When shadows hunger and power is a double-edged blade, Croía awakens to a darkness that knows her name. Her gift is no blessing, it is a prize, and the ruthless Saoirse will stop at nothing to bleed her dry.
As the fabric of reality fractures, Thorne and Braiden hunt through the splintering realms for the banshee they refuse to lose. But the path is treacherous; memories are shifting, and some of the ghosts haunting them were never theirs to begin with.
Caught between ancient vengeance and a love forged in suffering, the three must decide what they are willing to sacrifice. When survival becomes a gamble, hope may be the deadliest price of all.

Absolutely brilliant read. We jump straight in after book 1 and omg I couldn’t put it down. The need for answers was intense. Fast paced and definitely keeps you guessing with the twists. So well written, executed in every aspect and very effective visuals 😍. Everything you want from a paranormal romance. And the spice was 🥵🥵.
Aoife Rye does it again and kills me emotionally.... ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 star, 10 star for the Duet as a whole!
Kept Hidden is book 2 of the whispering veil duet by Aoife Rye.
I absorbed Keep Silent and have been waiting counting the days for Kept Hidden, and OMG did it not let me down.
"She was a knife with a smile.'
I was gripped from the prologue. Not many books can do that to me but Aoife, damn, she manages to do it EVERYTIME.
I loved the multi POV, and the instant burn the world vibes!!!! 👀🥵🥵 I could tell from the start this was gonna be great!! - its gonna hurt ALOT...BUT in a good way...
Thorne is my favourite i dunno why, I can't pin point like legit reasons I just felt a draw to Thorne and offty.
Aoife hits everything on the head right with this book, the design is amazing, externally & internally, it picks right up from where book 1 left of, its fast paced & packs one hell of a motherf***ing punch. I...it...just... ugh Aoife. I loved EVERYTHING about it. E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. I spoke to Aoife when I was about 20% in telling her I had been binge reading...and she concerned me by saying "i hope you dont hate me after".... i had instant fear and replied "who did you kill" 👀🤣🤣🤣... that settled a fear in me for the rest of the read lol.
The twists made my jaw hit the floor, I cried, so so much, so so hard.. Just, ugh 👌 my heart 😭💔 I can't with you right now Aoife... just 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Tysm for having me as one of your team Aoife, I adore you! If you haven't read anything by Aoife you are SERIOUSLY missing out and havent lived 👀🤣❤️
An absolute stunner of a sequel & I don't just mean the chapter art! You pick up the story as you left it in book 1 & the wild ride begins from there.
You've still got all the delicious smexy scenes in this why choose novel, but its not all about the smexy! You have an original plot line that draws you in for a great reader experience.
All 3 of the main character go on diverse & seperate journeys bringing depth & texture to their story line whilst at the same time showing how deep their bonds for each other have become, which is beautiful to see.
I can't not do a review without mentioning the mythical creatures!! Fionn the Hell Hound is back & as loyal as ever, but brings a bit more comic relief & character in the heads tilts etc.. Whilst I think everyone will want a muckie!! Cute, fierce & chedcky souls - love them to pieces.
Overall a fantabulous addition to this duology, highly recommend if you like the gothic, underworld vibes of Phantasma or the
Thank you to Aoife Rye for the free ARC copy of this e-book, I'm leaving this review voluntarily*
Braiden and Thorne are trying their best to find Croía. Saiorse, meanwhile has her hidden where no-one can penetrate, unless they seek the ancient answers…not giving you anymore I can’t possibly spoil it 🤭
What a follow on from Stay Silent, I so anticipated this story leading us to answers, it did that and more. We get to meet some lost ancient creatures, re-meet Fionn, find out truths that were lost, learn of rituals, bloodlines all connected to the veil. There is imprisonment, m^*rder, spicy times, rekindled love, reborn history all coming together to make this a great duet. BUT Aoife that ending 🤯
This series is one of my favourites yet. Aoife’s writing is laced with something because I couldn’t put these books down.
This books carries on nicely from book 1 and didn’t leave me confused or feeling like any parts are missing.
The FMC is amazing and her sassy attitude just made me fall in love with her- personal favourite quote ‘your royal redness’ 😂😂
I love the two MMCs and was pleasantly surprised by their relationship in the first parts of the book! 😏 The ending broke my heart in pieces and I wish I could read these books all over again for the first time. Amazing duet and amazing second installment.
Aoife... Aoife....Aoife.... . 1- I need a muckie or two immediately. 2- I need Fionn artwork. 3- I can't believe you did this to us. . I adore Aoifes writing style. The gothic, moody, whimsy and gritty style being all wrapped together perfectly makes for such easy & smooth reading. Dark elements that just - hit.
Thank you so much Aoife for letting me read this advanced reader copy!
It follows straight from where book one left off, with new challenges.
I absolutely despise a certain someone!!!
The multi POV gives you all off the angles, I had so many emotions during this book, I had strong words throughout, and I still do not know how to feel about the ending! I have so many feelings
