She had her future planned. Until Ireland called her home to a past she never knew.

Nat Callaghan is weeks away from high school graduation and soon bound for McGill University and a future in medicine. Everything is going according to plan—until her mother abruptly pulls her out of school and sends her across the ocean to visit a great-grandmother she’s never met.

Stranded in a quiet Irish village and desperate to return to her real life, Nat feels frustrated and out of place. But something about the old country refuses to let her go.

Whispers of a family legend, strange dreams, and eerie happenings begin to pull her deeper into a mystery that spans generations. And when she meets charming Ryan, Nat is drawn even further into a world she never imagined.

As buried truths rise and ancient powers awaken, Nat must confront who she is, where she comes from, and what she’s meant to become.

Some legacies are chosen. Others choose you.

As part one of a trilogy, this enjoyable fantasy traces the experiences of a high girl whose mother sends her to Ireland for her 17th birthday to meet her relatives, including a great-grandmother she has never met. Characters are lovingly described and Nat's discovery of mystical family history as well as her growing self understanding are an engaging read. Well done!
