Rate this book
In her early forties, ER doctor and river runner Jamie Shandro enjoyed a life filled with outdoor adventures, a wonderful family, and a meaningful career. A sudden, incurable cancer diagnosis was not part of the plan. Taking lessons from losses she had experienced earlier in life, Jamie learned to shape a new kind of future. Brimming with joy and humor, this memoir challenges us to contemplate the ways both love and loss can shape a beautiful life.

This book is absolutely marvelous.

Jamie shares a deeply human story about life, perseverance, and finding joy in the everyday gifts that so often go unnoticed.

She beautifully illustrates how our personal stories profoundly shape the way we show up in the world, particularly in our roles as physicians.

I am in absolute awe of her life, and deeply grateful that she chose to leave a memoir behind.

Copies are difficult to obtain at the moment, but it is a highly recommended read.
