An Overview
The Mirror Legacy or also know as Xuanjian Immortal Clan is a novel focusing on Immortal Cultivators but unlike many similar novels it doesn't devolve into wishfufilment, nor pointless power fantasy.
This novel in fact is the opposite of that, yes there are elements of progression, but the world of this novel does not allow for any unrealistic rise to power, for that very element this novel, doesn't follow one protagonist, but an entire family, and currently at my current stop at volume six, we're at the seventh generation of this family, the Li's.
The accumulation of power in this series is so difficult that the series is downright a tragedy, if things are going too well, than everything is wrong, because so often the powers of those above everyone else are so conceptual it makes the mortals and lower ranked and connected cultivator seem like chess pieces.
This is the point of the story, The rise of Li Clan from not even pieces in that game to something more.
Before I get into volume by Volume reviews here are some of my favourite passages.

If any Mahas dare to seize the body of my kin, I, Li Tongya, will personally strangle the reincarnated child and never allow you to use my family as you please!

His expression remained unchanged as he muttered, "The world attributes Li Family's swift rise to rogue cultivator Li Mutian's attainment of the Foundation Establishment Realm, Li Chejing's status as the Sword Immortal, and Li Tongya's steady leadership. All of these three are indispensable."
Yu Mugao went through the roster on the table, finding no solace in the available options as he continued, "But in my opinion, the Li Family's greatest strength lies not in their swordsmanship, nor Li Tongya or Li Chejing... but in the fact that for three generations, they have not produced a single useless fool!
