About the author

Having been an avid reader her whole life, Emory got back into writing in early 2023. She began writing the first draft of Star-crossed Betas in June of the same year, and the story spilled out of her onto paper in just seven weeks.

It didn’t take long for Emory to realise that there were more love stories to be told and a larger mystery at hand, so it became book one of a four-part series.

In the rare moments Emory isn’t writing or editing, she can usually be found reading with her cat, Buffy. Or, in better weather, out walking in the beautiful Yorkshire scenery that provided the perfect backdrop for her books.

I don't exactly click with the author's writing, I'd like to feel some connection aside the sex.

I was in a mini book hangover from my last read which was stellar and I don’t think anything would take me out of it till I read this perfect gem on Sunday - a perfect mix of k1nky, spicy, smutty goodness with just oodles of feel good emotions.

Emil is perfection as is Tobes and o loved the glimpses we got of Harbour, Max, Casper and the others, I hope there is more in this world, o would love to read about them.

Tengo que admitir que esta historia fue una locura, jajaja, y la amé justamente por eso.

Este fue mi primer acercamiento a la autora y la verdad es que quedé gratamente sorprendida y completamente encantada, tanto con la historia como con su forma de escribir. A pesar de ser un libro corto, la escritura está muy bien construida.

Emil y Tobías me gustaron DEMASIADO. En serio, no pude dejar de leer una vez que empecé. Aunque tiene pocas páginas, todo está tan bien escrito que en ningún momento se sintió apresurado. La historia se desarrolla de manera fluida, las acciones de los personajes son coherentes y fáciles de entender, y cada decisión que toman tiene sentido dentro del contexto. Todo eso hizo que terminara disfrutándolo muchísimo.

Definitivamente quiero leer más de Emory, y estoy desesperada por leer A Daddy for Cooper, que además va a ser una historia Alpha x Alpha. Estoy MURIENDO por que se publique ya‼️

I have to admit, this story was absolutely wild, haha—and that’s exactly why I loved it!

This was my first time reading this author, and I’m honestly so pleasantly surprised and charmed, both by the plot and her writing style. Even though it’s a short book, the prose is incredibly well-crafted.

I liked Emil and Tobias WAY too much. Seriously, I couldn’t put it down once I started. Despite the low page count, everything is so well-written that it never felt rushed. The story flows perfectly, the characters' actions are consistent and easy to follow, and every decision they make actually makes sense. It all made for a super enjoyable read.

I definitely want to read more from Emory! I’m desperate to get my hands on A Daddy for Cooper, especially knowing it’s going to be an Alpha x Alpha story. I am DYING for it to be released already‼️

PS: I also need Max and Harbour’s stories, especially knowing what Harbour is into… 👀🔥

I have been wanting to read this book for a minute and I finally bit the plunge when I just had to read it. I love me a good omegaverse book and it’s spicy along with being a novella, so I knew I had to grab it. I’ve been reading a lot of amazing rugby romance books and I’m feeling like they’re becoming my new favorite sport romance books to read lately.

Emil and Tobias were so good together. For the longest time, Emil felt like the captain, Tobias, just didn’t like him at all if they weren’t out on the field. That just wasn’t the case. I knew they were going to be pretty hot together when Tobias saw Emil dancing. He got all growly and hot.

Poor Tobias just couldn’t stay away. I really loved the end of the book when Emil gets hit with a pretty intense heat that Tobias is there for it all, along with their teammates. That’s when Emil realized that this team is way more special than he could ever imagine. Also, that was also the way that their feelings came forward. Although, that shower scene with Emil, Harbour and Tobias was simply perfect in my opinion.

And Harbour… he was so hilarious and had me laughing at some of the things he said.

Even though things were done backwards, I just loved their first date because it was so sweet. When Tobias told him to not wear cologne because he loved his natural scent - I was swooning so hard.

Let’s just say now I need to go through Emory’s books and read the ones I have not read because just… wow.

