Harlan Foster is an average middle aged man working for an oil service company on his way to an assignment at the off-shore oil platforms off the cost of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when his plane undergoes a temporal shift which catapults him nearly one thousand years into the future. He finds himself on a very different Earth, ruled by a quantum computer AI for which any minor transgression might get one exiled to the many artificial worlds orbiting the planets of the Solar System. Having lost everything he once knew and loved, Harlan finds himself desperately trying to survive in this cold, alien world that Earth had become, including attempting to leave the Solar System forever.

An interesting concept and compelling story leads to a worthwhile read

I think the concept behind QUBIT was intriguing, so much so that I saw it on the loathsome kindle add screen and then bought it.

Reading the book I found the story good enough to finish although at times it felt rushed. The main character had decent character development but past him no other characters were brought to life. There was also a few dead ends that annoy me.

Overall the book was pretty good.

pretty good

Some editing might help. But it is a good wide eyed first time exposure to the future story. Four stars
