This story will quite possibly stay with me forever. I don’t how I’m going to move on!
A stunning ending to this trilogy! ✨ This book has SO much depth! R.M. Gray deserves a standing ovation for this epic conclusion! 👏🏻
The family bonds, the battles, the multidimensional fantasy realms, and the points to the Gospel… Ugh I can’t remember the last time I cried this much while reading a book.
No spoilers from me, so just give this trilogy a shot! You won’t regret it! ✨

Well, I flew through this book in a day. Solid conclusion to this YA romantasy trilogy!
🗓️ ARC Review. Pub Date: September 1, 2026 🗓️
🎁 ARC gifted to me by Little, Brown & Company
Given that this is the third and final book in this trilogy, I'm going to do my best to keep this as spoiler free as possible.
Cursebreaker is a great conclusion in terms of wrapping up major plot lines, answering (many) burning questions I had from the first two books, and giving a satisfying ending in terms of some characters getting their HEA.
This book read like an adventure, and I was definitely along for the ride. Aster and one of our MMCs REALLY shine in this book, and I appreciated the attention given to their character growth and development. The romance was also very nice (*says in borat voice because I'm a 32-year-old woman commenting on the chemistry and relationship between teenagers*).
My reasoning for not giving this the full 5-star rating comes down to inconsistent pacing and transitioning moments between chapters. Some chapters dragged, while some jumped so fast I wondered how we got from point A to B. Some revelations and moments also felt a bit too easy/convenient (which, yes, I know is common in YA).
Overall, I had a lot of fun with this YA romantasy trilogy and definitely recommend it!

finishing this series feels so bittersweet 😭
Cursebreaker is the epic conclusion to the Nightweaver series, and WOW the twists and turns and rollercoaster of emotions it put me through!!
I love how this series mixed gothic manor with monsters creepy vibes with sweeping pirate adventures and somehow it works perfectly? Cursebreaker was sooo fun as a reader who came for the pirate vibes 🙂↕️
I hope everyone goes in blind and holds on tight for the twists and turns!
this series will always have a special place in my heart from reading it way back when as an indie book. it’s crazy to see how far it has all come and where aster (violet in my heart of hearts 🥹) ends up at the end of it all🖤

3.5 ⭐️
A little disappointed in Cursebreaker, not going to lie. It was one of my most anticipated reads for the year given how much I enjoyed book 2, but it turned out to be lacking the oomph I was hoping for.
The plot, the romance, the ending...it all just felt like it was out of left field. Certain things happened in the first few chapters that changed the entire dynamic of the storyline from the first two books; and while twists are appreciated, it didn't feel like it was the right fit. This could simply be personal preference, so take that opinion with a grain of salt.
In terms of the great debate between Will and Titus, neither of them felt like the same characters this go around. And yeah I know, character arcs, growth, yada yada. But it felt as if Titus was now this little lost dog wandering around, and Will was simply not Will...that's all I can say without spoiling anything. :'D
Wasn't bad. Wasn't my favorite. I got my happy ending, but it didn't feel worth it somehow? I dunno. That’s that, I guess.

Thank you Penguin Random House for providing me with the ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I'd like to preface this by saying that I had the opportunity to read the entire trilogy as ARCs and I'm really chuffed about that! While I would consider Cursebreaker to be the weakest in this series, it was nevertheless a great conclusion and it's just an overall very fun story you can fly through.
This third and final book leans a lot more into the pirate aspect and I think that's largely thanks to the characters spending a lot more time at sea. Aster with her friends and family are on a quest to defeat Morana as well as find a way to break the curse that has claimed some members of the cast. This also soon turns into a treasure hunt and we get to follow the cast all across the map. It is an adventurous and fast-paced tale with plenty of twists you don't see coming.
One thing I have appreciated across the series was how, if you pick this book apart, there are many familiar elements from other stories but the way they are mashed together here feels both unique as well as nostalgic. I also really enjoy all the character relationships and bonds. I will need to add that these two positive points also have a flip side. I think this trilogy is best read in one go rather than spaced out as I did while they were still being published. I don't usually reread books in preparation for the sequel as I'm usually good at remembering the details. In Cursebreaker, I felt a little lost among the large cast. I found the cast to be pretty large in the first two books as well but it felt a little overwhelming in this third book, partially because some of the characters don't really contribute beyond being named as being there. I feel like some characters could have been fused into one. Similarly, the magic system and the different races in this series are fairly complex and it didn't come back to me easily after a year's gap between reading the previous and this book.
But back on the positives, thanks to the large cast, we do get quite a range of different characters and I'm sure there's one for everyone to love. There were several characters I was really fond of and I enjoyed a lot of the banter among the crew. The main romance turned out the way I hoped it would and my favourite character made it out alive. And yes, that's worth noting because they're dropping like flies in this final volume.
I think it's very evident that this was a book made with love and something the author has had with her for a long time. While it has its flaws, the one word that keeps coming to mind for this series is fun. I do also appreciate that it doesn't shy away from some rather gory scenes. I really recommend people who like a lot of action and twists to give this series a shot.

