone! - Hades disappeared in sleep dive so persephone is acting as queen - apollo tries to convince the general public that persephone must marry him to he can help control her powers - Hera is willing to sacrifice herself (as her vision showed) so persephone can enter tartaurus. Gets her affairs in order - Everyone shows up to support Persephone - dionyus has some kind of plan - Dionyus helps persephone figure out her powers - Hades created a daughter out of fire and persephone carried it - And she’s deaf! And from the future??!!!? - Hera comes back to life because she was created with the purpose of destroying kronos - Hades got to talk to his mom - Kronos is talking to hera and hades? Is he split so he can be everywhere all at once? - Turned kronos into a diamond - Apollo kidnaps Persephone as she is trying to fix the mortal realm. She turns the tides on him with the weapon he was going to use - Persephone makes Apollo feel the hurt he caused her and makes him confess to the public - Ouranos has been waiting for apollo because he needs a vessel - Helios is ouranos’s brother? - All fertility goddesses come together to help heal all of the mortal realm (gaia, the first fertility goddess). So cool to see each generation bigger than the one after - Persephone is go be in the mortal realm for 3 months and the underworld for the rest - We get an update on everyone that never got their story finished! Artemis is with the goddess of the moon!! - Hades and persephone have another daughter the same night that melinoe had her “dream”

I read this for free on webtoons but ended up buying a physical copy because the art is gorgeous. 😍
Honestly these ratings are purely based on vibes. I'm writing these reviews after finishing the entire webtoon so it's hard to pinpoint specific plots and I noted the ratings whilst reading. The story is so good I love the modern spins and twists on greek mythology and their story.
Overall great end to the volumes and series. A lot of the language was a little too much therapy-esque for me throughout the series but the story telling was really good and I loved reading about all the characters and the way they were re imagined. If you like Greek mythology you’ll appreciate this.
DISCLAIMER: I paid to read the series on webtoon (paid for no wait) so that is why I’m reviewing before the physical book is out.
I love this series. I made the mistake of reading them all at once and reviewing them after instead of reviewing in between finishing them, so my reviews may be a bit skewed.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure how the series was going to wrap up after the last volume considering in my opinion it was feeling very rushed and not given the time it deserved. I was pretty happy with the ending and was left satisfied. A lot of people I hear say the problem with this series is that it went on too long, but in reality it just had poor timing at parts. I loved Hera’s resolution and her divorce with Zeus. I loved seeing grow as a prominent storyline in the series. Also I loved the end scene where we got to see Gaia, Rhea, and Metis!!! I thought it was so sweet that Hades and Persephone flipped the whole fertility goddess thing, with Hades giving his powers to Persephone at the end. At the end of that day, there were a lot of parts that I didn’t like, but I LOVE Lore Olympus and nothing will change that.

I absolutely loved this series! I was in a reading slump for some time after work burnout but this Webtoon has rekindled my love for Greek mythology. I completed the entire series within 3 weeks while working full time (nights on call etc). I understand that this may not be the best retelling according to some especially the depiction of Apollo. I however, treated it as a work of its own standing and I adored the beautiful graphics, the funny dialogue and the genuine love between Hades and Persephone. This author has done such an amazing job. I look forward to purchasing the entire Lore Olympus collection for my shelves once I get my own flat.
Healing from abuse storylines can be really difficult, but the way Rachel wrote/illustrated this was absolutely fantastic. She did such a good job and her afterword 🥲🥲🥲 I absolutely loved this series, 5 stars, so incredible!
Also lil bubbies r so CUTE and I really appreciate her trigger warnings for this one, helped me skip the things I definitely did not want to read.
Seriously the muffled speech bubbles are so smart to show overwhelm.
When I first finished reading this on Webtoons, the end felt like it such a fast pace and I was disappointing, but haven't reread it again with distance I'm not as disappointed anymore. It still feels like certain subplots didn't get the time they deserved so there's just these disjointed pieces and too much happened offscreen but I was able to enjoy what was there more this time around.
i read this on webtoons and i lowkey felt a chasm in my heart after it finished. this webtoon really means the world to me. ESPECIALLY CHAPTER 275!!! that chapter felt like divine intervention🥹🤍
I love this series. The artwork is fantastic and I love the story. Sad that it’s the end but it was so well done. I read the whole series through webtoons. I can’t wait to see the physical copy though with the bonuses in it.
- Hera VS Kronos - Apollo is shot by a love arrow and tells everyone what he did to Kore - Kore VS Ouranos - Return of Gaia, she asks Persephone to remain 3 months of the year on the mortal realm for spring. - Coronation of Persephone - Hera is divorced

I forgot how much I loved this series. Gorgeously illustrated and a fantastic reimagining of the gods and goddesses. Picking these back up felt a little like putting on a favorite sweatshirt. I'm a bit sad it's at its end!
What a gorgeous, gorgeous ending. I’m so pleased at how satisfying this was. My breath will forever be taken by how beautiful these illustrations are Hades is SUCH A BABE!!!!!!!! As is our beautiful Persephone.
Forget Roman Empires. Lore Olympus is something I think about on the daily. 💚👌🏻
Lo sentí un poco apresurado por ser el final, pero considero que cerró bien todas las historias. Fue un final digno para una amiga que nos vio crecer al mismo tiempo que lo hacían los personajes.
