A Royal Request: A Clean Small Town Inspirational Romantic Suspense

Rate this book
A forged signature. A splintering romance. And a stalker who won’t quit until death do they part.

Rising designer Anabelle Dewhurst is stunned at the Queen’s Garden Party when Her Majesty congratulates Annabelle on her upcoming wedding, then requests an invitation. There’s only one problem—Anabelle’s charming, enigmatic boss and boyfriend, Brodie Maxwell, has not proposed.

Things spiral from awkward to ruinous when Anabelle returns to the Scottish job site and discovers someone has forged her signature on documents that threaten the renovation’s timeline. With no proof of her innocence, Brodie is torn between love for Anabelle and loyalty to the company.

Then the flowers arrive—sent to Anabelle, flowers that aren’t from Brodie but from someone else entirely—someone whose thoughtful “gifts” escalate to dangerous threats.

As Anabelle fights to salvage her career, Brodie hunts for forensic evidence to clear her name. But with a stalker lurking in the shadows, any misstep could spell disaster. And unless they team up to unmask the unknown predator, Anabelle and Brodie may never say “I do.”

Can we just call Paige Edwards a queen of romantic suspense writing?! She's Amazing!!! I love when I get a new book from her, and even better than one book is a series!!! I love how she weaves these characters' stories together and creates books full of journeys that take me right along with all of the adventure, suspense, mystery, and sweet love! I'm all in for her books!!! She's an auto-read for me! And this newest book in her new series had me completely hooked! Especially with that opening! I love how this author sets that stage so brilliantly and gives enough mystery/suspense and writes it to make us feel like we're right there in the mind of the bad guy, seeing what they're seeing. It's brilliant and pulls me right in!

Anabelle is in a bit of a pickle. Thanks to her grandma! Hahaha! Her grandma wants to utilize the connect their family has with the Queen and has the Queen excited about attending Anabelle's wedding and formally saying she'll be there! Yikes! That could be all well and good but one little problem—or big problem—Anabelle's boyfriend has proposed yet!!!

We go from intense to humor to sweet romance to mystery. I loved how it's all woven together to create the feelings of worry for the characters but then there's some comedic relief and some butterflies(the good kind) as Anabelle and Brodie have their tender moments together. And when the story culminates, holy moly!!! You'll be turning those pages very quickly! At least I was! I wanted to pause life at those moments so I could figure it all out! And I'm usually left guessing at which character is the bad guy with how this author writes her stories. There's enough to make you think it's a certain character and then possibly another but then you doubt yourself and go back and forth. Ohhhh, she's good!!! I'm usually able to figure it out before the big reveal but not always with this author's writing! Which makes me happy to not know the big secret before it is revealed!

I loved it all! If you can't tell! If you haven't read any books by this author, this is a great place to start, and then go back and read her previous books!

Content: Clean. This does have aspects of suspense/mystery due to a stalker but the way the author writes it is clean. There are some sweet kisses but nothing further. No language.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

At the Queen’s Garden Party, rising designer Anabelle Dewhurst receives congratulations from Her Majesty on her “upcoming wedding”—a wedding that doesn’t actually exist yet. The awkward misunderstanding creates pressure in Anabelle’s already complicated relationship with her charming boss and boyfriend, Brodie Maxwell.

Back in Scotland, Anabelle’s professional life is jeopardized when someone forges her signature on documents tied to the renovation she’s overseeing. The forgery threatens the project’s timeline and casts doubt on her integrity. In an profession where one's reputation is everything, the falsified paperwork makes it look as though Anabelle approved decisions she never agreed to.

Without evidence, Anabelle's every move is under scrutiny, and Brodie finds himself caught between defending the woman he loves and protecting the company he’s responsible for. The forgery becomes more than a workplace problem—it puts a strain on their relationship. While still dealing with the forged paperwork, Anabelle starts receiving flowers that aren’t from Brodie, followed by unsettling messages that suggest someone is watching her.

