And that is how you write a spicy sci-fi romance. 5 out of this world stars. ✨✨
Xie, is a dark matter void, the last of his kind. He has a corporeal form but can shape shift at whim (hello mating appendage options 👀). He is thoughtful, dangerous, poetic and just everything. He has a whirlwind romance with Viv, a strong, sassy human with a penchant for babbling which is super relatable. Also, I LOVE a woman in STEM. She’s a big personality and doesn’t dim her light, instead is loved for exactly who she is. Let me tell you this was sweet, pulled and my heart and made me FEEL. The yearning. The banter. The laughs. That spice. Phew, it was hot. Easily 5 stars. 👏👏👏👏

Aliens + Fated Mates 💕
I love when authors go HARD on the fated mates trope and Ginger did just that! Viv and Xie are hooked on each other fast and they connect even across the galaxy.
I liked the way this book talked about prejudice. Xie is the last of his species and people often stereotype and avoid him, Viv may be new to WLN269 but she's not afraid to stand up for him. I would've liked to see a little more of the progress they make in fighting those prejudices in the book, but I'm so happy it was included in the story and handled well.
I was kind of missing more of both the build up with the couple and the resolution with them happy and out together, but the insta-love and first meeting are really the meat of this book.
Viv is super talkative and I loved how social she was. We even get glimpses of her on the space ship with the girls from the other books.
Also the bonding over plants in this book was cute and I cried about the sunflowers 😭
This novella was simple and sweet and even touched on an important topic! Definitely worth a read.

Spicy Dark Matter!
“Filling the Void While Also Being Filled by the Void” by Ginger Kane is an excellent new spicy alien romance that explores rich, deep characters. Viv is full of anger, opinions, emotions, muscles, and demands. Xie is empty; he is quite literally a dark matter void. He longs, burns, and yearns for Viv. Kane immediately makes a strong impression with the characters' missives, which demonstrate different writing styles that convey their personalities. I loved watching these opposites attract or “perfection of our contradictory natures.” “Filling the Void” was a delightful addition to the ‘Planet WLN269 Needs Women’ series. It's a fast burn and very spicy, with inventive uses of dark matter 😉

I really enjoyed the book after the first chapter. Not gonna lie that first chapter was very jarring to say the least. But the rest of the the book was very entertaining. Xietor is probably my favorite mmc thus far of this series.

I would like to start by thanking Ginger Kane and the Planet WLN269 Arc team for allowing me the chance to read this ARC. All of the thoughts and opinions shared are my own!
Let me start by saying, the title is correct and accurate. Also a lot of this is told through letters, and I bloody loved that. Give me a good story told through letters, where they're getting to know each other and find a pull and maybe send photos that could cause the other to question everything about themselves.
Our FMC VivorV is a certified yapper and as a fellow yapper, I felt drawn to her rambly ways so badly! She was also a badass in a male dominated field who isn't afraid to state what she wants and put men in their place. Which I absolutely love, because yasss queen stand up for yourself!!
Our MMC Xie was the void pretty much who was coming to term with his bodily changes and the reaction to this woman who was also interested in him. He literally panics so much about the changes and doesn't know what to do which I loved. Also I love the concept of the void, I would smash it. Like we're intimate the void and I, so I would go to space and embrace them with every part of me..... sorry.
Literally this was just a fun wild time, and if you want chaotic unhinged dating then go for the void.

FMC is a MAJOR yapper. And as an equally major yapper and stream-of-consciousness-talker I was LIVING for it.
FMC is a badass mechanic muscle mommy with a penchant for uttering an endless stream of words and a tendency to flip tables when the situation warrants it.
"Another reason I picked you over the other guys is because you didn't say much of fucking anything in your profile at all, and I thought, that's PERFECT, cause I can say enough for the fucking two of us, you know?"
MMC is a calmer sort.....and maybe a bit overly concerned about the changes in his newly corporeal body.
Love their dynamic together; it was so sweet and their interactions are ENDLESSLY entertaining.
Their was great.....species-building? (Like world building but for the MMC's species). I love a super unique and creative alien species.

The Void is calling and I am here to answer it. Seriously though, this was so cute. It took me a minute to warm up to Viv because she was a lot to handle at first appearance but she grew on me pretty quickly. I loved how Xietor immediately was so invested in her and VivorV was actually the cutest thing to ever happen in the name game. Xietor was the last of his kind and he honestly wasn’t very well accepted by the other inhabitants of his village because of the kind of alien he was and that made me a little sad because he was clearly such a sweetheart who only had everyone’s best interests in mind and he caught a bunch of flak he didn’t deserve. I loved that he fully accepted VivorV no matter how loud and outspoken she was and the way these two bonded was *chef’s kiss* Xietor being a shape shifting dark matter alien ended up being super handy for spicy times 😮💨 I loved that Viv refused to back down once she got to WLN269 about meeting up with Xietor and fulfilling their bond. This was a really wonderful read and the spice was SPICING.

