One lie destroyed their trust. One truth might save their lives.
Dante Montelli thought he could handle being married to a hitman, but he wasn’t prepared for this. Knowing Gabriel—the infamous X—was using their marriage as a front to hunt and kill Dante’s father is the ultimate betrayal. Even though Gabriel returned his father alive, the damage is done. Their marriage of convenience was built on a blood debt, and the foundation is crumbling.
Now, a new mystery has if the Montellis didn't kill Gabriel’s father, who did?
Dante and Gabriel are forced into an uneasy alliance to find the actual killer. But as they hunt for the truth, the lethal attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore. In the explosive finale of The Hitman and The Heir, they must decide if they are still enemies, or if their partnership is the only thing keeping them from a body bag.
The mission is just getting started. The war has just begun.
This is the conclusion of the series and the books have to be read in order as it is an ongoing storyline and the same couple.
It starts directly where book 2 ends. Dante and Gabriel have to deal with the fallout of Gabriel's actions and the book starts less humerous and funny due to this.
We still have the mafia heir who is happy to kill, even his husband, and the hitman who has to re-evaluate his beliefs.
I like how Dante and Gabriel both are coming to learn about themselves and also to realise the hurt the other one is suffering from. I love how both fit together and make it work.
We also have Vinnie and Zack thrown into the mix now.
The more the story evolves, the more the humor returns. Gabriel just can't help himself.
I am sad to see the series ending, these are characters I came to love and enjoyed reading about. Maybe the authors will let them out again.
Closing out a trilogy is so tough, but this wraps up everything beautifully.
I loved that it takes a more grounded turn at the start. Dante is still holding a grudge against Gabriel, so their vibe is less chaotic and unhinged than usual. It gives their relationship some real weight and shows how much is at stake.
And honestly, Dante’s family completely embracing Gabriel is the sweetest thing. It’s such a touching contrast to all the tension.
The big bad guy reveal was a wonderful plot twist. I didn’t see it coming, but it was woven into the storyline so masterfully that everything just clicks.
It’s the perfect finale. It satisfies every single plot point but still leaves you desperately wishing we could get just a little more time with these characters.
This trilogy has been highly entertaining. Gabriel is just such fun, even while he's in hitman mode. Dante is downright dangerous now, or he would be if he could just stop thinking about his bloody husband. Gabriel consumes his every thought and he can't decide if he wants to kiss him or kill him or both. Obviously, the murder plot plays a large part of the action and is resolved in a very dramatic and satisfactory ending. I love Gabriel. He's a marvellous character and I'm going to miss him. His best friend Zach is fun too. Dante was great, and his bodyguard Vinnie made me laugh a lot. I just hope that the authors write Zack and Vinnie's story because they're a bit wonderful and deserve their own HEA.
Lethal Attraction is the third and last book in The Hitman and the Heir series.
I had a blast reading this series, it’s got action, a bit of intrigue, humor, and some spice.
It picks up right where the second book left off. After Gabriel kidnapped Dante’s father, things between them aren’t exactly smooth sailing. But there’s nothing that the action and the feelings they already have for each other can’t fix.
Will we get a spinoff with Zack and Vinnie? Only time and the authors will tell. But I’d love to.
The final book of this trilogy, it wraps everything up perfectly. This episode starts with Dante still rejecting Gabriel for his role in their current situation, and therefore less humorous and unhinged than their previous interactions. Dante's family being so enamoured of Gabriel is quite touching. The overall plot and the "bad guy" is revealed, which was somewhat unexpected and very well woven into the whole plot. I'd love more of these characters. Thanks for the advance copy, I am happy to leave a voluntary review.
