Sable and Wynn have kept their relationship quiet. Love cupids and loss cupids are too different, after all. But cupid society wasn't always separated. When Elder Meir hatches a plot to use Sable and Wynn to prove cupids work better together, Sable and Wynn are all in. However, the plot requires they travel to the human world to tackle a very complicated case of love and loss where failure isn't an option. They can only hope their bond will be enough to overcome the odds.
When Mell Eight was in high school, she discovered dragons. Beautiful, wondrous creatures that took her on epic adventures both to faraway lands and on journeys of the heart. Mell wanted to create dragons of her own, so she put pen to paper. Mell Eight is now known for her own soaring dragons, as well as for other wonderful characters dancing across the pages of her books. While she mostly writes paranormal or fantasy stories, she has been seen exploring the real world once or twice.

I liked the story. It was short and smoking hot. I haven’t read many novellas with more sexy times than this one without an “erotica” label, and I’m not sad about the steam. I’ve read a bunch of dragon shifter romances from this author with barely a kiss and cuddle, so it was fun to see a different facet in their writing. The idea that there are different flavors of cupid was intriguing, and the author sold me on needing Loss cupids to help some people move on from troubled situations. I adored how Sable and Wynn loved each other and respected one another so much. Their strong connection seemed to bolster their magical endeavors, and that was fun to experience.
Mell Eight does one thing they do really well in Cupids’ Arrows - take a well-worn trope and make it fresh again. Cupids aren't just harbingers of love but half of them are purveyors of loss. The reader is introduced to how these can work in tandem for the betterment of humans in the prologue. Amazingly enough, the cupid hierarchy actually takes notice of this positive interaction and calls on all cupids to volunteer for a challenging case. Of course just our heroes from the prologue want to take on the case and the story goes from there. Lest the potential reader think there is only action in the novella, there is also bedroom activity too. And, like all good romances, everyone, human and cupid alike, gets their HEA. I received an advanced reader copy of the novella, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Sable, is a loss Cupid, when love needed to end Sable was there to help. Wynn, is a love Cupid, helping people find true and lasting love. Historically love and loss cupids don’t share relationships but Sable and Wynn bucked tradition and fell in love.
This was a short, sweet, and spicy love story. I liked the idea of love (or loss) coming from an arrow crafted for the specific subject. Very imaginative.
No drama, just straight forward storytelling. This author creates small worlds with just enough information to make the plot work. I always wish the books were longer though.

Cupid's Arrow is a quick Achillean fantasy romance with an established couple who not only brings chemistry but toys (chuckle). I loved this novella and I think you will too.

This was a sweet little valentine’s book. Quite erotic which I wasn’t expecting and yet really liked (either works for me). It’s very quick about nothing at all, just them being them. I liked it for exactly what it was.
