He's a shape-shifting wolf, she's a psychic and his other half. In order to catch a killer he has to rely on his Seeing Eye Mate.
Caelan Graham is on the hunt for a shape-shifter bent on killing female mates. As Prime, its Caelans duty to protect his entire pack, so its a good thing he doesn't have a mate of his own to look after right now. Too bad the most alluring female has just walked past his nose.
As a clairvoyant, Tieran Jones has given up on men and their lack of understanding her gift until Caelan. The man ignites her passion, sets off a vision of a gruesome wolf attack, then shows up in her bed. In wolf form. To top it all off, he keeps insisting she's his mate.
When the attacks continue, Tieran's visions evolve and point in one direction. Caelan's twin brother. With a lack of physical evidence, Caelan must depend on Tieran's sight for clues. An act making her a prime target.

Annmarie McKenna lives with her husband and five kids in the Midwest. Throw in a dog and a cat and she’s well over her limit for the average family. Luckily, writing fantasies has proven to be an excellent way to de-stress from her daily life of being a cleaning woman, chauffeur, cook and mom. Okay, cleaning woman—not so much. She leaves that to her hubby. Now if only she could figure out how to de-stress her kids, she’d be all set.
Things happen really, really fast in this book: boy meets girl, they have sex (or mate, to use the "right" verb), she gets pregnant, they catch a killer and fall in love with each other. All that in the space of three days! It was a little out there, but it worked for me. :)
The killer's identity was pretty obvious to me, so there wasn't really a mystery to be solved, but that didn't prevent me from enjoying the story.
Note: There was a lot of puking in this book, and that was just gross. I could have lived without it.
Well... this is definitely another one for my keeper shelf. Hot stuff! Woo hoo!
This story is about a Shape-shifter werewolf "Prime"(the alpha) named Caelen who is hunting a killer on the loose. The killer is targeting the mates of werewolves and murdering them. He and his twin brother Eli are out at a bar discussing the murders when in walks a hot little human. Eli sets his sights on her, but the minute Caelan smells her, he knows she's his mate.
Tieran is a psychic. She gets visions and people think she's weird. Especially her ex-boyfriend. That's why he's her ex. She doesnt need this big, sexy, overbearing, loud, did she mention sexy? "man" trying to flirt with her.
Tieran gets away from Caelen, but he finds her. And oh yeah, does hot sex ensue! Man oh man! While they are doing the mating dance, Caelan is still trying to find out who the killer is... and it doesnt help that Tieran keeps having visions that make her think his brother Eli is the killer...
I really enjoyed this book a lot. This is only the second Annemarie McKenna book i've read.. the other being "Blackmailed" which I thoroughly enjoyed. This author knows how to write a sex scene! Wow! This book is just as hot as her other book. Great sex.. although no menage is this one. But thats ok, its still awesome!
Oh, my god. This book was so lame! It went: They meet Sex Sex "I know who did it! "You're wrong." Sex Sex "I don't want goddamn pancakes!" Sex "I still know who did it!" "You're still wrong." Sex Sex Conflict. Sex Conflict "You're the one who did it!" "Of course I am." Die, die, die More Sex The end.
DNF. I was about halfway through when I totally lost interest in what was going to happen.
The male MC was too alphholish, the female MC is so clueless (in spite of her being psychic and having visions), she has to heed her dead grandma's comments about people and what's going on in general. That also means she doesn't trust her own judgment about things, constantly needing external validation. So when she doesn't get that (her mate telling her the visions she has must be false), she gets bitchy and insecure about it. I also didn't like about the editing that you can't differentiate between her imaginary dialogue with dead grandma, and actual dialogue with living persons. Plot points I didn't like: seemingly every conversation the MCs have end in sex. I don't care if this was supposed to be erotic PNR, it was just too ridiculous, and it didn't solve things.
And I hate the whole plot-twist of "I got you pregnant immediately after intercourse, but I'm not telling you. And every other shifter can smell you're pregnant". I don't care if this is fantasy: a fertilized egg takes days before it implants into the uterus. There's no pregnancy before that.