I love multiple POV, and especially liked getting the stalker's viewpoint. It added to the sense of danger but gave no clue to their identity. The renovation details were a highlight for me, and the author’s interior design expertise really shines in those scenes. The proposal scene was a highlight and I loved the whole thread of the found wedding dress!! Anabelle’s grandma was quite the character, and I loved watching our stubborn Scot rein in her need to control every detail of their wedding.

Paige Edwards is an auto-read author for me. I love the way she blends romance and suspense with glimpses of her beloved Scotland. If you love your romance with a side of royal glitter and a dose of danger, this book absolutely delivers.

I received a complimentary copy but I also bought an ebook for my personal library. All opinions in this review are my own.

This was only my second read by Paige, but I was still excited to jump into this story. Readers who enjoy royals, Scottish heroes, mystery/suspense and romance interwoven throughout...should give this story a try!

Anabelle’s life begins to unravel when her job is sabotaged, her relationship tested, and she realizes she is being stalked!!! With her boyfriend (rumored fiancé) Brodie by her side, the two must plan a wedding, clear Anabelle’s name at work, and uncover who is behind the threats before it all costs her chance at a happily ever after.

This was a sweet read, though I did find myself wanting a bit more romance. The romantic moments were a bit more understated with the wedding planning and detailed renovations taking the center stage.

That said, Anabelle and Brodie have a ton of chemistry, and their moments together with a mix of wanting to unravel the stalker's outcome... kept me turning the pages. For me, the highlights of the book were the romantic moments between Anabelle and Brodie, I truly believed their connection and loved the moments I got to experience their love on the page. Overall, I enjoyed the story and gave it 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4.

I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

I have so many good things to say about this story! I loved when Annabelle had the Queen asking for an invitation to her wedding, yet her boyfriend Brodie hasn’t even proposed yet! But that becomes the very least of her problems when she finds out someone has forged her signature on two orders for work. Then random flowers and notes start showing up and Annabelle has a major problem on her hands. A stalker is no joke. Add into the mix that she is trying to figure out her family history to Solider’s Leap and this story takes turn after turn! The mystery, the romance, the dress….ahhh the dress!!! The handmade lace, the Poole tiara, I can picture it all in my mind! There are so many beautiful elements woven throughout the story that made it perfect. I definitely recommend this book to any fan of romantic suspense! Happy Reading!!!

Paige Edwards writes the best romantic suspense! A Royal Request delivered exactly the kind of story I was hoping for - lots of suspense and a lovely just-kisses romance, all with lots of beautiful Scottish backdrop!

I loved that we get to jump right into Annabelle and Brodie’s romance - they’re already an established, solid couple at the beginning, and it was such a refreshingly different take than the usual. The two make such a lovely pair and I really enjoyed that their romance was not truly a source of conflict in the novel.

The glimpses into the stalker’s POV added so much to the suspense in the novel. I kept thinking that with all those insights, surely I could place who the stalker was, but it was written so masterfully I was kept guessing up until the end! Additionally, I appreciate that Edwards kept it from getting too dark; the stalking wasn’t glossed over, but neither was it dwelt on over much. It was very well balanced!

The subplot following Annabelle learning more about her ancestors was so well done! I think each of us wants to know where we came from and including this for Annabelle’s family added a lot of depth to the story. The serendipitous discoveries along the way were just delightful!

Thank you to the author for the ARC; all opinions are my own!

A must read!

Anabelle is sure her life currently checks all the boxes for insanity:

Dating her boss? Check!
Working crazy hours on a high profile design team? Check!
Falsely accused at said job? Check!
Receiving an RSVP from the Queen herself for her own wedding- to a man she’s not engaged to?! Check! Check!

When she figures that things couldn’t get any more crazy, she starts receiving gifts from an unknown admirer. At first she barely notices- but then things escalate from sweet to stalker quickly. Between waiting for a ring from her beloved Scotsman to working overtime to salvage her designer reputation, Anabelle’s got her hands full. Will her and Brodie ever be able to reach their happily ever after with everything that’s at stake?

