* I received an ebook in exchange for an honest review. *
This was a novella, however, it packed the punch of a full length novel. The author did an amazing job getting the readers to become invested in the characters right from the very start of the story. Poor Red, imagine the horror of hearing a couple having sex, in the church right before your wedding - then imagine the man is your fiancé....yep, it was Jake, Red's fiancé. How could the reader not be hooked right then and there?!?!
The author had the reader flipping through the pages at a break neck speed trying to see what was going to happen next! The plot was fun, a bit unpredictable and had the reader laughing out loud on several occasions. I may (or may not) have taken on Mary Lou's accent and spoken some of her lines out loud while reading this story....some things that she said were just too funny to not try to say out loud! She is the kind of best friend that I WANT! No non-sense, there in a pinch, lovable and fun - where can I get my very own Mary Lou?!?
The reader also falls a bit in love with Mason and Monroe - I mean who doesn't want a hot man with big muscles?!? It also didn't hurt that Mason and Red have a bit of history between them that I am looking forward to learning more about! Monroe may have met his match with Mary Lou - that is also another angle I can't wait to get a bit more info. on. Overall this is a great read for anyone!
The author had a few predictable plot lines, but there were also a few that the reader never saw coming. I think that this is a fun, no brainer for any reader! It is easily read in an afternoon, while floating in the pool, or sitting on the beach - just beware that you will laugh out loud and that you will smile and look a bit odd to someone if they catch you, but it is a fun novella and I am looking forward to the next one!

My Review:
If you are ever in need of something fun and quick, keep this story in mind. I was smiling most of the way through this amusing and entertaining little tale. Coming from a small inbred community myself, this story hit close to home… like she could have been living next door. I knew some of these characters and wished I had known others, they sound like good fun. I will be watching this author for future adventures.

This was such a darling little story. I absolutely loved the characters. Every girl should have a friend like Mary Lou. Thanks to Mary Lou, Red had the a chance encounter with her childhood crush, Mason. Little did she know that Mason's shared the same feelings, and seizes a moment with kiss that was a "save" of sorts , when Red was confronted by her cheating ex.
I love the chemistry between these two, it's sweet, endearing, and at time hot.
"Big Girl Panties" was is well written and in my favorite style of writing, alternate POVs. there are some flashbacks so you can really grasp the personalities of each of the characters. I also feel the flashbacks, serve as a build up of what's to come. I know I certainly cannot wait. Looking forward to book two.

Strong start-a lot of back and forth
While I like the alternating perspective that Sawyer provides-paired with the past and present takes throughout it makes it a little hard to read. The layout could have been delivered a bit better with earlier events taking place for the back story and then the present each with their alternating perspectives. However, this story was a fun, light hearted quick read and I’m curious to read the next installment.

Just finished my weekend trip to hot and sunny Oklahoma in Big girl Panties by S.J Sawyer and loved it! This is a five star yippy ya hoo novella for me! I didn't want it to end and leave my little escape. Leaving this story with giggles and smiles, definitely
making my early day a great one so far! I'm very excited and can't wait to read more with Red, Mason and the crew!
Scarlett Summers, nicked named Red starts off her story a little sad! I felt sorry for her, one of those Oh No, Covering my face moments! But soon after it happens, I conclude that I'm happy it happened when it did and Red will definitely get through this. Even as little as she is, Red has a tough streak in her and when paired with her awesome best friend Mary Lou no one can stand in her way! I loved these two! So many funny moments between them and what a true and strong friendship they have.
Mason Pierce aka hottie in cowboy boots, is back for the summer to help family. Being a strong and hard working rancher and also a very well baseball player, this boy brought out all my swoony parts. Wait to you meet him!
Red and Mason have some sort of history together, both hiding some secret feelings from eachother. With events that happen to Red and Mason's visit back home for the summer, this should make for a very interesting few months. And I'm very antsy to find out! No pressure S.J!

Scarlett Lynn, aka Red, has been wallowing in grief for the last two weeks. After finding her fiancé having sexy with one of her bridesmaids in the bathroom! On their wedding day! Well her best-friend Mary Lou is tired of it and she demonstrates this by literally kicking Red out of her bed and making her shower (for the first time in two weeks), and get ready for a night out.
That night changes everything. While out with Mary Lou they end up at a party that her ex, Scott, is at and before he can make her feel like a complete fool Mason Pierce shows up out of nowhere and pretends to be there with her and does this by slipping his arms around her and kissing her. She of course plays along and this gets a snotty, rude remark from Scott that pisses Mason right off and that is how Scott ends up on his back apologizing to Red.
Red had the biggest crush on Mason for the longest time and Mason had been in love with Red for forever, but miscommunication and bad timing kept them apart until now. The only Problem is that Mason goes to college far away and is only home for the summer, and Red just got out of a bad relationship that has her trusting less.

Don’t get me wrong I did really enjoy this novella but the main character, at times, made me want to slap her and tell her to pull her head out of her ass. Other than that I loved this novella and cannot wait for the rest to come out so I can see where Mason and Red end up and hopefully Mary Lou and Mason’s incredibly sexy friend Monroe end up!

