Книга «От берега Жизни» — сборник стихотворений непальского поэта Суман Похрел, представленный в русском переводе. В книгу вошло 41 стихотворение, переведённое с непальского языка 11 российскими переводчиками, что отражает разные подходы к передаче поэтического голоса автора на русский язык. Сборник опубликован в январе 2026 года в Москве издательством «Русский Гулливер» в серии «География перевода».
Стихотворения Суман Похрел затрагивают темы человеческих отношений, повседневной жизни, социальных реалий, войны, пандемии, памяти, природы и внутреннего размышления. Опираясь на личный опыт, автор полнее раскрывает общечеловеческие вопросы и делает акцент на моментах тишины, созерцания, сомнения и чувственной встречи. Используя доступные бытовые образы и повседневные реалии: дома, рынки, города и пейзажи; Похрел подводит читателя к философскому и экзистенциальному осмыслению жизни.

Ot Berega Zhizn is a collection of poems by the Nepali poet Suman Pokhrel, presented in Russian translation. The volume includes 41 poems translated from Nepali by 11 Russian translators, reflecting different approaches to conveying the author’s poetic voice in Russian. The collection was published in January 2026 in Moscow by the publishing house Russian Gulliver as part of the Geography of Translation series.
The poems of Suman Pokhrel in this collection address themes of human relationships, everyday life, social realities, war, the pandemic, memory, nature, and inner reflection. Drawing on personal experience, the poet brings forth universal human questions with depth and sensitivity, emphasizing moments of silence, contemplation, doubt, and sensual encounter. Through accessible domestic imagery and ordinary realities: homes, markets, cities, and landscapes; Pokhrel's poems lead the reader toward a philosophical and existential understanding of life.

Suman Pokhrel is a Nepali poet, lyricist, playwright, translator and artist. His poems have been translated into various languages and are appeared in notable journals worldwide. His theatrical and lyrical works have been performed in USA and in some countries of Asia and Europe.
Suman Pokhrel's poetry has been incorporated into the language and literature curricula at two universities in Nepal and four academic institutions in India. His original Nepali poem Taj Mahal ra Mero Prem (“The Taj Mahal and My Love”) is included in the undergraduate syllabus at Purbanchal University, Nepal. The English translation of his poem Standing in the Market is part of the B.Ed. program at Tribhuvan University. His poem You are as You are (English version) is taught in the M.A. English programs at Kerala University, G.D. Goenka University, and Mar Ivanios College (Autonomous) in India. Additionally, the English translation of Taj Mahal ra Mero Prem, titled The Taj Mahal and My Love, is included in the B.A. curriculum at Cauvery College for Women (Autonomous), India.
Suman Pokhrel has translated and published works of more than one hundred writers and poets from around the world into Nepali, English, Hindi and Urdu languages. He has eight books in his credit including three books of translation.
Suman Pokhrel has received numerous national and international awards and honors. Among his international accolades, he was honored in 2023 with the Asia's Inspiring Poet Award by Asia Award and the Shaluk International Literature Award from Shaluk Literary Magazine in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was also recognized as the Author of the Month by Spillwords Press in New York, USA, for June 2023 and again for May 2025. Previously, his contributions were acknowledged with the SAARC Literary Award in 2013 and again in 2015, making him the only individual to receive this prestigious honor twice. ...............
