This was a good short dark erotic non-con that I liked. Jacob MacFadden is a man with a bright future and a single burning desire - his best friend Yvonne. Since early adolescence, Yvonne's self-destructive patterns have led her into the arms of abusive jerks but never into a relationship with the man who cares for her most. And since Jacob has mended her broken hearts since high school, the time has come for a change. Convinced he can sculpt Yvonne into a wiser woman, Jacob throws everything on the line to forge his masterpiece. The first step in his plan was to kidnap her. This book was very interesting with a twist on the psychology of being mixed with the intense sex scenes as well. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. This is my first time reading this author and this is the first book in a new series for me. It was kind of odd to think of what Jake did to his friend to make her a better person. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Social Experiments is an interesting twist on the psychology of being mixed with the intense sex scenes one expects from an erotic novel. Jacob's and Yvonne's relationship starts out conventional enough, best friends with one pining after the other. In this case, it is the stable and always reliable Jacob. Friends for over a decade, Jacob has kept his true feelings from Yvonne, figuring that the toads she's focused on will eventually run their course and she'll realize he's truly the one she needs. And he's right, but the path that needs to be taken to get Yvonne to hopefully see that, requires a different kind of courtship, one that hasn't been acceptable since the days of Vikings and conquering armies.

This novel creatively explores why women are attracted to "bad boys" and exactly how far Jacob is willing to go to not only be the man Yvonne wants and needs but also maintain his sense of self.

I don’t read a lot of erotica, having become a little tired of same-old sex descriptions, but I must say author Olivia Storm has a talent for planting surprising plot twists chapter by chapter. Captive is the first book in the Social Experiments series. For much of the book, I was horrified by what the narrator, Jake, forced on his roommate and longtime “friend” Yvonne in the name of making her a better person. However, without giving anything away, Yvonne ends up pulling the strings. She becomes a willing submissive, but she’s no slave. The author has me hooked for Book 2.

I received this for an honest review. First book I have read from this author. It's not like any that I have read. Jake and Yvonne best friends for years. He has loved her most of his life. Watching her go through the wrong guys,Jake has had enough. He tries an unconventional way,but it works for them. If you like dark, murder, and bdsm then you need to check it out.

I was given this book for a honest review and I honestly can say that I loved this book from the beginning to the end of the book. In the book yes, there is a lot of dark places in the book and if you are not into really dark books then this would not be a book for you to be reading. Jake is in love with Yvonne for 10 years, which he was not able to act on them till it was to hard for him. The means that he acts on his feelings to Yvonne is something you would not think about a person would do. I did not see at first half of the things that he ends up doing to her but he went with what he thought was the best at the time to be able to get her attention for him. Yes, he ends up making lots of lies in the book to other people but he wanted her to himself and could not have anyone else take her from him or tell anyone what was going on or where she was really at. But it is bad when the lie starts to come so easy to him that people are believing it is all the truth. Yes, she did not in the book live a great time and that would make it easier for the person to lie. It is hard when the girl you love will not give you the time or day and keeps going out with other people. I think that this book was able to capture me so fast because it showed the emotions that the main character was going through and what he had to do to get the girls attention. I can not wait to see what he ends up doing in the second book when it continues where it is left off. I want to see what he ends up doing and how he ends up finally deciding on the best thing that could benefit both of them. I want to see what she ends up doing and if she keeps her promise to him that she will not run off and tell anyone what has happened in the time she had "gone away." This was a great book and ended right at the right spot. Great writing and great job on the book!

I was gifted an Ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't sure what I was getting into with this book. I am intrigued when reading psychological aspects in books. I get caught up in crime/serial killer books, but I also like to read romance/erotica books that I felt I may have a combination of both.

Jacob and his best friend Yvonne live together. He constantly is in the background watching her make bad boyfriend choices. She is self centered and takes advantage of her best friend's generosity and kindness. Jacob comes to a conclusion enough is enough.

He puts his plan into action by abducting Yvonne. His plan consists of him molding and shaping Yvonne into the woman she should and could be. He always wants to to realize that he is the only man who truly loves her and he is the man for her.

I recommend that you read this book because it will draw you in and you will want to know what is going to happen next. Will Jacob's plan work to mold Yvonne into the woman he feels she can be? Will she fall in love with her best friend or will she hate him for the actions he takes starting with the abduction! I can't wait to read the next book!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

Jacob has spent most of his life in love and obsessed with his best friend Yvonne. Why can't she see that Jacob is so much better than the douche bags she dates? Of course he keeps his opinions to himself and is there for her when she needs him. Yvonne is a high maintenance kind of woman. She doesn't hesitate to drop some money on a pair of shoes. Knowing Jacob will help her only fuels her wild ways. One day Jacob has had enough. Yvonne must be saved and Jacob is the one who will save her

This book.....wow! I was instantly drawn into the story and couldn't put it down. Finished it in one sitting. I love Olivia's style of writing and how she developed each character. Of course the sex scenes were HOT!! I seriously can't wait for more! I can say with confidence I am now a huge fan

** I was gifted this book in return for an honest review** Where to begin? My mind was blown after this read.. I just couldn't get my head around Jacob's actions or thoughts. I understand why he did it... Years of watching the girl he loved being mistreated by boyfriends.. watching her closely yet unable to touch and claim her as his own. So he took drastic action to get the girl.. I was just shocked at how he achieved what he wanted. He was a good guy, all that love yet.. against her will. He actually believed he was doing no wrong. This read is not for the faint of heart, I found it rather hard to read in places, but to understand you have to read the whole story.. I have given this book 5 stars, It was a very good book to read. I cant wait to see where this book is going to lead, this series has certainly started with a bang!