The conclusion to the Nightweaver trilogy and I truly enjoyed the ride! I think the ending is a big source of debate for a lot of people, but the more I sat with it, the more I think it was the perfect way to wrap it up!
There was one crushing aspect to this story but y'all know this is a spoiler free zone
I would absolutely recommend the entire trilogy but buckle up because it's a wild ride!!
Epic pirate fantasy
Jaw dropping twists

Devastated to be finished with this trilogy but wow! I’ll never forget this series!

To say I loved this would be a complete understatement. Truly this was one of my favorite YA romantasy series I have ever read. The vibes are perfect for a fall transition book I couldn’t have read it at a better time and the wrap of this story was so beautifully done. I loved the family bonds the slow burn romance and the epic finale this ending held. Overall there is so much light that shines through this story and will give people a Hope for a better life. The r.m. Gray masterfully weaves subtle Christian themes throughout her book that do an amazing job at showcasing Gods love without being overbearing for someone who might not share the Christian faith.

I fear this book and series has wrecked me for eternity. What an absolutely wild ride this entire story was. This is definitely putting me in a long term book slump - how can anything compare?!
This was a beyond epic conclusion to the Nightweaver series and RM Gray did it masterfully. NO NOTES.
🏴☠️ Pirates
🦄 Mythical creatures
💔 Betrayal and heartache
🏝️ Thrilling adventures
💕 Hard-fought love stories
🔀 Unexpected twists and turns
And literally SO MUCH MORE.
I refuse to give spoilers, but the last half of the book had me sobbing and I couldn’t stop. My nose was even in on the action and started crying too. I haven’t cried this much over a book in I don’t know how long 😭 but the reason is because you become so connected to these characters and their stories, every detail is so thoughtfully and beautifully written. And there is just so much more to this story than what’s written on the pages - so many bigger pictures to take in.
RM Gray has created a literary masterpiece. I can confidently say this is my favorite fantasy series I’ve ever read 🙌🏻✨
🌶️ No spice (just kisses)
🤬 Mild language
⚔️ Moderate violence (this entire book is during their war, so also TW for loss of loved ones)
If you haven’t read Nightweaver yet, make it your next fantasy read. You REALLY won’t regret it! 🫶🏻

4⭐️ This series. Definitely underrated, but I am having a hard time rating this book. On one hand it was just so sad and a lot of people I came to love die, and then on the other, I love these characters and the story. It’s just such a dilemma. Maybe that doesn’t sound like a dilemma but let me explain further.
This series is not sunshine and rainbows. It is dark and brutal and sad. For most of the second and third books I wanted to rate them 3 stars. There are just so many violent and gruesome scenes that were hard to stomach. But for some reason I couldn’t rate them less than 4 stars. They don’t deserve the 3 star rating. It was an incredible story, and I couldn’t help but be gripped by it.
I appreciated the Christian undertones but the darkness of it all was a bit too dark for me. As I’ve mentioned now more than once ha. Like it’s really dark. If you can’t stomach blood and gore, this series is so not for you. But if you can push through that and see the overall message of the series, it’s a beautiful story. Light overcoming darkness. People being able to change for good. Selflessness. And at the core of it all, love.
Titus and Aster were everything. Their happily ever after was hard fought, and I’m so happy they were end game! I was rooting for him from his very first appearance. I can’t help but root for the other guy in a love triangle ha. Especially when they are a pirate.
I really enjoyed the found family and the characters. The plot twists were insane, and the ending was bittersweet. There isn’t much else to say because so much happens and it’d be spoiler after spoiler. It’s pretty action packed from start to finish. I enjoyed this series and I’m happy with the ending.
The last thing I want to say is I read books 2 and 3 like consecutively. Like I immediately started book 3 after finishing 2. So the story kind of felt like one whole book. I don’t remember which book had what in it lol.
Read if you enjoy:
- Swashbuckling adventure
- Pirates of the Caribbean vibes
- Love triangle
- Forced proximity
Content 💋:
- Kisses only
- Minimal mild language. A handful of minor swears that I don’t remember