I absolutely adored this book! If you’ve read Catherine’s Intrigue by Edwards, this book has a similar secret sauce combination of family history intrigue, high stakes suspense, swoony romance, and British modern day royals. I seriously couldn’t get enough! I especially loved the family history threads in the story and how they all tied together at the end. Rich or poor, royal or regular- we all come from somewhere, and connecting to that somewhere is part of what makes us human.

As always, Paige’s villain was CREEPY! I love that the villain gets a point of view in her book. He literally was so nauseating and kept me turning pages as fast as I could to find out what happened. And I also loved the renovation that Brodie and Anabelle worked on- it was another thread to the story that I was really invested in.

And let’s not forget Brodie! An overprotective, workaholic, stubborn Scots who’s madly in love with his girl- and not afraid to love heaven and earth to be with her. He’s perfect. All closed door swoon (with what I consider a romantic reason for staying kisses only).

Highly recommend!

Intrigue, suspense, romance, and Scottish charm, all come together in this first book of the Soldiers Leap series. There is also a lot of tension between the English and the Scottish historical traditions and customs. Brodie being of Scottish ancestry and Anabelle from prestigious English heritage. As we begin the story, the queen has basically invited herself to Anabelle and Brodie‘s wedding. The problem is they’re not even engaged yet. They are deep into a job renovation of Soldiers Leap property. A massive undertaking, one they are both excited to do. Until Anabelle begins to get gifts and notes that are a little disturbing. Someone is stalking her, will they be able to keep her safe before it’s too late. The story will hold your attention and keep you guessing till the very end. The characters are well defined and the romance is very sweet and tender. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

If you love mystery/suspense with a romance that actually feels earned, this one is absolutely worth picking up!

One of my favorite things about this book is that the main characters are already in a relationship when the story begins. We get to dive straight into how they handle the pressure, secrets, and challenges thrown their way. It made the emotional stakes feel so much more real and grounded.

The forced proximity adds just the right amount of tension, and the multiple POVs really deepen the experience. Seeing events unfold from different perspectives made the suspense stronger and the relationship dynamics even more compelling.

Overall, it’s a gripping, character-driven read that balances tension and romance beautifully

Content: kisses only, no language, mild suspense

This was such a great book! Annabelle and Brodie are the perfect couple and I LOVE the chemistry between the two, but there are so many things that are working against them! He's her boss and their team's project is her family home (which makes things complicated) and if that isn't enough - someone forged her signature, the Queen thinks they are engaged (but they aren't) and now Annabelle has a stalker!

Paige Edwards weaved mystery, suspense and romance together to make a perfect story and the ending was amazing!! Seriously, I loved every moment and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Definitely 5 stars!

The Brief: Anabelle is a designer from an illustrious family. When the Queen congratulates her on her wedding she’s more than surprised. She doesn’t have a fiancé. Her job is suddenly on the line. And a crazy person is stalking her.

The Debrief: Wow! Want an edge of your seat story with a creepy bad guy and a swoony Scot? @authorpaigeedwards has a winner for you out today! I could not read fast enough and was utterly charmed, completely icked out, invested, intrigued, and totally ready to fly to Scotland. The author does a fantastic job balancing the suspense with plenty of romantic sweet moments that melted me every time I read ‘lass.’ Brodie for the win. Every time. Did you hear his accent? I did.

The adventure is crazy and I love a story that keeps me guessing, but also makes me feel like I figured it out at the same time. No spoilers, but lock in for a wild ride! Anabelle is a resilient force to be reckoned with and Brodie exactly her match. Great supporting cast that I need to know more of and I have thoughts! SO WELL DONE!

The Rhyme: Anabelle is ready for some future plans that include a ring on her finger. Can Brodie make plans and keep her safe when the danger continues to linger?

Highly recommend! Complimentary copy. My own thoughts. If you love romantic suspense with great characters then this is for you. Plus, there’s a Scot. Did I mention Brodie?