I loved this book! It’s witty, it pulls at your heartstrings, it has characters you will love and some you will love to hate, all on a country backdrop that will have you wanting lake parties and dates in the back of a pick up truck.
Red and Mary Lou are quite the pair. Red is low key and Mary Lou is a fire siren going off in your ear. Mary Lou is like that little devil on your shoulder whispering in your ear, “Come on, just go for it, what do you have to lose?” and that’s exactly what she does after Red ditches her lying no good fiance.
Mason is almost too good to be true. He’s the guy that you’ve always been attracted to but never had the balls to approach in that way. You kept him in the friend zone, for your own heart’s sake of course. He appears like a knight in shining armor just in time to rescue Red from what could be a major set back to her finally getting over Jake and that had me swooning over him immediately. Where will him and Red end up? Guess you’ll have to read to find out.
These characters are so likable you wish they were real. Except the lying no good ex fiance of course. He’s an ass and I’m sure we haven’t heard the last of him. Just a gut feeling. This story will have you laughing, shaking your head and even muttering a few, “Bless their hearts”. It’s a perfect read if you want something with just enough sass, humor, wit and drama. And oh the drama, this story has small town politics, as I like to call them, nailed! Living in a small town myself I could relate to the fact that every one knows your business and if you aren’t seen at church, there better be a darn good reason.

Most best friends will be right there with you feeding you ice cream and handing you tissues. But, nope Red's BFF pulls her out of her pity party for one and tells her that she needs to get back up on the proverbial horse and learn to ride again, no pun intended..lol.
What Red doesn't expect is to be saved by Mason, but does the old thing called fate have plans for Red? Will Mary Lou help push things along? These are just a couple of reasons as to why this book is one you will want to jump in and read.

When Scarlett “Red” Summers finds her fiancé cheating on her with one of her bridesmaids moments before their wedding, she does what every self-respecting woman would do: calls off the wedding and goes into hermit mode.
After two weeks of mourning, her best friend Mary Lou drags her out into society again. She knew running into Jake was a likelihood, but the reality was more difficult than she had anticipated.. until Mason Pierce swoops in and rescues her with a kiss.
Evidently when one door closes, another opens for Red. She’s had a crush on Mason since she was friends with his little sister years ago. How can it be that the Greek God is interested in her?
Mason has always had a thing for Red. His timing has never been right. Just when he got the nerve to ask her out in high school, Jake asked her out. She’s single, but Mason’s only home to help out on the family farm for the summer. And a girl like Red, well, he needs more than just a summer with her. But can he deny himself any longer?

Sometimes in life people settle for what they think they should have and sometimes we are saved by the bell, so to speak. That's exactly what happens when minutes before she is due to walk down the aisle she catches her good for nothing fiance in the "arms" of another woman, with no pants on. After a short mourning period and after she finally comes out of her bedroom and gets a shower, thank you Mary Lou!, what follows is her every teenage dream come true in the form of Mason, her high school crush. He rescues her from an embarrassing situation and reminds her what it's like to live again.
I truly love to read and I especially love a quick and fun read. I love the writing style of this writer and how she is able to write anything and make me love it. I wanted to beg her for details of what's to come but I'm not really sure she'd tell me. PLEASE!

Really a great, sweet story of rebuilding. A quick little read that is not a stand-alone and I can not wait for the rest of the story.
Scarlett (Red) is ready to start her life, ready to walk down the aisle. Too bad Jake wasn't quite as ready. Now she must start over, when she would rather curl up in bed.
Mason is the high school hottie that you thought was untouchable. You dreamt about him, wished for him but he was just out of reach.
Since it's such a short book I will not give much away. I will just leave it as this is a really great books that flows along and leaves you wanting more pages to turn.

This was a really good story about finding yourself when you thought that all was lost. I was hooked from the very beginning of this because it kept me entertained and there was never a dull moment in this story. I adored Red and I loved Mary Lou because she was that friend that we all need. The one who won't let you mop in misery, the one that would set you straight and not let you down. I can't wait to read the second part of this story and see what will happen next.

What an amazing read! I fell in love with all of the characters! This book had me cracking up, it was such a refreshing and easy read! You always know what is going on with the changes in POV and flashbacks, I love getting both POV's in one book!. Once you start reading it you are hooked until the end. Then you just can't wait to get your hands on book 2! If you want a truly entertaining and amazing book, grab a copy of Big Girl Panties!

A story about two idiot friends doing idiotic things in an idiotic way. A big no no and disappointment. I struggled to finish it and when I did, I discovered it to be a cliffhanger. I'm definitely not buying any other books in this series.

Completely addicted to this series! I can't wait for more. It's laugh out loud funny and has a great love story. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

I enjoyed reading this book, but I hate the fact that it ended with a cliffhanger. Having caught her fiancé on their wedding day having sex with one of her bridesmaids in the rest room of the church, Scarlett aka Red, called off the wedding. Feeling betrayed, dejected and miserable, she holed up in her room for two weeks crying until her friend came to force her to go out with her, not knowing what fate had in stock for her....

'Big Girl Panties' was a great, fun quick read. This novels was well written and well played out. I fell in love with Red from the start. She is thrown for a loop right off, but she handles it pretty well. Mary Lou is the best friend that I aim to be. She's mouthy, daring, profane and loyal. Great combo. This story ends on a cliffhanger, so that sucks. But I look forward to reading more.