Babes…😭Finishing the Nightweaver trilogy feels so freaking bittersweet. Like I’m over here crying as I type this because I have fallen in love with this world and these characters.🫶🏾🫶🏾
I've been here since the very beginning.🥹🖤 I was part of the original ARC team for Nightweaver way back in Fall 2023 before this incredible series becomes what it is today. I’ve watched Aster’s story grow, watched this world expand, and followed these characters through every twist, heartbreak, and adventure.
And now… we're finally at the end.😭 It feels like just yesterday I was picking up that first ARC and stepping into this world for the first time and now I'm holding the final book in my hands.
And while I'm SO happy we got the ending Aster deserved. I'm also heartbroken that there isn't another adventure waiting for me.🥺Okay, NOW that I've emotionally attacked everyone…😂
This book was an EPIC freaking adventure from beginning to end. Pirates, mythical creatures, a FREAKING treasure hunt babes🤌🏾🔥🔥. We also got magic, betrayals, battles, heartbreakingggg losses, and a beautiful found family.🥹🏴☠️⚔️
Aster's journey throughout this trilogy has been incredible. From watching her step into her strength and truly understand her own power was. From everything she has been through and seeing how far she's come made the ending that much more deserving.
And let’s not forget the plot twists😳
Was it brutal? YES. Did people I loved make it out?🥲 Did I cry? YOU ALREADY KNOW. Did I love every second anyway? ABSOLUTELY BABES.
Besides all of that this series is about love overcoming darkness and choosing who you want to become…
Forgiveness
Sacrifice
Refusing to let your past define your future.
After loving this series so much…seeing Cursebreaker sitting in my hands feels freaking surreal. BUT… now I need to get myself the special edition because obviously she needs to match the rest of my collection.😂

I am so sad to see this trilogy coming to an end. I’ve loved every single book, and this one was such an emotional roller coaster. I cried throughout the entire book, and all of the sweet moments absolutely melted my heart.
I’ll try my best not to spoil anything The friendship between Henry and Aster is so sweet and genuine. I really, truly love them together. Henry cares so much about her, and he has such a special place in my heart.
The part when Titus cleans her wounds and she says, “You probably don’t remember. Forget I said anything,” and then Titus says, “I remember everything when it comes to you.” Oh, I love him so much! 💕
Owen’s sense of humor absolutely cracks me up.
Chapter 28
When Titus made dinner for her and essentially took her on a little date in the captain’s quarters, I thought it was so incredibly cute. They danced, and my heart just melted. I still have such a special place in my heart for Henry I love him so much and especially love the special bond he has with Aster.
And the plot twists?! Jaw dropping. I did not see that coming!
The humor throughout the book was amazing, and I loved the world so much. I especially loved the pirate atmosphere mixed with the mythology. And, of course, Titus and Aster! I’ve been Team Titus for a while now, and all of their sweet moments were some of my favorite parts.
I loved the way he treated her like she was something truly precious. Even the way his hands trembled when he touched her and how he couldn’t believe he actually got to be with her it was just so sweet.
At the heart of this story is that love conquers all. Love is stronger than bitterness, fear and while we all have scars, they don’t define who we are. What matters is what we choose to do with the moments that make us who we are.
This was truly a wonderful story, and I can’t wait to see what else R.M. Gray has in store. ❤️