Too bad. I like the sequel much better.

Ok, I just can't do it. I wanted to give up on page two, but forced myself to keep going, unfortunately I only made it to page four. I liked the idea, because I love weres and such but it was just too vulgar for my liking. I think the word f*** was in ever sentence about three times. Caelen's needs and his potty mouth are not very alluring. I finally stopped at the p word. Haha maybe I am a prude, I know some people like the erotica's etc.
Really needs more substance to make it great. The bones are there but too much is missing. The whole premise of this plotline just winds me up. Everyone just falls into doing what the killer wants so easily. The story and the characters are interesting enough though I find Tieran’s actions selfish in the extreme. I HATE all the murders that are happening. All those loving couples that are now destroyed due to one persons obsession with being leader. I remember being aggravated with this book before and it was a long time till I read the next book. I just find the fact Tieran is having visions of the murders and is reluctant to give out information just wrong. All these poor women are being murdered and she sparingly gives them as few clues as she can get away with. Yes I understand the problem in having been belittled previously but that was years ago and she was proven right in the end. Also her thinking it is Eli and Caelan doesn’t believe it which is understandable but if she talked everything through someone may pick up something she hasn’t. WOMEN ARE BEING MURDERED whilst she says practically nothing. Instead of speaking of her visions straight away she deflects by having sex with Caelan. Not good. Caelan is too busy having sex with his mate to take care of his pack which is being overwhelmed by someone murdering the female mates. What about the males who have lost their mates, what is he doing to console them. Not a great leader to my mind. I have a few books by this author and this series is probably the one I like least. Had read and reviewed this book and book 2 many years ago. My reviews have disappeared.
“Seeing Eye Mate” is a fast-paced mystery that kept me guessing until the end. My favorite part of this book is the plot. The main character, Tieran, has car troubles instigated by the ghost of her dead grandmother. She enters a bar to be picked up by her destined mate, Caelan. His twin almost gets t other first but Caelan reluctantly claims her first. While he is reluctant in this first scene, he quickly changes his tune with the first naughty scene. It is dropped so quickly I questioned the authenticity of his reluctance. Tieran is reluctant too, but because she is coming out of a bad break-up. Her reluctance is more consistent than Caelan’s but her motivations change as Caelan tries to control her. He waffles between being a nice guy and being a stereotypical alpha werewolf.
Despite the inconsistent love story, I was gripped by the mystery of who is the serial killer in the pack. We are walked through the investigation via Tieran’s psychic visions which I loved. Instead of being omniscient, she is inside one of the people at the scene, so we only get half of the crime. Not enough detail to give everything away but McKenna gives just enough to keep the reader guessing. I also appreciated that this book wasn’t overly gory or graphic. Yes, there is blood but Tieran’s episodes bring us out before the most violent crimes are committed. Overall, I recommend this book to those who are looking for a mystery with erotic elements instead of a romance.
The overall story was engrossing but the the characters were weirdly overly emotional all the time & sometimes it was hard to understand who was saying what & it had one of the most insufferable main characters I've ever read. The clairvoyant Tieran was cowardly, mousy, whiny, childish, irritating, melodramatic, selfish & moronic.
She has a vision of a woman being BRUTALLY murdered but she denies seeing anything & when she gets busted by the one person who could help her, this is how she behaves:
“I’m serious, Tieran, tell me about your vision. And don’t bother trying to deny it, you’ve already given yourself away. If you know something else, I need to know. This goes beyond you and me, my own.” “Ooohh.” If she could stomp her foot in this position, she would. As it was, her knees were starting to hurt something fierce from the hard tiles beneath them. “You and my grandmother. ‘It goes beyond just you and me’,” she mocked.
Oh yeah & as per usual with visions, hers didn't make any sense until the killer was right in front her about to kill her with a knife... so yaaaay visions!
I wanted to know how it ended so I finished the book but ughhhhhhhhhh I am glad to be done with her & I will not continue with the series.

