Another well written fabulous story of this series. full of drama, love, adventures, intrigue, family, friends, action, dreams and time travel. Dr. Caroline is in 1883 and heads out to the farm that Wyatt and Emma has left her. She is also told that the barn is haunted and to stay away from it. When alone she sees the glow from the barn and follows the strange blue light. Before she knows it she is in the future. James finds her there at the homestead and takes her to his home. He has to let her know that there are lots of changes that have happened in the 140 years. She learns so many new and exciting things in the future and also comes to love James. They both realize that she has to go back before New Years Eve. Love blooms and still lots of questions occur and need to be answered. From a snake bite to time travel , has so much to keep you reading and turning the pages. Would recommend to everyone.

I received this story and leave this unbiased, honest review.

In this new book in the Kincaid Brothers series, you follow the story of Caroline Mackenzie, who by coincidence travels through time from 1883 to the twenty-first century. The moment she sets foot in this unfamiliar world, she meets James Kincaid. For those who have read the first two books, he is the oldest brother of Wyatt and Josh. Together they try to figure out why Caroline traveled to this time and how she can return to her own. But what happens when they can’t keep their eyes off each other?

I was very interested in this story because I always enjoy time-travel stories. Outlander is still my favourite series. The book started quite well, as the author highlighted what would be different for someone arriving 140 years in the future. I expected this to create some funny scenarios, but that wasn’t really the case. Caroline adapts quite quickly to the new world, although her curiosity about everything did make that believable.

Unfortunately, the rest of the book didn’t quite work for me. James and Caroline fell for each other far too quickly in my opinion. They had only known each other for a day, yet they seemed completely consumed by their feelings. James was constantly complimenting Caroline, and I would have preferred to see them get to know each other a bit more before the romance developed.

I also sometimes felt like I was reading a summary rather than experiencing the story. Certain information were repeated often such as “she is from the past,” “I am so in love,” or “I felt lonely while my brothers were in the past.” Because of that repetition, the story felt slower than it probably needed to be.

Overall, this book just wasn’t for me. However, if you enjoy time-travel romances where the main characters fall deeply in love very quickly and will do anything for each other, you might really enjoy this story.

Thank you to Happily Booked PR for the ARC.

This story is the third installment in the time traveling romantic adventures of the Kincaid Brothers. I recommend reading all of them in order. The difference in this story is the direction of the travel. This time Dr. Caroline MacKenzie is propelled one hundred and forty years into the future from 1883. I loved getting reacquainted with Wyatt and Josh Kincaid and their ladies, Emma and Amber. Caroline’s curiosity and wonder as she discovers all the modern technology is delightful to see unfold. And she is shocked when she realizes the freedom women have compared to the time she came from. That covers everything from their clothing and careers to public displays of affection. She and James Kincaid, the oldest brother and the only one who has not time traveled, have an instant connection that they can’t fight and aren’t certain they want to. Despite the morals of Caroline’s era, the two do act on that lusty attraction in some steamy, physical encounters. This is a story personifying the statement “There is someone for everyone” and in this case, you have to travel through time to find the one you are meant to find a happy-ever-after with. It makes you ask the questions, “What would you do for the one you love? Is anything too big to ask? To hope for?” I’m sad to see the series end, but I think the final installment was done very well. I received an ARC for this story through BookFunnel, but the opinions expressed here are my own freely given.

THOUGHTS: I really enjoyed this book though I did have a little trouble getting into it at first. I wasn’t sure who some of the people were and what the relationship was between them all, but the author brought in the backstory in such a way as to make it clearer. By the end of the story, I was completely invested in the relationship between Caroline and James. And yes, there was an issue since she was in 1883 and he… wasn’t. But come on, this is a romance so you knew something had to work out between them somewhere and somehow.

In this story, Caroline is a doctor in a small western town in 1883. While it’s unusual for a woman to be a doctor in that time, she works with a trusted doctor and the townspeople come to trust her (eventually). When a bright blue light appears in her barn, she investigates and gets pulled into current day and into the life of James Kincaid. His two brothers and their girlfriends/wives got pulled back in time and then back to now so he knows what’s going on—sort of. Over the months that Caroline is here, he falls hard for the smart, beautiful, intriguing woman. When she gets pulled back, he feels as though a part of him has died.

I do recommend that you read the entire series, especially the first two books first so you know what’s going on better. I love the whole “Malachai from the future” part. This is a good story with an intriguing background. Recommended as long as you read the first two first.

This is the 3rd in a series of time travel stories involving 3 brothers. In 1883, Caroline is a doctor who is left a house by her friends (who went back to their own time). I wish the author had included more about Caroline in general because a female physician of that time would have been very interesting to read about. She goes into the barn to prove it isn’t haunted and winds up going forward in time. James finds her and takes her to his home. He fills her in on the fact that she has traveled over 100 years into the future. He carries so much inside because of the time portal and how it has affected his family. She definitely takes that information better than I would have. She then falls for James, and he for her. She decides that she wants to stay in the future. Then comes the kicker: there is a deadline for her to return to her own time. On top of that, she finds out that a person who means a lot to her from the past is in danger. It was a cute, quick read that will keep you reading until the end. The banter and dialogue, which is my thing, was great. I had not read the first two, but I will now. Once I do, I may adjust my opinion that the time travel aspect and going back to her time vs staying in the future was wrapped up in an anti-climactic way. But I would recommend.

