I wanted more of Jack and Asia in this book and I got it. Too bad it was weird hate/control/punishing sex. I do love how obsessed these two are with each other but they never over came all that rage. They just got over it?? Maybe. I don’t even know. I’m still waiting to see them grow as a couple. However I’m sure they will be together for ever. They are so stubborn.

I’m not sure how I feel about that ending either. And the extra characters Dante (gang member??) and Miranda (doctor) are a couple or not???? I’m so confused by some of the people in this story. Anyways, it was entertaining.

Too much spicy

There is a spicy scene in almost every interact. Then the spice scenes were repetitive and just not good. It killed the whole story.

I’m so disappointed that this book flopped. I really liked book 1, book 2 was ok, but this one was just bad. I read book 1 & 2 at the end of 2025 and book three had a release date of Jan 2027. Even though I thought that was far away. I thought the time would allow for the author to create and continue a really good story. I was a little shocked to see book three out on KU.

The author should have stuck to the 2027 release date and fleshed the story out more. The story already gave “inspired by The Walking Dead” vibes and this book was no different. Book 1 is the equivalent of seasons 1-3: Leaving Atlanta to live on a farm. Book 2 is Season 3-4: the sheriff and his community is the equivalent of the Governor and his establishment (I don’t remember what it was called). This book is season 6- 7 with a whole lot of unnecessary spice: Christopher is basically a mix of the governor and Negan. The inspiration didn’t bother me in book 1 but at this point I feel like the author should have separated more from the show.

Speaking on this book specifically, it’s just bad. The MCs are jumping each other every other page from the time they meet pretty much till the end. This was over kill. They had more sex than complete conversations. The dialog between the MCs and with the supporting characters was so confusing. It seemed like they were always speaking in innuendos or have inside conversations that even us as the readers weren’t supposed to know. It was aggravating. You have to use a lot of context clues to figure out what they were talking about and then figure out what that had to do with the story.

Then the author was trying to establish this sexual tension between the MCs but this was a flop since they were humping every other page. I didn’t understand why Asia would be mad and avoid Jack just to toot her boot every time he walked into her space. Jack didn’t have to barely do anything to get her to drop her drawls and then she would storm off right after. Why? The first three times they jump each were back to back which was so unnecessary. She jumped him in the room, stormed off to the bathroom, he follows her and humped her in the tub, she storm off to the room, then he humped her in the bed again. This was all within the first 10% of the book.

They killed a zombie here and there, then had this weird setup with Christoper, walked a fence everyday, and fuxked. That’s the gist of this book. It was boring. I gave up at the 65% mark and skimmed to the end.

Oh and another thing that bothered me was the timing of the story. It’s never really stated but it doesn’t make sense. How long had Jack been gone? He supposedly walked from Tennessee to Nebraska and back again so I assumed that took months as it took months for them to walk from Atl to Tennessee one way. But when Jack gets back to the farm Asia is barely pregnant by him. She isn’t really showing yet so she is between 1-3 months, I guess? Lourdes who is a nurse as well as everyone else can’t tell she is preggo but Jack knows instantly on first contact. Also Jack was gone for three-ish months? And in that time they all became subservient to Christopher? That just seemed like a quick decline without Jack. But I digress.

I am going to stop at book three with this series. Idk what would be the purpose of another book.

Full disclosure I binge read the whole series over a weekend. Why? The first book had me hooked.

That said, at the end of this...I felt let down. Listen I love a good spice scene as much as the next smut slut but of all the books, this one had the most spicy scenes but it was gratuitous & repetitive to the point of boredom. It seemed like we traded plot and character development for sex scenes and that was disappointing. The plot seemed rushed with too many loose/weak threads. I found myself frequently rereading precious chapters trying to find the rhythm of this plot. They made it to the farm, they figured out how to survive with no help from the outside world, there's no help coming, the old world is dead and they have to fight each other and zombies. Miraculously they keep finding good hauls despite them being in direct competition with the town that was right down the street with more people. Introducing a character from the Albanian mob? A hail Mary for Evan and the baby. The Christopher takeover and extortion storyline? A little disappointing- I expected more fear behind it because honestly there was no reason for him not to just completely takeover the farm. Now Sheriff Hayes was built up to be frightening- his power plays, his control of the town; he felt formidable and a force to reckon with. But Chris? Why is anyone following him? Jack had some growth, I guess, by learning to be softer. His journey home and back to the farm seemed a waste for the plot. Asia's character development was a pain to read and not in the good way. She seemed petty, petulant and backwards. I can buy that she's hurt especially the *way* Jackson left, that she's overwhelmed, that she's still afraid. The first two books set her up to be an intelligent, rational, empathetic leader- and the last book did not really do her justice as someone who survived so much, made hard calls and stood toe to toe with Jack. Overall, not my favorite of the trio.