A delightful Scottish romance with intrigue, a disturbing stalker, renovation, a Queenly invitation, & thrilling suspense! A Royal Request is an exciting, edge-of-your-seat must read! Paige Edwards is definitely a favorite go-to romantic suspense author, & I love how she blends swoon-worthy romance with a suspenseful plot set in her beloved Scotland. This one kept me eagerly turning the pages with three POVs, including the creepy stalker. A must-read & exciting start to a new series!

At the Queen’s Garden Party, Anabelle Dewhurst is shocked when the Queen invites herself to Anabelle’s upcoming wedding…except Anabelle isn’t even engaged. Though she’s seriously dating her boss, Brodie Maxwell, they’ve kept things quiet to stay professional. But when Anabelle returns to Scotland to continue renovating Soldier’s Leap, she discovers someone has forged her name on design documents jeopardizing the company & the project.

Brodie wants nothing more than to propose, but setbacks keep piling up, including the design issues. He’s forced to put Anabelle on probation until he can clear her name. And as if that’s not enough, someone seems to be stalking her, sending flowers & notes that soon escalate into something far more dangerous. Brodie must do everything he can to keep her safe.

I thoroughly enjoyed this romantic suspense! Brodie & Anabelle are a well-established couple, but face so many obstacles, not the least of which is Anabelle’s meddling grandmother & hosting the Queen at their future wedding. I loved Brodie’s charming, Scottish brogue, & his protectiveness. I also loved the renovation elements & the discoveries about Anabelle’s ancestors, especially the lace gown.

The stalker’s POV was chilling. It’s always fascinating to get inside the villain’s mind & piece together their motives. I loved trying to figure out who the culprit was, & the suspense leading up to the reveal. The tension is off the charts as the threats escalate, but it’s perfectly balanced with sweet romance, humor, & a touch of faith.

Definitely a must-read for inspirational romantic suspense fans! I’m already looking forward to the next book in the series. I received an advanced copy from Book Sirens but also purchased in Kindle Unlimited. All opinions are my own & provided voluntarily.

Could not put it down!!

Designer Anabelle gets a huge shock when the Queen congratulates her on an engagement that doesn’t exist...because her boyfriend Brodie hasn’t proposed yet.

When she returns to Scotland to work with Brodie on a shared project, their rocky romance gets messier when someone forges her signature, putting her job in jeopardy and leaving Brodie torn.
When mysterious flowers start showing up and a stalker turns threatening, Anabelle and Brodie must work together to unmask the stalker before it’s too late.

What you'll love:
workplace romance
dual pov
protective Scottish hero
forced proximity
established couple
stalker
high society
family history
wedding planning
romantic moments
mystery/suspense
swoooony romance!

I’m a huge fan of everything Paige writes, and this book is a perfect example of why! The story follows a couple who are already seriously dating before the book even begins, yet I was hooked from the very first page. Paige masterfully balances tension in their relationship with outside threats, so the story never drags - I literally could not put it down!

Loved the relationship between Brodie and Anabelle! They're perfectly matched, full of chemistry, and let's be honest, who doesn't love a Scottish hero? The bridge scene is one of my all time favorites and their romance was balanced beautifully with all the other aspects of the story.

The stalker adds just the right amount of creepiness - enough to keep your heart racing without making you lose sleep - and there are some seriously heart-pounding scenes that had me on edge.

If you love swoony romances set in Scotland with a protective hero and lots of suspense, then this book is an absolute must-read for you!!

Paige Edwards has done it again this time… I have read all of her books and this one did not disappoint. She has a magical way of bringing romance and suspense together flawlessly that kept me up all night. Her descriptive narrative surrounds you in the story. For example the phrase: “as the rain peppered the sea of open umbrellas…” Add to that Brodie’s wonderful Scottish brogue that would melt thee heart of any woman… (He had me at Lass!)

Formula: Boyfriend’s the boss, plus a deadline, plus a Royal Wedding invitation, plus a forger, plus her job on the line and plus a very dedicated and mysterious stalker…. What could go wrong?

