Six More Weeks

Rate this book
Six More Weeks is a cozy, spicy omegaverse duet for fans of unique monster romance novellas. This is a cozy, gentle spice romance with a human omega and a gentle giant groundhog shifter. It features fated mates, winter isolation, and possessive instincts. Perfect for readers who love cozy paranormal romance, omegaverse dynamics, and unusual shifters with soft edges that become feral when they get you alone underneath them.

Tucked away in a snowbound town, Tess is just trying to survive the cold. She doesn't mean to stumble across the cave owned by a quiet, watchful man who protects her as much as he protects the forest around him. Winter was only supposed to last a little longer. She was just going on a quick hike before her heat. She wasn't expecting to get stuck at the top of the mountain.

But the man who brings her into his home and provides her with warmth is patient and kind. He's protective and considerate, and he's been waiting for her far longer than she realizes.

He's a groundhog shifter, bound by ancient cycles to watch over his forest and venture out into the world on the cusp of spring to search for a mate if the weather allows. Fated timing brings him an omega whose scent he can't ignore. She needs shelter from the cold for one night, and absolutely does not want help getting through her heat cycle.

What was meant to be one night in the burrow to wait out the storm before returning home turns into a week. But her heat isn't stopping. And there's this ancient folklore that says when a groundhog shifter finds his mate, her heat lasts for six weeks.

Green flag ground hog 💐

I read a lot of shifter romance — wolves, bears, dragons, the whole zoo lol... so stumbling across a groundhog shifter romance felt like a little treat from the universe. And honestly? It delivered exactly the kind of quirky charm I was hoping for.

Our hero is an eight‑foot‑tall groundhog, which sounds chaotic but somehow ends up being adorable. He’s a full‑on green‑flag cinnamon roll, and the fated mates angle gives the story a soft, comforting vibe. It’s a short, cute read with a sprinkle of spice that never overwhelms the plot, which I appreciated.

Now, I do have to mention the technical side:
There are multiple spacing errors, starting right on page one and continuing throughout. It didn’t ruin the book for me personally ... I still enjoyed the story .... but I can absolutely see other readers being pulled out of the moment or even put off entirely. It’s noticeable enough that it feels like something slipped through the editing process.

Outside of that, though, this is a fun, different little romance that stands out in a genre full of the same familiar shifter beats. If you’re in the mood for something quirky, sweet, and refreshingly off‑the‑wall, this one is worth picking up.

This book was another 5 star read from Morana! It's cozy and spicy and everything good with omegaverse romance! There's a caring gentle alpha who knows exactly what Tess needs. And Tess who isn't quite sure she wants an alpha for her heat at all. There's spice, consent, hand necklaces, and a groundhog shifter who's the guardian of the forest! What more can you ask for? Seriously, this was a very creative read and so extremely comforting! 5 stars!

Read as an ARC copy

This is a shifter-romance with spice. Make sure you know what that means before reading.

This is my first groundhog shifter romance and I am 1000% in love *swoon* It’s also a gentle shifter romance. What I mean is the Alpha, Roan, is not aggressive with his love. He takes a lot of time to care for Tess, the human omega, before rutting into her. He also makes her needs and comfort the center of his world.

Tess is a human omega who has given up on finding love and has chosen to take her heat alone because she’s over the Alphaholes she’s experienced. She’s also looking for something more.

This is a HEA story that also delves into the lore of the groundhog, which we now take as fact.

Rainy weather brought these two together. Tess was out for a hike to you know, shake off some energy before her heat. Then the rains came and she had to seek safety in a cave.

Turns out the cave is like the entrance or somehow connected to Roan’s burrow. Of course the story starts here. You’ll need to read it to see how they meet and what happens.

It’s cute, there’s consent, and great lore. It’s a novella so it’s a quick read and the pacing was perfect. I finished in one sitting because I wanted to see what would happen with these two.

You’ll love it so go read

you find love when you least expect it.

4.5⭐️

This was a super cute shifter novella. The suit hot did an amazing job of demonstrating that not all alphas are your typical crass and dominating males. The MMC does show dominance but still respects the autonomy of the FMC. Before he even knows who she is he tends to her needs and makes sure she is comfortable. Throughout everything he always puts her needs and comfort first. She didn’t know what she needed until she found him.

All thoughts and opinions are my own💜💜

short, but also just enough.

That was cute, fated mates, instalove, open communication and no misunderstandings. Just what I like in a story. I do have some questions but overall I liked how the story flowed and how it was written. Roan and Tess were made for each other and I'm happy they got their HEA.
First time reading this author and a story like this. Will check out the next one to see if the feelings continue.

For me this is a 3.5⭐️’s

It delivered on whimsical, and cozy! Now anytime there is six more weeks of winter I’ll think a groundhog shifter found his mate because of this book. Plenty of open door spicy scenes. This was a real quick read only 75 pages.

I’m convinced everything Morana’s written is an original thought. It’s never something you’ve seen before, and this one certainly follows that.

But also, why AREN’T we writing more obscure holiday romances?? Give me more of these.