Y’all. I think I’m obsessed. One, with this author and this story. Two with her character, Viv (FMC). She’s a mechanic from Jersey. Yappy. Crass. A muscle mommy. Hilarious. Goes on tangents. I’m here for it. Our alien boo, Xietor (MMC), he’s literally the Void. Death. Dark matter. Can shapeshift. All the other aliens are afraid of him because of his dark matter instability and he’s lonely. Has 5 eyes and 8 fingers on each hand and can shape-shift to whatever form his love wants. 𝕆𝕞𝕗𝕘𝕘𝕘𝕘. 𝔻𝕚𝕕…𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕀 𝕛𝕦𝕤𝕥 𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕀’𝕞 𝕚𝕟𝕥𝕠 𝕤𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕥 𝕕𝕒𝕣𝕜 𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕖𝕣?! 𝕃𝕞𝕒𝕠. Xietor was initially so literal, but after Viv’s long message, wow his reply was hot and I love how direct he is with answering her questions. Anyways, Viv and Xie get a crazy percentage of matching points on the H.E.L.P. Dating app and after literally one long letter between both, they were like YEP let’s expedite this thing, we need to be together NOW. There’s fun cameos of characters from the other novellas while Viv is flying to Planet WLN269. When my girl Viv finally gets to be with her boo Xie, wow. Hawt. Sigh. I love them.

Muscle mommy mechanic who flips tables paired with a poetic, dangerous alien who wants nothing more than to worship her? Yes, please. Viv is loud, messy, brilliant, and completely unapologetic about who she is, and I loved her instantly. Her rambling, foul mouthed inner monologue felt fantastically chaotic.
Xietor absolutely wrecked me. There is something about a being made of literal dark matter who is soft, reverent, and utterly obsessed with his mate that I loved. His devotion to Viv, his curiosity about her, and the way he adapts himself to her needs... The spice is wild, creative. This was funny, feral, and weirdly emotional, and easily one of my favorite WLN269 couples so far.

All aboard Planet WLN269, This book had me laughing so much, it's funny, quick and steamy. Viv is my double in personality, holyshit did I love her. She is loud, rough and swears like a sailor. No filter and no shame. This story was well written, I really liked the long letters back and forth, kinda like reading an old snail mail letter! Xietor is definitely up there on my list of book boyfriends now. He is V’s calm, her other half and they balance each other so well. He is also hot as F and can change his body! Like wtf yes please! If you're a fan of alien romances, badass FMC, special peen(s), tentacles, and insta-love you will definitely enjoy the ride with this one.

This was a different book then the rest of the series. But also still interesting.
There is way more messaging in between this couple than time spent on the alien planet.
Viv is looking for a connection with an alien. Earth makes have failed her so she is looking for a different relationship. She is caught in with Xietor from the get go. He is hitting all her marks with how he looks and comes across in his bio. Yes only his intro bio lol she is hooked from his bio. Then after just one message she is for sure about him too.
They are a very blunt couple and love it about each other. She is very tech indifferent. It almost makes their whole interaction nonexistent lol. But with some help from her friends and the internet she gets his reply.

Xie is a feet-kicking, giggling-into-a-pillow kind of romantic lead. For someone who has never had any sort of draw towards anyone, let alone attraction, this guy really knew what he was doing. He's incredibly poetic and thoughtful in the most sincere way.
Viv is great. She shows the world(s) her true, authentic self, and doesn't let anyone dim her spark. Her rambling through their communications is probably my favorite thing about her. She's a whirlwind of chaos and muscles; I adore her.
The spice simmers and takes a little bit to really start burning, but it ignites once they're together.

I have loved every book in this series so far, but this one may be at the top!! I loved both main characters so much. I loved the way Xietor, this big bad dark matter alien, was planning ahead for her— without any direction?!! Especially when he got her all the sunflowers, I cried! Also, another cute nickname, “my sweet storm.” STOPPPP. I was worried for a bit that something catastrophic was going to happen when they got together but thankfully it was a happy (super steamy) ending. Also I couldn’t stop myself from thinking of Xietor as Venom for most of the book. So that was great. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

First of all, this title is 10 out of 10..unhinged while letting you know exactly what you’re in for! My heart melted somewhere around “my sweet storm”. And…erm…other parts ignited but I’ll let you figure out when in the story that happened. I really enjoyed these two hornballs willfully locking into their fated mates status and not letting anything stand in their way.

February 1, 2026This one has some serious insta-love which can probably be mostly explained by him being literally made of dark matter. I loved her rambling letters to him. They felt genuine and his obvious infatuation was also very authentic.

Absolutely LOVED and devoured this book, I could not put it down! Viv is freaking hilarious and I love her personality so much. I loved her from the very first page! And sweet baby Xietor, ughhh, he has my whole damn heart!