Oh my goodness 🥹 this bookkk!!
✨️ Unlimited stars!!! ✨️
I almost don't even feel like I have the words to describe how utterly amazing this book was... I guess I'll try! 😅
Cursebreaker basically picks up where Starchaser leaves off, which was great! We have action from the first chapter, like usual! The pacing of this book was insane... like it literally did not slow down. Everything was happening so fast, but like in a good way!!
I am just in awe of this series!! R.M. Gray, the author, has such an amazing ability to draw the reader so well into this world she has created, and I absolutely loved how you can feel and see through her writing her love for Jesus!! There were some really sweet parts in there revolving around that!
This book not only broke my heart at times but also made me unbelievably happy!! 🤗 I kept putting off finishing it because I wasn't ready for the story to be over or to have to let go of these characters who all mean so much to me, but all good things must come to an end! The ending was beautiful, and it was wrapped up so well! 🥹
The twists that happened in this book had me losing my mind 🤯 like I was absolutely shook!! I may have had a slight feeling about one of them, but it still left me reeling! 🫢 All I know is the twists were perfect, even if most of them were heartbreaking!! 💔
I can not wait to see what R.M. Gray writes next because if it's anything like this series, I know it's going to be wonderful in so many ways!!

“My love, I would chase you to the stars and back.”
A fitting conclusion to an epic young adult pirate fantasy! Heavy on the young adult and epic- this series is best read all at once because the sheer amount of characters and overall plot can get overwhelming. I enjoyed the many twists and revelations. There’s more typical fantasy elements in this story (like dragons!) which I thought was fun. There’s some unexpected Biblical parallels, which are done well.
I did get bored in the middle. This book is more character forward than the others. I wanted Aster to stop overthinking and the story to progress.
But goodness, the last 10% of the book really made up for all the mundane bits! I’d definitely recommend this series to anyone who loves pirates, young adult fantasy, and a very epic story.
Thank you Little, Brown for the gifted ALC and finished copy.

One of my favourite ya fantasy trilogy’s so far, I loved every minute and can’t believe it’s over!
I loved the journey, the character development, the relationships between the characters, literally everything sucked me in. A swashbuckling adventure to find Morana before it’s too late. I love Aster as a fmc, brave and bold, willing to do anything for the people she loves. And Will - seeing him fight so hard for Aster, my heart! But the love triangle is done so well that how could I cast Titus aside! I loved the ending but it’s bittersweet that it’s now over.
Pirates, vampires, possessions - so many things I loved and made for a wild ride in this conclusion to the trilogy.
I highly recommend giving this trilogy a shot.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an arc in exchange for an honest review.

FIVE STARS🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
OMG THIS BOOK. This was a perfect ending to an amazing series. This book made me so happy in many ways, although there were times when I was stressed out due to those plot twists.
The characters were really great. I really love aster shes a great mc, and Titus… omg I love him so much, he such a complex character and easily my fav. Thats all I’m gonna say about him because I’m just going to end up ranting about how Titus is the best. Will, who I was pleasantly surprised with his development, I hadn’t liked him until the end but he had great development. Im not gonna get into too many details because I don’t want to spoil anything.
Also the yearning was on point just like it had been in the past two books. 👏
Overall this series is now one of my fav series ever and these books have definitely been some of my favorite reads all year.
I 10000000000% recommend this series to anyone so pls go read these books

Nooooo. How dare I read and rate a book less than 4 stars? :(
I loved the characters and the world of Cursebreaker, but I think the plot got a little muddled for me.
All in all, I think for a debut series from a debut author, R.M. Gray is a fun writer for YA fantasy. I'm excited to see her next book and I am glad I was one of the earlier readers who supported her back when she was an indie author.

The most piratey book of the trilogy, Cursebreaker was a rollercoaster of a finale but also a satisfying end to the adventure. There were a few losses that cut deep, a plot twist that I thought I wanted but was absolutely not ready for when it happened, and some redemptive arcs that serve to remind us that ultimately, love conquers all.

I can’t believe it’s over, but I loved that ending. There were so many major plot twists! I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that my ship sailed. (Just avoid my previous two reviews until you’ve read this amazing series.)

Man oh man, what a conclusion! There were so many plot twists that I did not see coming! This was full of action packed scenes and kept you wanting to see how it was all going to end. I haven’t had such a fun pirate book in a while and this delivered. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the next series.

I knew it had to be Captain Shade from the moment he reached for Aster in book one. I was screaming any time she was with Will and not getting she was being manipulated. Although why did I like Will more after he was being fucked up and trying to redeem himself little by little?? Still team Titus though.
