A very sweet, quick paced love story. There was no drama, tension, or angst. Just a couple with an instant attraction who met under unfortunate circumstances. I enjoyed watching Onyx love Maverick out loud and balance his time as a single dad.

Some stories crawl this one sparks and catches fire instantly. Imagine your house going up in flames and the person pulling you out of it ends up being the one who changes your life forever. Maverick and Onyx didn’t build a slow burn they ignited.
What makes it hit is how effortless it feels. There’s no overcomplicated drama, no unnecessary chaos, just two people who cross paths in the most intense way possible and lean into what they feel without hesitation. Even in that first moment, when Maverick is unconscious and everything is uncertain, there’s a pull that Onyx can’t ignore. It’s instinctive, protective and immediate. Like his spirit recognized something before his mind ever could.
Onyx showing up as her rescuer easily could’ve stopped at duty but it didn’t. It turned into presence, into care, into something steady that Maverick didn’t even realize she needed. Even with her anxiety trying to take over, having someone like Onyx step in and ground her!!! That connection felt natural, not forced.
That’s really the beauty of this story. It’s soft. It’s warm. It’s rooted in connection instead of conflict. Sometimes love doesn’t have to be complicated to be real. Sometimes it shows up in the middle of chaos, grabs your hand and says I’m here without asking for anything in return. This was one of those reads that just flows. Easy to fall into, easy to believe and even easier to root for. Proof that sometimes love really does find you when you least expect it.

Sweet & Spicy Love. I Enjoyed It!
This is the first book that I have read from this author and it also appears to also be the first in her catalog. I enjoyed it. The storyline was sweet and spicy with no drama. It held my interest and also served as a good palate cleanser from some of the other foolishness I have read recently. These characters were successful black professionals and good upstanding members of society who met when one literally saved the other's life. Though they both had experienced some hard things in their pasts, neither let it overcome them or block their blessings. The only thing that this book lacked for me or what I would have liked to see more of was how Maverick's parents interacted with Onyx and Turquoise. It felt odd that with them being such an important part of her life, they were seemingly left out of their life together. Other than that, if this book is any indication, this author has the right recipe to craft some other good books in the future.

Do not miss this book!
I'm a very visual reader, and let's face it, these covers are sexy! Add to that the juicy synopsis, and I knew I wanted to read this book. But, Bae Bae, I was not prepared for how amazing and uplifting a read this book was. If you have not read this book, you need to add it to your TBR list ASAP!
I loved everything about Maverick and Onyx's love story. From the moment Onyx saved Maverick from that house fire, his heart and spirit knew she was his—his to protect, love, and cherish. Maverick herself knew there was something about Onyx that called to her. Even his daughter, Turquoise, held a place in Maverick's heart.
I loved how Onyx always showed Maverick how he felt about her, how he made sure she felt safe and cared for at all times, and how he trusted her completely when it came to Turquoise. And how Maverick was able to lean into Onyx and allow him to love on her like the queen she is. I truly loved their HEA journey. This book was absolutely a gem among gems.

Wow… this love story was sexy.
It started in a way that could’ve easily turned tragic — with fire involved and everything — but instead it unfolded into something soft, intimate, and beautifully layered. The entire read just felt good. That’s the best way I can describe it. It felt good from beginning to end.
This was my first book by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The story had depth, the characters were amazing, and the emotional build was done so well. I’m definitely looking forward to reading more.
And honestly? I would love to see more from this family. There’s still so much I’d love to experience with them — but that might just be me.

Book Three!!
What can I say about book 3 of the BLP Breeds series?!?! I absolutely loved this book!!! I don’t know if this is the first time I read a book by Soleil but I am definitely a fan after this one and ready to read the rest of her catalog!!!
Maverick and Onyx’s love story is definitely a love at first sight romance because they both knew and we knew too. The love they had for each other and the way their relationship just flowed made me want that kind of love again.

Since the day Onyx stepped in and saved Maverick, he knew that was his forever! He told his dad that that was his future and he made it happen. The way Maverick loved on turquoise was admirable. She treated that baby like her own from day one. Mavericks friends and family were accepting of Onyx from jump the same way that Onyx’s family accepted Maverick with minimal questions asked. Onyx was the sweetest and the way that he loved and protected Maverick. The way he helped her with her anxiety was top-tier chef’s kiss 😘🤌🏾💋 I love love love this story!

Onyx is a single father who is a fireman and gets a call for a house fire. He resues the most beautiful woman since the mother of his child. He wants to see her again, but not she how to make it possible.
Maverick is a doctor and fills in for another doctor of the practice that she is a part of and ends up meeting Onyx again. Onyx knows it's now or never and asks her out.
This is a great addition to the series.

Okayyyyyyyyy Mr.Fireman. I enjoyed this read and watching the love bloom. Onyx knew since he stepped into that fire that Maverick would be his. Sometimes you just know what forever looks and feels like. Imagine a man telling his dad he found his forever today. Maverick and Turquoise relationship was beautiful.
I loved the honesty, compassion and raw emotions between Onyx and Maverick.

Onxy and Maverick were two people living life but not really living. He was a single dad, and she was a doctor with severe anxiety. Her house catching fire and Onxy saving her changed the trajectory of their lives. Sweet, heartfelt, and simply beautiful.

Sometimes we all need the hood/urban escape and just indulge is a sweet romance. This is what Maverick and Onyx story was to me. Little drama but so much love, support, and dating. Don't get me wrong Onyx laid that pipe baby and GOOD but he was a companion next to being a father. There was communication, fun, and affirmations. They spoke life into each other and was a real team.

The chemistry between Onyx and Maverick was undeniable. Even though love had threw Onyx a curveball he didn't shy away from it when he felt it again. He went in head first with intention. I loved the fact that Maverick didn't fight against the pull she felt for Onyx, therefore allowing him to come in and sweep her off her feet. It was just the right amount of spice. Five stars Ms. Soleil!!🥰

What a mighty good man!
This was such a feel good love story. The storyline was perfect. I love the patience, loyalty, and straightforward approach shown by the MMC. The FMC was honest, sweet, and loving. The two of their personalities combined along with their approach to love and bonding makes this a real great book.

This was my first read by this author and I really enjoyed this story. It was easygoing and without drama. I liked than MMC and FMC together. Their vibe was cute and simple and sexy. Yes honey!! I just loved these character’s, I need more of a Sunrise Valley. I love the way Onyx loved Maverick’s fears right up out of her! Y’all this couple loved each other so good…man I’m praying the Lord heard my prayers while reading this book and I don’t even play with MY Heavenly Daddy like that, but Onyx was that man in this book.

To listen to your heart is key. To move with purpose and be upfront was refreshing. I love the relationship Onyx had with his parents. This was a beautiful relationship that Onyx and Maverick had. They learned from each other. The respect for his wife was🔥🔥. Loved it!!

A fireman and a doctor
Onyx is a real one. I liked the way he helped Maverick get over her fears of crowded places, he didn't push her to do anything but assisted her when needed. The love the two of them shared was beautiful. The way Turquoise maternal grandmother acted to her wasn't nice at all.

This book gave me major Station 19 vibes, so I was already seated. Firefighter romance, love at first sight, and strangers-to-lovers is a combo I cannot resist.