I absolutely loved With This Heart by Heather Alexander. The time-travel element immediately pulled me in, but what really kept me hooked was the emotional connection between the characters. Their bond feels instant and undeniable, yet the romance unfolds as a beautiful slow burn that makes every moment feel earned.
The language throughout the book is incredibly romantic and atmospheric. The way the author contrasts different time periods is fascinating, with little details that make the shifts in time feel vivid and real. It adds such a rich layer to the story.
I also loved the dynamic between the characters. The FMC is strong and determined, while the MMC naturally steps into a guiding role—teaching her and helping her navigate the world she finds herself in. Their chemistry builds steadily, shifting from curiosity to undeniable attraction, and the tension between them is absolutely swoony.
If you enjoy time-travel romance with poetic writing, a powerful heroine, and a slow-burn relationship that turns deliciously intense, this book is definitely worth the read.

This is the third book in the Kincaid Brothers series and follows the oldest brother, James. I’d definitely recommend reading the first two books first so you’re not lost going in.

I liked that this one took a different angle than the others. This time, Caroline—the doctor we met in 1883—is the one doing the time traveling. She’s a very likable character with an optimistic outlook on the unimaginable changes she experiences. Her curiosity and drive to learn were fun to read, and I was surprised at how well she adapted to everything.

There were a lot of enjoyable moments in this story, but the repetitive parts made the plot start to drag once their insta-love wasn’t the main focus anymore. I also found myself wanting better explanations because the ending felt rushed.

Overall, I’d recommend this to readers who enjoy lighter time travel romances. It was an enjoyable read, just not my favorite in the series.

I was given an ARC copy of this book thanks to Happily Booked. It was the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I got to give it a read.
The book follows Caroline and James who meet after Caroline travels more than a century into the future and ends up in his timeline. The premise of the story was intriguing and I was hooked from the beginning. I thought they had good chemistry and I was rooting for them the whole time. However I felt like the book didn’t completely stand on its own. Having not read the other books in the series there was times I felt like I was missing a big part of the story. I followed along pretty well but feel like it’s definitely a book that should be read after the other two in the series.
But I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes time travel books!

Hello, people!
Closing with the third book in the series, With This Heart, the stories continue to connect with each other. The protagonists are Caroline and James. The characters are dynamic and have depth. The writing continues to surprise me and make me want to read all of her books. Her speech is direct, emotional, warm, real and radiates an honesty.
For all these reasons, I hope you read every book in the series and in general by the author!

Thank you very much to the author and Happily Booked PR for the eARC!

It’s my first time reading a time travel romance and it’s truly intriguing. I enjoyed seeing Caroline figure out the modern appliances as she adjusts to living in a world modernized by technology.

The romance also burns deliciously as both Caroline and James try to find a stable equilibrium to co-exist, with differing cultural expectations preventing James from going ”too fast”. The ending wraps up their story nicely and I couldn’t have wished for a better one.

Thank you to Happily Booked PR for the free ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I REALLY wanted to like this. I thought all the characters were genuinely sweet and I was intrigued by the time-travel romance plot. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. The dialogue was very wooden and there were too many random explanations to cover up or avoid plot holes. All that said, I appreciated the strong female lead and total cinnamon roll MMC.

I liked how everything made sense in the end. This is my least favorite story of the three. I just didn’t fall in love with the two main characters. I read the first two books in 3 days total for both. This book took me 7 days to read. I had a very hard time getting into it which was disappointing to me since I really liked the first two books and storylines a lot.
But like I said, it did like how everything made sense in the end with Malachi and to know their story lives on.

Caroline travels from 1883 to the present day through a portal. She meets James as she arrives and he helps her try to navigae her new surroundings and figure out a way for her to return to her time. Along the way, they develop feelings for each other, which greatly complicates things. This slow burn, mildly spicy, historical fiction gives major Outlander vibes and was a fun read!

I loved that in this one Caroline ends up in the future. She runs into James and is learning to navigate modern technology. Her and James hit it off immediately. But she can’t stay there or she will alter things. They’ve got to make a decision as to what they’re going to do. This was a really story ands I love Caroline and James.

complications

James and Caroline´s story is not only about the budding romance but also points at the complications time travel can create, nobody should have to choose between love and responsibility.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

With This Heart by Heather Alexander completely captured my heart. From the moment the story began I felt pulled into Caroline’s world and I honestly did not want to leave it. This book gave me such a beautiful mix of romance, emotion, and a little bit of magic with the time travel element.

Caroline MacKenzie is such a wonderful heroine. A physician from the nineteenth century suddenly finding herself in present day Montana is already such an incredible premise, but watching her experience modern medicine and this entirely new world made the story feel so alive. I loved how strong, intelligent, and compassionate she was. She felt like the kind of character you genuinely want to see happy.

And James Matheson Kincaid… I absolutely loved him. He carries so much pain connected to the portal that once hurt his family, yet the moment Caroline enters his life you can feel everything shift. Their chemistry is intense but also incredibly tender. The way their relationship grows felt natural and emotional, and I found myself rooting for them the entire time.

One of the things that really stayed with me was the emotional tension of knowing Caroline has a deadline. She must return to 1883 before the end of the year or risk damaging the timeline. That ticking clock added so much depth to their love story because every moment they shared felt precious. When Caroline is faced with a painful truth that forces her decision, my heart honestly hurt for both of them.
This story felt romantic, emotional, and beautifully written. It is the kind of book that makes you pause and just sit with the characters for a moment after you finish the last page.

If you love time travel romance with strong characters and a love story that feels powerful and heartfelt, I highly recommend giving this one a read. It truly felt like a story about love that refuses to be limited by time.

OMG yes I absolutely loved Dr. Caroline MacKenzie. To be a doctor in the 19th century is not only impressive it's inspiring. Her curiousity when she's thrust into the 21st century is what we all need. I enjoyed her pairing with James. We got glimpses of James in the previous two books so get to know him better in this one and understand why he has reluctant feelings for the portal. I was sucked into this story from start to finish.
