A Life That Leads: Pursuing Christ and Impacting Others

Rate this book
Have you ever felt unqualified to lead or serve because you lack training or a title? Many Christians wrestle with the misconception that leadership is reserved for those with extraordinary gifts or positions of power. But what if true leadership is more about the life you lead than the platform you stand on?

Drawing from the New Testament letters, Josh Benadum dismantles the myth that leadership is about credentials and shows instead how it is rooted in Christlike character and a willingness to serve—an overflow of who we are in Christ that impacts our families, workplaces, and communities.

If you’ve ever doubted your ability to make an eternal difference, this book will empower you to pursue Christ, make real disciples, and live a life that leads right where you are.

So I’ve been reading Marcus Aralias and there’s something to be said for works that inspire you may presenting a sheer list of attractive qualities. Many books on leadership fall into this category. It’s like you can bottle vision simply by sequencing the right words together. This book ain’t that.

While other books on leadership may be more eloquent (Sanders) Benadum writes with a freshness and relevance that speaks to our age. The church needs leaders—simply put—people who follow Christs example.

One of the best features in this book is each chapters segment reminding the reader that Jesus himself had this quality.

This book reminds us that leadership isn’t just for type-A’s or for old men with names like Ulysses. You don’t purchase it from seminars or catch it from proximity to larger than life influencers. It’s home grown in the heart of every believer who pays attention to the way Jesus lived.
A Life That Leads provides useful incites on leadership from a real go-getter and reminds us that true leadership comes from well fought routines established by our Lord and the life He led.

This book is an incredibly practical and thought provoking look at Christian leadership, not just for those who hold an official title but for anyone who desires to have an impact for Christ.

The chapter Soul and Skill was my personal favorite - where the author discusses how is it BOTH results and methods that matter in the expansion of Gods kingdom.

This would be a great read for anyone hoping to sharpen their mind and ministry skills, or to read alongside someone you are mentoring.