Annabelle is a competent young woman wanting to do her best and rise in the company she works for also hoping to impress the boss our of a wedding ring. However, someone forges her signature on an order which messes up the timeline for the renovations. Brodie her, boss and friend wants to believe her but in torn in sacrificing his position in the company or sacrificing the one he loves.

Annabelle does everything she can think of to right the wrong of the forger. She works late hours, works through design cost cutting changes at her own cost.

She starts receiving gifts and at first thinks they are from Brodie but finds they are not. She has a stalker. There are many supporting characters drawing your attention that might be the stalker. They pass on the job site often but she never knows. It was so well written that I questioned my prediction several times, until they got in the truck together.

I just loved this book and cross my fingers there might be a book two.. We can always hope.

So excited to jump into this story! With a swoony Scottish hero, a royal connection and a stalker, I was captivated by Annabelle's story.

Annabelle's family connection to royalty puts her in an uncomfortable position, when the queen requests an invitation to her wedding. Unfortunately, Annabelle has yet to become engaged. Her job with a prestigious renovations and design company has her maintaining a professional relationship with her site leader while on the job site. But she finds that her job is quickly jeopardized as mysterious allegations and a stalker threaten her position.

As Annabelle seeks to uncover the identity of her stalker, she also slowly uncovers a few family secrets and heirlooms that have been hidden away in Soldier's Leap. With excellent plot pacing, Ms. Edwards skillfully parcels out clues. I loved that the story occasionally switched to the villian's POV. This added an element of creepiness that entwined throughout this delightful romantic suspense.

And of course, one cannot ignore the Scottish hero, Brodie. There were so many magical moments between Brodie and Annabelle, with sizzling chemistry that practically leapt off the page. Set against the backdrop of the old family estate, Soldier's Leap cast its own spell of intrigue. I highly recommend for fans of romantic suspense.

When the Queen asks for an invite to your wedding, you try to give her what she wants. Problem is Anabelle isn't engaged! What a great way to start a book. This story hook caught me and drew me fully into this story. I was engrossed in the romance, mystery of the stalker and the tension between English hierarchy and Scottish traditions. I really did not want to put this book down and did not want the story to end. I am so looking forward to there being more of these characters (please).

There was lots of great chemistry between Anabelle and boyfriend Brodie. The story line was filled with lots of drama at work, pressure from family, danger, family history and spread throughout it all was their romance and love. You could feel their commitment and dedication and I loved the way they stuck together through it all. It was a lovely sweet romance which I enjoyed.

There were lots of little bits that I loved - the dress, random relative being found, the dog, even the algae. So many scenes jumping off the page to tie this book together as one I really loved. It is my first Paige Edwards book but will not be my last.

Paige Edwards newest release totally swept me up with its royal sparkle, family history, and the high suspense that comes from a creepy stalker!

Rising designer Annabelle Dewhurst has her hands full juggling a high stakes renovation project, a pretty fabulous boyfriend who she's certain will pop the question any day, and the creeping sense that someone is watching her way too closely! When forged signatures and mysterious flowers begin to show up, the story takes a deliciously creepy turn that had me both cringing and guessing at every chapter!

What I loved most, though, was the heart at the center of this suspenseful tale. Annabelle and Brody feel refreshingly real, practical, grounded, and willing to fight for each other even when deception threatens to pull them apart! Their chemistry is sweet without being sappy, and their loyalty to one another gives this story a cozy, uplifting core that perfectly balances the royal mystery and suspense vibes. With just the right mix of romance, danger, and a stubborn strong willed grandmother, A Royal Request is a charming escape that you should definitely add to your TBR!.

Ms. Edwards has written a spine-tingling novel with multiple points of view including that of the stalker, which made me hold my breath throughout, wishing for him to be caught and Annabelle to be safe. As if that isn’t enough, there are family secrets to untangle, weddings to plan, and stopping a murderer before it’s too late.

