Loved it!
Believable Plot. Interesting and slightly unnerving. It makes me want to consider finding a prepped group of my own. I'd recommend this book.

Ill Prepared Preppers
* Spoilers in Review *
Despite having a fairly decent knowledge base amongst the group they appear to be ill prepared for any type of long term crisis. Only having enough food supplies for a couple of months, only one of them knowing how everything at the house works, most of them not having seen each other or the house in as long as a year, no apparent medical knowledge or inventory, limited gardening, no livestock despite having a chicken coop, the list goes on. The entire group seems to live in a strange bubble as if being only about 10 miles from a highway and the nearest town is somehow a degree of safety from any outside forces or individuals and as a result have nobody on any type of guard duty even after four men stumble upon them. Their state of denial of any possible danger is so ridiculous that just hours after four strangers find them, are given food and asked to leave that not only do the group still not post a guard for even the one night to ensure the strangers don't come back but one of the men, plus his teen son, go ahead with previously made plans to leave that evening driving away in a noisy, older van in a now extremely quiet world alerting the strangers to the fact that there are working vehicles at the cabin, at least one less adult out of the five there, making their numbers much more even, with none of these so called preppers seeing all the errors they're making and how incredibly vulnerable they're making their retreat and their own personal safety. All in all it's a decent story with some interesting characters but they are possibly the least prepared bunch of self proclaimed preppers I've ever read about.

This really could happen
Interesting account of how we depend on modern conveniences, and what could happen if without warning they stop working. Story portrays how every day life and people are change by the fear of the unknown.

Get someone to proof read!
I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the idea behind the bug out house and the descriptions. The characters make some pretty poor choices, like when dad decides young daughter and wife should NOT stay hidden inside the house when four strange men show up. But still, flawed characters and poor choices make for a good story, so that's redeemable. But this book needs some serious proof reading.. it's small irritating stuff like in one paragraph they are frying fish, and in the next they are grilling salmon. Or someone is already out of bed and getting dressed in one paragraph only to be awoken and climbing out of bed to get dressed in the next paragraph. It's silly little stuff like that and typos that needed some objective proof reading.

Downhill all the way...
The three prepper families are not prepared and are very naive. When a group of campers come their way they are torn about whether to let them in. You can see trouble coming their way. They don't even post guards, a big mistake.
This is another short book, and to find what happens you'll have to purchase the next book.
Results: I can see that things are going to go south in a hurry.

This was an OK book. I don't feel as though it was a waste of my time to read. Something about it just didn't click for me and even with the cliffhanger ending, I just don't care to read anymore of the series.

Good story concept
All in all its a good story and I plan on buying book two. I must say some of the dialog is a little cheesy but since the story line is good I will continue on.

Read a third of it and stopped. Just too much like many others in the genre.

Plodding. So much lead up. 2 subsequent episodes/before this story is finished. I'll try Episode 2, but not sure I'll complete it.
