Reading Nothingness turned out to be a surprisingly beautiful experience for me. I don’t usually reach for poetry collections, but when I do, I look for something that feels genuine and emotionally meaningful and this book delivered exactly that. The poems feel deeply personal, almost like glimpsing pages from a diary filled with unspoken emotions and lingering love.
At first, the themes and imagery felt a little puzzling, almost like trying to decode something complex. But as I continued reading, everything slowly started to fall into place. The collection explores love in many forms like longing, obsession, vulnerability, and even the emptiness that remains when love becomes overwhelming. The poet uses striking metaphors and free-flowing verse to express these feelings in a way that feels intense yet beautifully simple.
Some poems stayed with me more than others, especially pieces like Prison, Mystic Lock, Salt, Two Atoms, and From My Nothingness. Despite their brevity, they carry an emotional weight that is hard to ignore. A few lines in particular perfectly capture the idea of love stretching beyond time and existence itself, leaving a lasting impression long after the book is finished.

I finished this book in one sitting and it made me experience all the longing and yearning the words held in the most gentle and calming way.
Nothingness: love poems lives upto it's title beautifully. It is a collection of poems revolving around love, yearning and devotion to a soulmate.
The poems here feel unforced, raw and coming from deep consciousness of heart. It's as if the heart itself is confessing love relentlessly to it's muse. The writing style makes you feel you are witnessing a profound madness of love yet at the same time, the feelings therein make you feel you are a part of that love. Some poems are short , some long while some may make you feel uncomfortable because it feels you are being a voyeur to someone's yearning.
The words and vocabulary used is simple and easy to comprehend but it doesn't take away it's depth. The intimacy of depth is bold and repetitive in each poem.
Some of my favourite poems were - ' Mistaken', ' Bharata ', ' sword', 'muse', ' only poem', 'truth', 'before being a lover', 'A thousand moons' ,' knowing you' , ' delusions in love ' and 'lethal art' and so on.
The book is written from the POV of a lover , writing for his muse , expressing his love and yearning through words. In some poems ,it feels as if reader is the muse while in others, it seems reader is the witness to their love.
I loved those poems that connected love and lovers to being a poem itself. They feel serene , sober and quietly sensual. Overall , a perfect read if you enjoy a poetry collection that centres around love and longing —intimate, reflective with dark depth of devotional love.

What I appreciated most is how the poet explores love in many shades, not just romance, but also vulnerability, obsession, emotional distance, and even the emptiness that sometimes follows intense feelings. It is a beautiful collection of poems. This collection looks at love in a variety of ways, including longing, obsession, vulnerability, and even the void that remains when love takes over.
I liked most of the poems but I like "Delusions of Love"; " Lips"; "Drugs of Love"; " Wanderers"; "Bathing" and many more.
Few verses that piqued me are:
🩸"And I keep telling the scholars, the layers of her heart are a lethal labyrinth, and they are going to lose everything by the time they reach the third layer, because there is no backing out."
🩸" They think they have learned it all about love, its beginning, its development, its course, and its very end."
The poet conveys these emotions in a way that feels both intense and beautifully straightforward by employing striking metaphors and free-flowing verse.

The strength of Luthra's writing is in the simplicity of the language which is accessible, but the emotion is very deep and powerful. Each poem seems like a personal confession, where the heart speaks and the mind has yet to intervene. The collection very much has a meditative quality; suggesting that love is at once the beginning and the afterlife. Distance, silence, even loss, cannot extinguish it. The free verse style allows the thoughts to flow and appears to be heartfelt that makes the reading experience genuine. This is not a melodramatic presentation of romance. It is rather a gentle, soft reflection of what it means to feel entirely, honestly. A thoughtful and heartwarming collection for readers who value emotional truth over poetic display.

I finished reading Nothingness, and it was such a beautiful experience. I usually don’t read poetry books much, but when I do, I make sure to pick ones that feel meaningful to me and this one truly was.
Most of the poems felt deeply personal, almost as if I was reading someone’s unsent love letters. At first, I’m not going to lie, it felt like I had accidentally entered a science class because I was very, very confused. But once things started making sense, the book slowly unfolded into something incredibly beautiful.
The poems capture unrequited love in such a delicate and beautiful way. Each poem carries emotion, longing, and vulnerability that stays with you even after you finish reading.
Some of my favourite poems were Mystic Hole, Pieces, From My Nothingness, Your Hands, Insignificant Parts, Dressing, Heart and Arms, Fire and Water, Unrequited Love, and Prison.
My most favourite lines were:
“I will love you forever and I will love you beyond forever”
and
“I will love you from the stardust I become.” from the last poem — From My nothingness.

My personal favourites were “One Day” and “Salt.” Both stayed with me even after I closed the book.

The book is a collection of around seventy poems that are told in an episolatory manner. The aim is the poems is to tell the story in its various forms. It starts with the big bang theory and then slowly moves on to loneliness, unrequited love, one sided love, longing and so much. The area the poems encompass and the way in which they touch the heart of the reader is truly mesmerizing.
My favourite poems were 'loneliness', 'muse' and 'one day'.
The poems vary inlength but their effect is profound throughout. Some poems are really heart wrenching and made me really emotional.
The poems are written in simple to understand language. A really good collection of poems. Will definitely recommend.

Poetry will forever be superior to prose and this book is proof of that. My favourite out of all the poems in this book is "Prison". Despite its very short length, the few words that the author has penned down left me speechless. It was among the first few poems that made me get hooked to this collection, and the rest is history as I read the entire book in a single day. My other favourites include "Mystic lock" and "Salt" and these pieces conveyed to me the heartfelt pain that the author was intending to express. I am definitely recommending this book if anybody ever asks me for poetry on love, pain or romance.

It is a beautiful compilation of around 70+ poems both short and long combined together.
Some are pure expression while the rest are detailed engraving of the emotions flowing in the sail of words.
My personal favourite poem is "Making Love"
It is a raw expression of the depth of love which a lover is confessing. It includes all the stuff which we crave for with our loved ones, to be closer enough that bedsheets smell like them. It's that kind of feeling it reflects.
Overall a beautiful book of poems which you can grab.
