Prophecy: Book One of The Legends of Overa

Rate this book
In the richly woven world of Overa, a land where uneasy truces bind together diverse peoples—elves of many kinds, wolf-men, cat folk, humans, dwarves, enigmatic plant folk, wizards, and mighty dragons—peace is little more than a breath between battles. For centuries, old blood feuds and hard-won alliances have shaped the fate of the land, but none more so than the shadow cast by the great dragon Mors, who razed the legendary kingdom of Fenra, driving men and dwarves into exile and shattering hope for a future of a balanced world.
Peter, an orphaned young man, has trained since childhood under the watchful eye of Hár, a loyal dwarf and one of the few survivors of Fenra’s fall. Peter’s entire existence has been preparation for one to slay Mors and fulfill a prophecy whispered among the exiles. Set in motion by the enigmatic wizard Fenragell, a desperate company of humans and dwarves embarks on a perilous quest to reclaim Fenra’s ashes and return the throne to its rightful heir—a lost prince, rumored to yet live.
Their journey is fraught with peril at every turn. The elves, now the dominant power in Overa, would rather see the old kingdom’s memory extinguished than risk their hard-won dominion. The wolf-men, driven by bloodlust and ambition, prowl the wilds, seeking enslavement to fuel their conquests and especially hungering for the subjugation of mankind. Each race’s own agenda threatens to unravel the fragile company, and trust is a rare commodity on the long road to Fenra.
As the company draws close to its goal, Peter is confronted with a shattering revelation, one of such significance that it could turn the world upside down. The secret now becomes both a beacon of hope and a dire risk, for Mors and his enemies hunt him with equal fervor. With the fate of a kingdom and the future of all races at stake, Peter must enter Fenra’s ruined heart alone to face Mors in a battle not only of sword and strength, but of wit and will.
Cornered in the dragon’s lair, Peter stands upon the precipice of oblivion. Will he escape the jaws of Mors, reclaim the kingdom, and bring balance to Overa as Fenragell envisions? Or will the ancient dragon’s fire snuff out the last hope of any such dreams, dooming Fenra to oblivion and leaving the land forever fractured? In the crucible of fire and fate, the destiny of Overa hangs in the balance of one young man.