This was a great short and spicy read! Emil is the first omega to play in premiership rugby league, and he wants to prove that omegas belong there. Because of that, he ends up taking his heat and pheromone suppressors for much longer than intended. When he gets hit with the heat to end all heats, he's going to need the help of his alpha team captain and his teammates to get through it. The spice in this book was great, and I thought this erotica was the perfect balance of spice and feelings. Emil is so determined, and I appreciate that he was written as a strong and independent omega. When we first meet Tobias, he's trying to avoid Emil at all costs but not for the reasons Emil thinks he is. When they finally get together, I love how much Tobias absolutely worships Emil. The orgy scene towards the end of the book is definitely a highlight for me. When Emil needs more than one knot to make it through his intense heat, his alpha teammates step up. It's extremely intimate, but also an incredible show of the love the teammates have for one another. And let's just say I'll never see a locker room the same way after what these teammates got up to in theirs!

okay so rant over- this was a fun short story with lots of steamy scenes but it was also pretty sweet & swoony💗 i may have not paid much attention tho bc i thought the group sex would happen before the MCs "got together" and that the gangbang would be the thing that opened their eyes & the story/their relationship would develop from there.. soo, that wasn't the case at all!🙈😆 but i'm not disappointed, not a tiny bit, everything was done really well actually, i loved how ossessive & jealous Tobias was during like the whole book but also -especially- when he had to share Emil aka Cherry🍒 with his teammates🔥 loved how Tobias came to terms with it tho, he wasn't an alpha-hole, and i loved how Emil was searching for him & needing him even when others were providing him some knots..👀🤭🔥 i only wish there were more emotional development & we got to know the MCs more but for a short novella, i think it was okay in the end💗

I really enjoyed this novella A LOT. Like my goodness… this was hot, this was beautiful, this was… I don’t even know how to explain it, but it was also funny??

I swear, her books always make me laugh. The banter?? Yeah, that’s one of my favorite things about her writing tbh. It’s always so good.

I loved Tobias and Emil. Loved EVERYTHING about them. They made me feel so many things. I was happy, then sad, then stressed, then excited as hell… like they really put me through it 😭 and they gave me everything I wanted and more in like… what, 70 pages?? That’s crazy.

But yeah, it was so fucking good. I enjoyed every second.

I do wish it was longer though, not gonna lie. I wanted more of them. It felt like they were trying so hard to stay away from each other, even if we didn’t fully see all of that bc of how short it was. But you could FEEL it. Like they were fighting it for a while and then just couldn’t anymore.

That pull between them?? Yeah, I loved that.

And I liked that even in situations they didn’t plan for, where they kinda just had to go with it, they still kept choosing each other. Their connection felt strong enough that nothing else really mattered in those moments, and I was so here for that.

Also… yeah, this was HOT. Like spicy, yummy, all of it.

Do I wish there was a bit more plot and more background on them? Sure. But it didn’t ruin the experience for me at all. I still loved the dynamic, the tension, the way everything played out.

This is a 4⭐️ for me. I was smiling, blushing, giggling… just having a good time the whole way through.

Even without seeing much of how they met or how it all started, I still felt their connection, and that’s honestly one of my favorite things about this.

Also, random but… I love Harbour. I know he’s not the main focus here, but I really liked him and his relationship with both Emil and Tobias. He just stood out to me.

Only complaint? I wanted more. That’s it. I just didn’t want it to end.

Other than that, zero complaints.

And yeah… I’ve been saying this, but I really love her writing. The details, the tone, the pacing… it just works for me.

I’m fully in my Omegaverse era at this point 😭

Emory Winters went from making me all emotional with another of her books to all 🥵 and needing me to take a cold shower 🤭. The way this book had me blushing ☺️. It was not what I expected but I sure the f¥€k enjoyed it.

Emil was a sweet omega who was just trying to play the game he loves and prove that omegas can also play a sport like rugby. He was out to prove a point. Only bad thing was his heat. Something he tried to surprise but it backfired.

Tobias on the other hand was an alpha who was trying his hardest to stay away from Emil. He knows Emil is a good player but he isn’t trying to get involved with him in any way. That all again backfires when Tobias goes into heat 🤭.

Emil’s second heat got so bad that Tobias had to get his other Alpha teammates to help him out and let me tell you that orgy was oh soooooo hot.

I can’t wait for all the others guys to get their HEA especially Harbour our Himbo best friend 🤭.

This was a nice novella with an interesting plot: an omega rugby player tried for over ten months to avoid going into heat in order to play, but when the heat eventually arrives, it's so overwhelming that he needs the help of more than one alpha to get him through it.

I was worried about the group scene, but the other 4 alphas were really respectful (maybe because Tobias was watching them like a hawk). I also liked a lot how Tobias helped and supported Emil and never left him alone.

