A Unique Normal: 12 Mistakes We Made Raising Autistic Kids

Rate this book
From the creators of the 7-Ahead YouTube channel comes a powerful, practical, and hope-filled guide for parents raising autistic kids.

In A Unique Normal, Holly and Adam Anderson pull back the curtain on what it really means to raise autistic children in a world that rarely understands them. Through twelve honest, deeply personal chapters, they share the biggest mistakes they made—and the life-changing lessons they learned along the way.

As parents of five (two autistic), the Andersons know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure. From financial strain to school battles and sleepless nights, they’ve walked a long, messy road—and built something beautiful anyway. Alongside real stories from their family’s RV adventures through National Parks, they offer practical tools, affirmations, and encouragement for families at any stage of the autism journey.

Amazing parenting book!

While this book is written for the parents of autistic children, parents of neurotypical children will also find a lot of wisdom in these pages. The Andersons advocate for their children with a fervor that is inspiring. Their willingness to share some of their most vulnerable moments for the benefit of others makes their message so much stronger.
