A Pinch of Luck by Hannah Phillips - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I had the absolute honor of getting to read A Pinch of Luck by @hannahphillipstheauthor as an ARC— thank you so much Hannah and @wonderful.duo.pr!

A Pinch of Luck follows Clover Dixon where, after unexpected circumstances throw
xem into a wheelchair, xyr parents encourage them to still follow xyr dream of going to college in England.
Xe encounters some unforeseen problems that lead xem to Kaid Booth, a charming young man who happens to be at the right place at the right time.
When xyr starts college, xe also meets a wonderful girl, Zahra Glenn, who begins to become more important than xe thought was possible.

This book was a sweet, cozy read, with Clover, Kaid, and Zahra being wonderfully crafted characters. Clover’s struggles with accessibility and xyr health are balanced with the friendships xe creates across the pond, and the success xe finds in school. As a neopronoun user myself, it warmed my heart endlessly to see a cozy rom-com-esque read featuring a main character with neopronouns! And I adored that Kaid and Zahra weren’t afraid to advocate on Clover’s behalf, whether in regards to accessibility, health, or pronouns, but also left room for Clover to advocate for xemself. A delightfully cozy read, and it was such a delight to see some familiar faces from Nightly Dreams!

I enjoyed every single second of this book! As a wheelchair user myself with a neurological disorder, Clover was a bit too relatable, especially the whole being hospitalized on their birthday bit. I loved the friendship and relationship dynamics in this book, and while I struggled through the beginning of this book, the author noticeably got into their groove throughout, which I loved. It was more YA than I expected, which isn't typically my cup of tea, so this book worked hard to earn this five star review! Definitely give it a shot, even if you're not typically a YA fan!!

I wanted to enjoy this but I’m really not liking the writing. It feels like a badly edited debut but it seems like the author ready has a book out?