Social Experiments is the first part of what can only be described as a hot, sexy as hell, dark story of murder, love , trust and discipline with a twist .
Jake and Yvonne's relationship starts out as best friends through their high school years which leads them being flat mates with Jake being infatuated with Yvonne seeing all the mistakes with her love life and knows how to make her see what's right in front of her . Will he make her see sense ? But how ? Will it work ? Who knows !
I can not wait to read what happens next . This book was an easy to read story that got you sucked in from the start. You know that saying " just one more chapter "? Yep , well that was me reading this , one more chapter after the other . Now I have to sit here and twiddle my thumbs until we find out what happens next . Well done Olivia , brilliant !

Well I just finished this book and I have already forgotten the main characters names, seriously I put the book down an hour ago... That tells me something.
The Heroine (term used loosely) is whiney, annoying, self centered and spoiled. The Hero (?) turns from being a soft cock to being a hard ass then back to being a soft cock again by the end. I mean who is in charge here??
Was ok but didn't love it.. sorry. 2 and a 1/2 stars.

This book was a really good read. Jake in the beginning was the good guy who was the friend who always picked up the pieces and was walked all over by the women he loved. Then he changed to get the woman he loved or did he was it in him? I really loved it, I can't wait, what a cliff hanger...hurry up and bring out the next book!!

Jacob & Yvonne have been BFF's for years & she has been living with him for awhile. He's been in love with her for years watching while she dates nothing but losers & always taking his friendship for granted. Jacob has had enough of her bullshit so he decides to kidnap her & re-condition her mind to his way of thinking.

Jake is learning to be a dom in the most unusual way. I think on some level he may be a sociopath, but on another level he is truly a good guy. I am not sure what to make of him.

Jake believes that Yvonne is redeemable and takes extreme measures to get her to be a good person. I am curious about where this series goes and what the neighbor has to with it all.

4 Crazy Stars!!!

This is a great, quick HOT read! I'm still undecided on my feelings for Jake & Yvonne's relationship especially with Cassie getting involved in the mix. I'm eager to read the next installment to see how thus will play out.

I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and a review.

This book is for 18+ as the subject matter is not for the faint hearted.

Jacob MacFadden is a man with a very bright future ahead of him. as well as having a burning desire. his best friend Yvonne. Since his early Teenage year, Yvonne has a self-destructive pattern which have led her into the arms of a few abusive a-holes but never into a proper loving relationship, or with the man who cares for her the most.

Since Jacob has mended her broken hearts for so many years even in high school, the time has come for a shake up and a change.

but is it the right thing to do?

Jacob is convinced he can make Yvonne in to a better and wiser woman, Jacob is throwing everything on the line to forge this his best masterpiece.

Abduction is but the first step.

It's time to do things his way the best way of all.

This is a good short book the subject matter may not be for all but Olivia writes it well

WOW!!! I don’t know where to start or even how to review this book. I have very mixed feelings. While the story did draw me in to the point I wanted to know what was going to happen, the story itself just throws me. I honestly cannot understand the actions of the main characters or their thought process. I cannot tell if these two are just demented or psychopaths. I mean seriously, who does this and think it is right or even okay??? But in all honesty I will probably read the next book, because I was drawn in and really want to know what happens and want to know if there will be any insight to the thoughts and actions of these characters.

Wow - very interesting story! Jake has been in love with Yvonne for years, but she only sees him as a friend. She's a mooch who takes advantage of his generosity while dating losers. After he discovers her current boyfriend is beating her, he decides things need to change. So, he kidnaps her so he can train her to become a better person. This is a dark, sexy book with great characters. Yvonne is immature and selfish, and even though Jake does unspeakable things, I still really liked him. Although I detest the practice of splitting a book up into short parts, I do look forward to reading the next installment.

Jake has been head over heels for Yvonne since high school. She's only seen him as a way of cheap room via roommate status.

After Yvonne's latest flavor of the month decides he wants to ruff her up a bit Jake decides he's going to show Yvonne one way or the other how he feels about her.

Jake takes matters into his own hands in some rather intricate ways. To his his surprise though, those ways are exactly what Yvonne is craving. Can she actually end up falling in love with her captive?

Supposed dark non consent story. The psychology is way off, she flips in a matter of days.
The sex is good but to rushed.
Sadly, the beginning was strong up until the confrontation with her boyfriend.

Jacob tries some twisted measures to get his best friend Yvonne to change her spoiled ways and to see him as more than the best friend she can walk all over.

I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind rape, enjoys BDSM, and a dark story line.

Well written, crazy

The story, the plot is kind of nuts. Not because of what he does - there are lots of examples of men kidnapping and keeping women hidden- but how Yvonne takes it is a bit hard to believe. That the story us written well helps.

You know, I actually enjoyed this book. It was a little far-fetched in places, but I was able to enjoy it for what it was; a short, dark, non-con erotica. I was planning on reading the sequel, but I can't seem to find it anywhere!

DNF. Completely boring and unbelievable. Characters had no depth or rhyme or reason to their actions. It was like watching a bad soap opera. And the H was no Alpha either! Total let down.