You want a zombie series full of sex? Here you go. All sex. All the time. Zombies? Sometimes. No one ever gets bit in real time. They never see anyone turn zombie. It might as well be an end of the World Series sans zombies. Anyways, I read the entire series in three days. Regrets, I have a few.

to much filler but HEA

This was suuccch a drag to read. Asia really was annoying me with this fake gotta be strong and not show emotions I really didn’t understand why she could tell Jack what she felt and how he hurt her. The back and forth I love you and hate you was ruining the storyline. They could communicate but they sure can take clothes off and get it going. It threw me off. Also Christopher being the next big boss and Asia just “keeping the peace “ but being ok with extortion in a way but can’t find the words to tell jack her feelings. All it took was one meeting and boom it’s over? The build up for a war which would have been a nice addition to the storyline since that’s what the whole point of “community “ being drilled in our heads. Just for him not have the man power and be easily offed. Make me feel like well what was the point in her being scared for. But HEA at the end. It’s was an ok read I wouldn’t continue the series

hard to read (contains spoilers)

The book was interesting but it was very hard to get over Asia’s selfishness towards Jack. He saved her life multiple times, took charge of her friends, prioritized her well being over his brother’s and it still wasn’t enough for her. Before he left, instead of being empathetic she was passive aggressive and when he returned she was emotionally manipulative. Not only was she rude and played victim, she didn’t even have the decency to ask more questions about his brother, a minor that was basically left alone.

3 1/2 ⭐️

Well……

I really liked this series until the plot started to wrap up. 🥴. I felt like there was a bit of a plot hole with the antagonist getting closer to the end, and it was just cut off. I do enjoy seeing things from each main character’s point of view, but it seemed like the focus shifted more towards the ‘angry smut’ than the actual story. I am little disappointed with this final installment.

One of my Favorite Reads This Year

Asia and Jack are one of the most complex and magnetic characters i have seen in a while. Jackson is drawn to Asia the moment he saw her in the court house before the world went crazy. Stuck in a elevator and later for survival their CHEMISTRY is CRAZY!!! The way Jack handles her in life and in bed are simply SEXY and SCARY...JACK IS SCARY...but ohhhh it's addiction for both of them. Zombies don't matter with a love that would burn a world.

Locked in from start to finish.

First read from this author, the pen name caught my attention. This post apocalyptic morally grey spicy series delivered all of my favorites: forced proximity, a secret baby that hits emotionally not gimmicky, and a found family that builds naturally sprinkled with actual found family.

good

The ending was good! I just don’t u understand why she was so freaking mad the whole book! It was so annoying. I also maybe do not understand that no one carried what happened with Christopher. He was a bad guy but it was just too easy! I would have loved to hear more about Evan.

Really?

This story's plot was threadbare, with lots of missing holes. Rinse and repeat actions throughout the book which were unnecessary and hinted at a lack of ideas to complete a full story. Evidence of emotional immaturity ran amok in this unfortunate tale. Extremely disappointing.

Gave 3.5 ~~ Actually very disappointed in Asia she couldn't stand on business for two seconds‼️‼️Like you could have pushed a little sis Jack may have been fine but he was not that fine🤣🤣 This book felt rushed read all 3 in less than 24 hours and just thought I would get more. Definitely gave The Walking Dead vibes but just wish it had a little more if that makes sense🙃

3.5 stars. I struggled a bit with this book until about the last quarter. There was too much back and forth with Asia; it just felt like it took up too much time. The end though, with the birth and Uncle Levi? I was completely choked up, and I loved the last sentence! Overall a good series.

Please, please, please

The anticipation was well worth it! I'm glad Jack and Asia finally was able to verbalize their rollercoaster of emotions to each other....it was worth it. And how everything turned out in town....woah! But ma'am......the ending?😭

A Long Journey

This journey was long. It had every element, tragedy, survival, heartbreak, zombies, death, hope, joy, but most of all love. Jack and Asia got their HEA and their baby Levi.

Is This The End???

I loved this series but this book had ( for my taste) more sex for an apocalyptic story. But I'm still wondering if this is the last book