Caelan-prime,were Tieran-clairvoyant,she can also see visions and talk to her dead grandmother Eli-Caelan's younger by a few minutes brother:identical twin Nikki-were,eli has a crush/wanting to mate her Derek-were,friend of eli's Liam-Caelan and Eli's father, were, once prime Judith-Caelan and Eli's mother, Liam's wife, were Michael Hayward-were,tieran knew something was off and odd about him when he first touched her arm
Caelan was talking to Eli at a bar when Eli looked over his shoulder at a female that he imidiately took interest in.Caelan thought the women was just a women until he sniffed the air, and knew instantly that she was meant to be his mate. and not a the perfect time apparently, because there have been attack on prime's mates around the world, and caelan wasnt worry about his mate because he doesnt have one....right until she came in. Tieran's car crashed infront of a bar, so she had to go inside.her grandmother that she can communicate with keeps telling her that her car broke down because of fate.and that she was ganna meet her fate in the bar/club. For wolfs, mating with a human and getting her pregnant with a wolf-shifter was a gifted miracle, because their child could shift back to human or were anytime they want, while others mate with weres and their child has to shift each full moon.
The guy didnt know that caelan would find his mate at the bar,he went to sneak and hide and listen to what they said about his kills on the female weres, and he was satisfied of what he heard.every step he takes leads him closer to what he was suppose to be since birth.but he knows that the female has to die, either that or he can make his move on her b4 caelan does and get her to mate with him instead.Amy was here. you're stupid for not adding me. That is a BIG mistake.
later on caelan mates with tieran without tieran knowing what he is and that he was mating to her.now she is carrying his child without even knowing it. caelan knows that tieran's talent for seeing what is happening and her visions put her on the top for killing if the murderer finds out that she can see him through her visions that she has.
Tieran finds out that caelan is a were when she wakes up to see a wolf by her side that was staring at her with eyes just like caelans. Tieran had a vision of the murderer of one of the female mates that were killed.the killer had a scar that was on one side of his shoulder, and when tieran looked at eli's shoulder she saw a scar that was identical there at the same spot as the killers.but caelan told her that it couldnt have been eli because he would never do such a thing. Tieran meets the pack elders and other people and she meant Michael Hayward and felt that something was off about him.later on Eli woke up to be laying on the ground and michael-the were from his own pack arrested him, and eli saw him smile while he was staring at eli get arrested. tieran continures to have visions about the killer and every vision she has of the man looks just identical to eli. later on tieran finds out that Hayward was the killer and the traitor.turns out he setted everything up for eli and he made tieran think eli was the one killing everybody...later on caelan comes in time to save tieran and tieran has a vision of what her baby looks like.its a boy, that looks like the splitting image of Caelan.their son. #125

Well, this was something different to read! I loved it! A lot of hot sexy stuff....that leave you wanting more and more and more and more...you get the point! LOL ;p The story was great, the mystery was awesome, the characters were easy to connect to and funny as hell, and the romance was just....MIND BLOWING!!
The story is about a Shape-shifter werewolf, Caelen, who is also the "Prime" or the alpha of the pack. He is hunting a killer who is murdering the mates of other shape sifters in the community. He and his twin brother Eli are at a bar trying to figure out the mystery behind the murders when in walks Tieran. Eli immediately wants the hot woman but when Caelan gets a whiff of her scent, he knows she's his mate. (There was some growling on Caelan’s part in this scene to get Eli to “sit the fuck down” and away from his mate. LOL ;p) Caelan is just WOW! He’s big, sexy, overbearing, loud, pure hot alpha male....and did I mention hot as hell? I totally fell in love with him...even if he kinda did drive Tieran ape shit crazy (the only way to describe how Tieran feels around him!) I loved his instinct reaction to protect Tieran no matter what....and I especially loved how easy it was for him to accept his mate! That was very sweet!
