Soren and Aradia have taken a leap and accepted their bonds, but the ground has slipped out from beneath them. With war’s heavy breath at the back of their necks, Soren and Aradia must set out to gain the alliance of two treacherous courts, where family means little in the quest for loyalty.
While Soren’s obsession with the light he sees in Aradia spirals, an ancient force rises from the shadows of his past to tear her away. However, one question remains how can you fight an enemy who wears the face of a friend?
The next installment of The Hargrave Empire promises a seductive, high-stakes game of survival waged between secret lovers with an ending you won’t see coming!
Perfect for readers who loved A Vow of Shadow and Blood by Charlene Antrobus and Unraveled by Abbey Fox
Author’s This book is not suitable for all readers due to sexually explicit scenes. We recommend this book for adult audiences only.
My adrenaline is still doing laps around the room after this one! Soren and Aradia are back, fully bonded and ready to burn the world down for their kingdom. Except the world seems very determined to burn them first. The stakes are higher, the danger darker, and the trust issues? Off the charts.
Let’s talk about Soren for a moment. My delightful, dirty talking vampire daddy is absolutely down bad for his new wife and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Protective, obsessive, and completely feral for Aradia? Oh, indeed.
And Aradia. A saucy queen. She’s clever, quick on her feet, and just as obsessed with Soren as he is with her. Their dynamic is chaos in the best way.
The spice is perfectly placed, beautifully written, and let’s just say you may want an icy beverage nearby.
Let's not forget Midas. Icon. Legend. Bestie to Soren? Bestie to Aradia? Honestly both and we love him for it.
But the real question this book leaves you with is: WHO CAN YOU TRUST? Because by the end of this book I trusted exactly two people… Soren and Aradia. Everyone else is suspect until proven otherwise.
The twists in this book?? Not little plot bumps. No. These are full on narrative gut punches. The kind that make you stop, reread the page, and yell at your book while your brain scrambles to recover. Twists. Betrayals. Battles. Secrets. Lies. My poor nervous system never stood a chance.
That cliffhanger!! Excuse me?? What the absolute emotional sabotage was that? Ladies, respect!! How long until book three? Because I am sitting here in the wreckage. Broken. Unwell.
* thank you to The O'Connell Sisters and Book Sirens for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.
Thank you so much to the O'Connell sisters for letting me ARC read book 2!
I could not wait to get back to Soren (My Love). 'Good little witch' gets me every time. This book had a lot more action in it and a lot more spicy scenes 🤤. The things I would let Soren do to me.... 😂
Also, I kind of grew an attachment to Midas haha. I really loved his character.
AND THAT ENDING?! I don't want to give anything away, but UGHHHH... I need the next book soon!!
I was so excited to start this after reading book 1 (Ravenous Deception) and THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I loved the world building and character development for all of them (even the side characters) as well as introducing more characters. I loved the dynamic between the MMC and FMC because he was definitely a lover boy in this book and that’s one of my favorite tropes “only sweet to her.” I really loved seeing more details that have to do with Soren’s curse, I won’t be elaborating more because that would be a spoiler but there’s definitely a lot more to it… I am currently staring at a blank white wall because of that cliffhanger ending so I’m very ready for book 3! Sooooo good!