Annabelle and Brodie are a great couple, trusting each other and their love through the difficulties they faced. Brodie was an amazing supporter and did everything to prove Annabelle’s innocence when things appeared to be against her. He also was able to smooth things over with a member of the family, and I couldn’t help but smile as he turns on the charm.

Things to love:
workplace romance
Scottish MMC
manor home
secret rooms
manipulative grandmother
handwriting expert
family history
mystery
romantic bridge

If you like Scottish settings, action-packed stories, and clean romance, you’ll want to add this to your TBR list.

A Royal Request is a nice blend of romance, faith, search for family roots, and suspense with a creepy stalker.
Annabelle is facing giant problems... her career is in ruins. The Queen herself RSVP'd to Annabelle's wedding AND her boyfriend has not proposed! Meaning there is no wedding...yet. BUT worst of all someone is stalking her.
Annabelle and her boyfriend/fiancé, Brodie, must work together to clear her name and protect her from the stalker who lurches far too close.
The suspense is captivating, the stalker is creepy, the faith is strong and up lifting, and the romance is so sweet. But the family connections are my favorite. The late night sibling chats, Annabelle's parents showing up to support and protect her, Annabelle's search for her Grandma's family, and the long lost cousin they find along the way captivate my heart and make this book all the sweeter.
Favorite Scene: Brodie's proposal! Seriously it's the best.
Favorite Line: “You don’t have proof that this is your great-grandmother’s wedding dress,” Brodie insisted. “Then I’ll find it.”

I loved this story and the characters, hated to see them go but hope the author will have them in another story. Anabelle was down to earth and very believable character. She has to deal with an overbearing grandmother that flaunts her connections to royalty and insists the family bow to her wishes.

They are restoring an old family estate and she works for the firm as well as being the family liaison for the project. They are making the estate pay for itself through a restaurant, business center/hotel and glam camping. Brodie is the project manager whom she is dating prior to the start of the project. They have to keep it lowkey with the new policy that frowns on coworkers being involved with each other.

Then she starts to have unusual things happen to her. I won't say more but there is danger for her and others onsite. this story keeps you guessing as to who is causing the issues. Her family is great support.

I recommend this suspenseful romance.

I was not hooked from the start, but by the start of chapter 2 I was hooked.

Brodie and Anabelle are dating, in love and her stalker doesn’t care. He wants her for himself and nothing and no one will stand in his way. Including security systems and guards and a guard dog and a burner phone.

They work together with Brodie being her boss at the job site but they keep it more on the down low.

It was so good and so well written, by the time I got to the end, I wish that there was more to their story. I loved Brodie and Anabelle’s love story.

It all starts with a forgery of Anabelle’s signature on work documents that cause problems. It ends when her stalker can’t kidnap her from a public place but tries to kidnap her from the job site and almost kills her.

Brodie is what everyone woman is looking for in a man. He is strong. He is Anabelle’s sure thing in the crazy weeks and months of work and dealing with a stalker.

I could read more books with Anabelle and Brodie’s story!

This is my 2nd book by Paige and I really enjoyed it. Now I did receive an advanced copy before final edits were finished but I still very much enjoyed it.
It begins with Annabelle’s family being presented to the Queen when she up and tells Annabelle that she is looking forward to attending her wedding. She must return to work and tell her boyfriend boss but is not sure how. Meanwhile he is waiting for the right moment to propose, but strange things begin happening on the job site that cause tension and mystery. Then Annabelle decides to do some family ancestry research to learn more about her past. But without records where does one start?
I felt that this story had more Christian faith elements in it than the previous one I read. Prayers, praying, faith, church, and scripture I believe were all woven together in this story. Family, finding family, mystery, relationship issues were the main threads.

This was a cute, fun, clean story. The plot was interesting, and I enjoyed guessing who was harassing Anabelle. I thought I had it figured out, but I was wrong. Toward the end, the police had it down to two suspects, and the person that I guessed was the other suspect, so I count that as "almost right."