Tieran is human but she’s also a psychic (gets visions of anyone she encounters) and oh yeah..she can also talk to her grandma...her dead grandma! I know, she is kind of awesome! =) I loved Tieran, she was soooo funny and sassy..and I adored how she drove Caelen crazy with her witty remarks! Oh and did I mention I love her also because of her MOUNTAIN DEW OBSESSION!! I LOVE MOUNTAIN DEW.....SHE STOLE MY HEART THE FIRST TIME SHE POPPED OPEN THAT CAN..FOR BREAKFAST, THEN LUCH AND..OH YEAH DINNER TOO! LOL XD She had a great personality...and I had loads of fun reading her hilarious parts in the book! My sides still hurt from laughing sooo hard...*rubbing sides*
Anyway, so while Tieran and Caelen, are resolving their mating situation, Caelan is still trying to find the killer...but this time with the help of Tieran’s visions. Although, things don’t go exactly as planned when..Tieran keeps having visions that make her think his brother Eli is the killer...
Yeah....I know it sounds wonderful, amazing, eye catching, thrilling, mysterious, romantic, funny and yes HOT!! The story was just perfect...and Caelan and Tieran’s relationship was spicy! The sex between those two...MAN OH MAN!!! HOT HOT HOT STUFF.....it will leave you all hot and bothered!!! Trust me....I know but I have to say it was crazy fun as well! LOL :) I also enjoyed Caelan’s family..his dad and mom were so sweet and accepting of Tieran and her ability to see visions. I just loved them!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I had so much fun reading it. This is my first book by Annemarie McKenna and I am very glad I read it! I can’t wait to get started on Checkmate, Eli’s book next! ELI HERE I COME!! =)
This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Annmarie McKenna. I picked it up at a used bookstore so I was like "may as well give it a try". I'm glad I did.
As Prime Caelan Graham has his hands full, but added to his plate is the fact that there is someone brutally killing the mates of Primes from other wolf shape-shifter packs. At this point he is beyond happy that he has no mate of his own. He and his twin brother Eli are at a local bar discussing pack business when...
In walks Tieran Jones who is a touch sensitive seer and throw in for good measure that she is slightly a medium only in the fact that she speaks to her dead grandmother. By the way her grandmother is a matchmaker of epic proportions. She is hesitant to enter into another relationship when she carries the burden of her gifts and the last man she trusted ridiculed and abandoned her.
All it takes is one whiff of her sent and Caelan recognizes her as his true mate. All he has to do is get her to believe it and make sure she doesn't end up dead. And so begins the chase...
I thought that the story was really good it kept me reading until I was through then right on to the next one. I liked it, the characters definitely had chemistry (*steamy*) and there were other struggles to overcome before Tieran and Caelan could truly be together. Though they almost instantly get together physically; the emotional stuff takes time which I really enjoy. What can I say I love the struggle to be together and the drama that ensues. The chase is great and the added suspense of trying to discover who the killer is and whether...it could be Caelan's twin who is behind it. Take a bite out of this book you won' regret it.
I rated this book a 4. It may not have been the best werewolf...or as Caelan likes to call them shape-shifters book that I've read so far but I do think that it is a great book and a must read for any fan of shape-shifter romance.
Im not going into to much detail but this book wasnt bad, easy to follow, very well written, good story line (could of been a bit more blood and guts for my liking) with great sex sences. I just wasnt glued to it, i had no trouble putting the book down but saying that, i did want to finish it. This book being a PNR was a real who did it kind of story line ( never really did like it was professer plum in library with the candle stick kind of story line), not my cup of tea but like i said its still a good book to read. The whole book leads up to the big fight at the end which for me was its big flop, the fight is short and really no to interesting. but then again Annmarie has keep this book a in the relm of normal as possible( a far as u can with werewolves in it.) i like the far out there stuff, u know the kind of stuff where u say "oh fuck that thats not possible." but anyway a quick run down of the plot, werewolf find it mate, sex with and protection of the mate blah blah blah, the main female in this book can see things and she has to help her mate find a killer that is killing off other werewlves mate, she see the murder as they happen but never see the werewolf doing it, she see little things here and there that make her think the killer is someone els.... i found that even i find this book a bit dull but still good, i had not problem conecting with her, she a little hell cat but not to much... the two to main males in the book and brothers and really not to interesting for werewolves, but again theres still something about them that you connect with.. ok ive said enough, this book is good in a keep it really but not kind of way. i give it 4 stars but its not a book ill read again any time soon. it well written, easy to follow if u have a brain, there is 2 books in this series but im going to hold off on reading Checkmate for while.
