The language is clear and conversational, the tips and techniques -- all 2,000 plus of them -- are all both fascinating and useful. You're bound to find something within the 18 clever chapters that will save the day in a tricky situation, from cleaning antiques, to taming a wobbly wheelbarrow. There are hints for every room in the house, and more for car and garden.
The simple line drawings, are cartoonish and often extraneous, and too often look like padding. They're at their best when they are used to actually illustrate something or to clarify a point. It's a minor annoyance, and does not detract from the usefulness of the book.
The crowning glory is the comprehensive index that makes short work of fast and easy lookups. There have been similar books published over the years, but none is as interesting or quite as useful as "Haley's Hints." There's a reason why it was on "The New York Times" Best Seller List.

There are so many great and useful life hacks within this book that it leaves you waiting to try them all. One of the better books I inherited from my Mom in April 2012.

Some good simple solutions, some quite complicated. But a good reference book.

Very nifty hints within this book! Some worth trying instantly, some worth showing everyone in your house and laughing. A very fun book.