For me, this wasn't quite a 5-star book because there were a few places where the plot felt very slow. There were also at least three scenes where I felt like the author chose to put Anabelle in an unsafe situation simply for the sake of the plot. I just feel like there would have been more security to prevent those scenes from happening.

There's no swearing, graphic sexual content, or graphic violence in this book. There is some behind-the-scenes violence as well as a few scenes where characters are attacked, but they never go into graphic detail.

I received an ARC from BookSirens, and I left a voluntary review.

What a marvelous book!
With Paige Edwards I always know I’ll get a very good book but this one is one of her best if not the best. It starts when the Queen asks for an invitation to Annabelle’s wedding, thanks to a meddling grandma. The problem? Brodie, her boyfriend, has not proposed so she’s not engaged. But that problem becomes minor when unsigned notes and flowers begin arriving, and someone is getting into her house day and night. Something her boyfriend, Brodie, is not happy with and neither is she. As the stalker begins to escalate, Brodie and Annabelle join with the police to determine who is stalking her and trying to ruin her professional career. All while trying to finish a renovation project, plan a wedding, and appease a grandparent who wants to run the show. A wonderful read I highly recommend. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

If you’re looking for suspense, royalty, and a fun remodeling of a Scottish castle this book is for you.

The very first chapter sucks you into the viewpoint of the stalker in the story. It grabs your attention and has you invested in the story.

The romance between Brodie and Annabelle was very sweet. I love that she falls for a Scottish man and we get all of the fun Scottish jargon in the story. It’s obvious that Brodie is 100% gone over her and would do anything for her.

Annabelle’s journey to discover more about her family as she renovates Soldiers Leap was delightful. You could tell she really wanted to have a connection with her ancestors but they were missing so much history. As they renovated, it was fun to see the different aspects and hidden treasures they discovered.

This is definitely a great story with suspense and romance, and found family.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A forged signature, a splintering romance, and a stalker who will not quit until death do they part. When rising designer Anabelle Dewhurst is publicly congratulated by the Queen on a wedding that does not exist and then discovers her signature has been forged at a Scottish job site, she and her enigmatic boss and boyfriend, Brodie Maxwell, must race to clear her name and unmask a dangerous admirer before the threats destroy both her career and their chance at “I do.”

MY TAKE
Man, but what Edwards puts her characters through! This story is pulse-pounding and swoony in equal measure. I loved both Anabelle and Brodie in equal measure even while wanting to smack them up the side their heads at the same time. It got high-stakes danger, emotional depth, and a love story worth I couldn't stop turning the pages for.

I loved the way this book dragged me in from the very first page. I did not want to stop reading until the very end!

Annabelle is such a great character. I really loved that she is the kind of girl to look into her family history. And I loved that there was a bit of a mystery there. Annabelle worked hard to solve it. Even when she was under a ton of stress, not only from her job, but also from having a stalker.

Brodie is Annabelle's boyfriend and boss at work. The two work so hard to keep them separate, to the point of Brodie having to put her on probation due to some things that look like her fault. I loved that he worked hard to look out for her. And that he noticed the little things.

This one is just so good! I can't wait for this author's next book!

Excellent mystery, and sweet romance. The Queen wants to come to her wedding, her boyfriend hasn't proposed yet and an unhinged person is after her, what could possibly go wrong?

A renovation. a forger who tries to derail the plans, a search for family history, and a beautiful heirloom dress. Plus, who would not want a strong Scottish hero? I LOVED A Royal Request. I literally read until the middle of the night and then had to finish it in the morning!

Romantic Suspense lovers will not want to miss this one!

Thank you to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

This is a pretty good book. I liked the main characters even though I couldn't relate to them working such long days. This was a very sweet love story. It was inspirational and had a touch of faith, nothing that should offend anyone. This story also had suspense, with a stalker. That wasn't the strength of the book, as I felt even though he was very good at what he did, they should have been able to figure out who he was sooner. There were times when it was easy to forget about the stalker, which was fine with me. There were some scary parts, but not too often.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