Tieran's personality was annoying, kind of bratty. She resisted telling Caelan and was sometimes reluctant to tell him what he needed to know about her visions. She frequently gave smart-alecky answers to him. She also acted cowardly when Caelan was introducing her to his friends and family - she tried to hide behind Caelan, and then at her first chance, she went outside to get away from them all. They were friendly and accepting of her, but her actions were rude. I didn't like her.
CAUTION SPOILER: The author used a cheap trick to create the danger and rescue at the end. Caelan had been staying with Tieran to protect her from the killer who was after her and other mates. The killer arrives at Caelan's home and tells Caelan a lie about Caelan's brother Eli. Caelan decides to go find and help Eli. He leaves Tieran with the killer and says that after he leaves, Tieran should call his father to come over to stay with her. Of course, the killer doesn't let her make the phone call and proceeds to tie her up. At least, Caelan himself should have called his father before he left. Or, he should have taken Tieran over to his father's. He was not a friend with the killer and they had previously argued/fought. Why he would leave his wife with someone he did not like or trust did not work for me. The author should have come up with something better.

I liked the beginning. I liked the ending. But the middle irritated me beyond belief. Let me tell you all my feelings about the middle:
I don't know if I'm being persnickety or what, but the middle of this book feels to me like shifters: you're doing it wrong. I'm not convinced by the relationship (give me more getting-to-know-eachother, more relationship-building, more feelings, less insta-love), the mate killings feel like a crude "woman in fridge" plot device, and… I'm not charmed. I'm not compelled. I have no warm fuzzies. :(
I remember liking book 2. Is it me, or is it the book? … … …
I know what part of the problem is. The heroine is given no choice, everything steamrolls over her. She has suspicions and is told that she's wrong. She's impregnated before the how'd-you-dos are over. She has the mate killer after her and it's obvious he's going to attack her. The hero hauls her around physically (he's not abusive, but he's chest-poundingly "I'm doing this to protect you" overruling her choices.) The sex doesn't make up for all this. Not even close.
Nope. I just didn't like it. And it made me mad. >:(
I'm also irritated to the point of rage by the fact that he calls her "my own," and that it's a shifter mate endearment. My inner nerdy language history learner insists it should be "mine own." And now I'm just nitpicking!
Book one of the graham mates series, an interesting psychic human, shapeshifter erotic romance with some mystery and horror thrown in.
Caelan Graham is the prime shapeshifter and runs his own security company he is having enough trouble trying to find a shifter that’s killing other shifter mates the last thing he expects is to meet his mate Tieran who has psychic abilities and talks to her dead grandmother, she has given up on men but Caelan is determined to prove she can trust him it slowly takes her time to trust him with a few bumps on the way because she has visions of the killer and believes it to be Caelans twin brother Eli, and he doesn’t believe causing her to hesitate in revealing future visions, one thing I didn’t like was the fact as soon as he saw her he knew she was his mate but he smelt her going into heat meaning he can get pregnant and does, with little thought on using protection or if maybe she didn’t want children but gets her pregnant anyway, but she still is having visions of the killer who goes after her, turns out it isn’t Caelans brother after all but detective Michael Hayward who wants to take over the pack he kidnaps her, she gets rescued by her mate and happy ending.
Caelan is a shape-shifting wolf, and out at a bar with his twin bar talking about the recent disturbing killings of other shifters. Suddenly he smells something amazing and knows its a woman and she is destined to be his. Tieran is only in the bar while waiting for a tow truck but he follows her outside and helps her when the tow truck driver hits on her, but she rebuffs Caelan anyway. Tieran is a clairvoyant who stays away from people because touching people can lead to visions and most people think she is a freak, plus she talks to her dead grandma. Little does she know that Caelan works for a security company and is going to come visit her at home. Once he gets there their spark is there and even she cant ignore it. But she also starts getting visions of the killings and starts to suspect his twin. Caelan keeps encouraging Tieran to tell him all about her visions but knows in his heart that his brother didnt do it. She is thrown into the lives of the wolf shifters and somehow becomes the key to finding the killer. I enjoyed this book. Tieran is just quirky enough yet understandably defensive. Caelan's parents are great and luckily tell him what an idiot he is.