What prevented me from giving a higher rate:
Emil played for ten months with the team, he was surrounded by alphas the whole time and yet he reacted only to Tobias. I didn't really get their connection, what made Em so special that Tobe (who's alwyas dated women) was attracted to him so much, and what made Tobias different from the other alpha players.
Moreover, after the build up of Emil's heat, the story falls flat. Basically nothing happens, he and Tobias keep having intimacy and after the season ends, they finally have their date.
It was like the passion and the intensity strongly burned in the locker room scene and then the flames just die out.

It's hard to believe this is a novella because it is so well written and the story is so well developed.

The spice was super spicy, this is definitely erotica. But the romantic development in the relationship between the MCs was there, as well as development for the side characters. I enjoyed reading about all of them and hope there will be more for the other guys on the rugby team (I'd love more of Emil and Tobias too!).

This story is also omegaverse, so Emory Winters had to do a fair bit of world building to establish how Alpha, Omega, and Beta roles work in society. Those themes here were pretty standard for the genre, nothing out of left field, and made clear that it was easy to follow. I also know absolutely nothing about rugby despite having read rugby romance before and felt like I was able to follow along with the games and everyone's roles.

I've read all of Emory Winters's books, but I think this one is my favorite, probably because she accomplished so much in a novella. It felt like a full length novel, but I was able to finish it in one sitting.

Such a spicy short read that every rugby omegaverse fan needs to read at least once!

Was I ready for this? Not at all. Did I enjoyed it so much I needed to turn my ac on? Totally. I love how Emory brings the story of Emil and Toby and alpha and omega rugby players who…for all intents and purposes looked like they did not get along, only to discover it was the opposite. Add to that an emergency “0rgy” thanks to some miscalculations on meds, and this lil omega was in for a wild ride! It was the push they needed and I’m obsessed.

10/10 a must read if you want a smith ride with some fluffy plot.

What an enjoyable hot read. this is the first book I've read of this author and o enjoyed every minute of this short read.

Being an omega in a rugby team sounds hot, and difficult for a number of reasons. having one extremely hot alpha and four other alphas on the team challenging but useful, especially if you go into a delayed intense heat. though there is a hot 6ome in the chamgumg room, the bond between Tobi and Emil is strong and the foundation for somethimg in the future.

there are some books that should be longer, and others that are too long. fir this book, though maybe interesting, I think the ending for tobi and emil leave the reader satisfied. a lengthy book means angst and in these days of too much angst around the world by tyrants and bullies and sweet HEA read is just what the doctor ordered.

Emil was so damn loveable. Emory has a real talent for writing characters with hilarious inner monologue and witty banter, but also super endearing. Even the side character felt super fleshed out.

The world building was great and I loved how there was actual rugby in this book without feeling overwhelming. Emory hit the sweet spot.

The sex scenes were well thought out, intense and intimate.

I enjoyed the balance between the MCs, their connection felt genuine and their personalities worked well together. I can’t stop thinking about Tobias’ thick thighs. 🤤

I am gagging for more from this world.

Emory is one of my fave omegverse authors for sure, can’t wait to see what she writes next. ☺️

I loved it as much as I love everything Emory writes and will probably have her to thank for my feed being flooded with rugby thighs for the foreseeable 🤤

It was a very sweet read, yes spicy for sure, but equally cute. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the big “team scene” that I knew was in this, but it was actually quite sweet lol (??) just some homies helping out their homie 🤪

This would be perfect if you’ve just read an emotional rollercoaster and need a quick palate cleanser (about 1.5 hour read).

Umm yeah 🫠🫠🫠 turns out I DO like reading about the sports when it’s omegaverse erotica written by this author. Emil and Theo were 🔥🔥🔥 from beginning to end. Also I’m usually not into reading about extra partners outside of a couple or closed pairing but this was HOTT and still scratched that emotional connection itch between Emil and Theo that I need in my erotica. It’s delicious. Gonna be a re-read favorite.

This was such a spicy, sweet, and filthy read. This is a Omegaverse rugby story. This follows Emil and Tobias. They're both on the rugby team and Tobias is the team captain. Emil is the only Omega on the team. He ends up hooking up with Tobias who he thought hated hi. These two were perfect together. He ends up going into heat after the final game and ends up needing more teammates to help him through with Tobias 🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵. Loved the HEA for these two.