This is the first book I've read by this author, and it was pretty good. This was about shifters, and the prime (the alpha) of one pack was trying to catch a killer. Called the "Mate Killer", the person was targeted mates of shifters in Caelan's pack. Since he is the prime of the pack he feels responsible for failing those shifters that had their mates murdered.
Tieran is just another human woman who happens to be a psychic and can speak with her dead grandmother. When her car suddenly breaks down outside a bar, she thinks it's just a bad situation.. but she ends up meeting Caelan, who is her mate. He needs her help to find the Mate Killer before he kills another innocent woman.
I thought it was a good storyline, and it was a little different. I've read shifter books before, and I've read psychic books before, but I haven't often seen them put together. I will definitely read another book by McKenna.
I actually didn't finish this book, got a bit over half way, because it just got to the point where I DID NOT CARE what happened to the characters or who the serial killer was. When you get to that point, I usually consider the book bad or at least not for me. I didn't feel invested or interested at all and I found it difficult to like Tieran or Caelan. It was just so meh.
Luckily I was able to return the book to Amazon (I was reading a Kindle version) and get a refund which also shows that I will never care to go back and find out what happened. There was so much of the stereotypical "I have just met you but I know, before even seeing you, that you are y mate and I will only love you forever and ever and my super wolf-sperm will make you pregnant IMMEDIATELY!" from Caelan and Tieran just seemed like this sort of whiny "my life is hard but I don't really fight against what's happening to me that much" little loser.
Seeing Eye Mate is about a shape shifter Caelan and is brother are taking a night off at a bar. They've been working really hard to find a killer who keeps killing mates in the shifter communities. On this night Caelan finds his mate Tieran. But little does he know she has a little bit of power herself. She is a psychic. And this makes her number one on their enemies hit list. She also starts having visions about the killer, so that makes it oh so worse.
Along the way Tieran has to learn about shape shifters, being a mate, and try to trust someone again with her abilities. All of this is a lot to take in for, so it is a bumpy ride.
Overall this book was okay. I enjoyed the plot, and the fact that Tieran had powers herself. But I just couldn't connect with the characters. I mean everything else was good in the book, and it was written very well but I guess it just wasn't the book for me.
Predictable and despite its fast pace, it left you wanting something more that was simply not there. This was not a romance book but more of a thriller erotica which is not what I was looked to read. The supernatural world was not properly explained especially with the swapping of words (like "alpha" and "prime"), it left the paranormal aspect lacking any positive addition it could have made to the book.
The romantic aspect was non-existent. There was no development and because of the fact that the paranormal aspect did not properly tie in to the story, there relationship was just sex. I hate the whole cave man crap, when the heroine disregards her opinions because she wants to sleep with him, it made her look like a weak female lead which made me dislike her.
I regret reading this book and only read it because the synopsis for the second one intrigued me.
This was one of the best books I've read in a long time. It had a great mix of humor, passion & suspense. It actually reminded me very much of Gena Showalter's, Playing With Fire & Twice As Hot, except much more explicit. The Heroine, Tieran was very sarcastic & a bit clumsy making her character very endearing. Yet still a strong, capable woman. Caelan was the typical Alpha male, though I thought his snips of anger were often a bit over-board. Still, he became endearing as well. I actually had to set the book down several times to keep from waking the house because I was laughing so loudly. I highly recommend this book.
The sex was hot, but the story was not. Bottom Line: Try before you buy Nothing like a hot though reluctant Alpha male, to get the heart pumping. Some good sex scenes, but the story wasn't strong enough...which leads me to the author, and the development (i.e. foundation) of this story. There wasn't enough of it, or it was intentionally written to be a fairly light read. If you want to read some hot sex scenes, and aren't as concerned about a story with a lot of depth, read it...if not, pass it. Better werewolf authors, Keri Arthur, Patricia Briggs. Comment
