When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn't take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch. It wasn't until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven't turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

​I currently reside in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

I always look forward to Quinn’s summer books because they’re guaranteed to be a little chaotic, completely over the top, and ridiculously hilarious in the best way. They’re the kind of stories that just feel like summer, and this one absolutely delivered.

I genuinely couldn’t stop listening because I needed to know what was going to happen next. The pacing kept me hooked, and every time I thought things couldn’t get more unhinged, they somehow did.

We’ve got a guy who is willing to do whatever it takes to get the girl to fall for him, and a girl who is so standoffish that it honestly makes their dynamic even better. The push and pull between them was so entertaining, and somehow they end up feeling like a perfect match.

If you’re looking for a light, laugh-out-loud romance to throw on your summer TBR, this one is definitely worth picking up.

This is probably my favorite MQ book, It completely immersed me and i had a great time reading. I listened to the alc while reading the arc copy and y’all the audio is so good. Stella hunter and Shane East did an incredible job voicing the different characters and bringing to life this fun story. This book was fun in mostly a non cringy way (i don’t mind the cringe sometimes lol) and the plot was good. The fmc is trying to get the funding to open her candy store and with the help of her aunt signs up to match with a guy on a website she thinks is for people looking for financiers. The mmc is a British lord who matches with the fmc on an app for fiancés so that his overbearing dad will stop asking him for a wife. He gets on a plane to Massachusetts and realizes that both mmc are looking for two different things.

I loved how both characters met it was definitely unique. I also like how the forced proximity came about after the fmc get denying the mmc’s proposal leading to them actually getting to know each other and spending time together. I thought the romance was a slow burn that paid off so well. I was rooting for them to be together and loved seeing them develop a friendship and them romantic relationship. This book had spicy scenes in many different places lol👀. I appreciated that even with the humor real topics were also explored which led to emotional moments and character development. Overall a great read thanks to MQ and the team for this arc for an honest review.

Chapter 13 had me almost crashing my car bc I was laughing so hard!!!!!!

So dam funny!!!
The spice!!!! The audio with his accent had me 🫠 it was so hotttt!

I loveddddd their game of truth of dare & enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve! I loved how Theo stood up for Renley and had her back!

The mouse scene!!!! Rupert was me when a chipmunk got into my house😂😂😂

Honestly I could have read a book with just Theo & Rupert bc their friendship banter/convos had me cracking the f up!!!!!

My only thing was the ending, it just felt abrupt. But still had the best time reading this one.

This book was so good! It had me laughing out loud crying while also being so sweet and swoony! Hands down the funniest MQ book that I’ve read! The audio was phenomenal 10/10 the narrators were fantastic. Shane East was perfect for Theo! The banter between Theo and Renley was top tier😭And the slow burn was delicious😮‍💨🥵

Renley is independent but a little chaotic and is trying to buy and save the local candy shop. She goes on an app trying to find a financier to help her. In comes Theo who is looking for a fiancée for an arranged marriage to save his title for the British lord. The mixup and miscommunication brings them together and it will have you absolutely rooting for them!

You get the best side characters in this one with Aunt Kitty and Rupert who will have you laughing until you’re in tears! This is the perfect book to kick off summer! Definitely add this to your tbr immediately!

I cannot express how much I screamed when I was contacted by the Meghan Quinn team letting me know that I was going to be receiving this eARC! After reading this, I am now chomping at the bit to hear the audiobook! I need to hear this dialogue between Theo and Rupert and their accents so bad! Like yesterday.

Theo and Rupert are big on the game of Truth or Dare and welp…this dare just may have gone a little too far. What was supposed to be all fun and games turned into Theo signing up on fiancé.com and since Theo is next in line for the lordship title, he got quite a few hits! Unfortunately for Theo, his dad (AKA Lord Dickwad) finds out and threatens Theo to follow through or he’s going to make Theo marry the armpit-smelling daughter of his friend. 🙊😂 Theo says NOPE and instantly finds the match he wants to make it work with. Insert Renley…

Renley has just been awarded the town’s historic candy shop and it’s up to her to bring it back to all its glory. How does she end up being matched on fiancé.com? Well folks, she has a crazy aunt who told her she had the money for Renley to start renovating the shop but she doesn’t and so the aunt’s brilliant idea is to get a fincancier. One drunken night goes by and here comes Theo, proposing to Renley right there in her front yard!

I LOVED the way Theo LITERALLY could not be deterred by Renley’s shut downs. How many boxes does this book check? ✅ ummm ALL OF THEM! Theo begs for just more time with Renley because he knows in his sweet little British heart that he is for sure going to win her over by the end of the summer which is his deadline. What Theo does NOT expect is to literally start falling for her and falling HARD. Renley has a hard time trusting people in general because the most important people in her life, her dad and her aunt, constantly let her down. So this girl is determined to NOT let anyone in ever again. Mmhmm. Yeah. Right.

You will enjoy the banter (pfft…duh Meghan Quinn is the banter queen) and you will enjoy the spice. And once Renley starts realizing how magnetic Theo is, oh boy, do you feel the heat! 🔥🚒❤️‍🔥🧯

Shane East, Stella Hunter, Gary Furlong and Cassandra Medcalf absolutely brought the humor and emotion in this one through these characters!! I loved this narration! If you have the choice DO NOT skip on this audio!

This book had me laughing from the start & it never let up! This might be the funniest book I’ve read by MQ to date & gosh, was it a fun ride!! The banter between Renley & Theo was top notch!

Renley is a strong, sweet, a little chaotic FMC who was trying to save & redo the town candy shop. She is looking for a financier to get it done. Insert Theo, a hilarious MMC who is looking for a fiancée for an arranged marriage to save his title as a British lord. This man had the quick & witty comebacks and banter that had me busting out laughing. The mixup/miscommunication that brings them both together will have you absolutely laughing and rooting for these two!

This book while funny, is also a swoony, sweet, and heartfelt read that will have you loving every second. Theo is supportive & absolutely fighting to win Renley over. I loved both of these characters so much. & Let me tell you, it has some of the best side characters that I was obsessed with too!! Rupert might be a new fave side character for me 🤭😅

If you’re looking for a fun, wholesome, down right hilarious summer read that will have you swooning & sweating (after some delicious slow burn), you are not going to want to miss this one!! Definitely a new top read by Meghan for me!!

I had such a great time with this one. Huge thank you to Meghan and her team for letting me listen to the audiobook early because wow… it was so well done.

This book is pure summer chaos in the best way. The banter? Top tier. I literally had to rewind multiple scenes just to relisten because it was that funny. If you’re someone who loves humor that actually lands, this delivers.

Renley is such a solid FMC. She’s strong, determined, and really trying to prove herself, which made it so easy to root for her. And Theo… listen, I was not sold at first. He came off like a pompous, out of touch rich boy, but his growth? So good. By the end, I was fully invested.

And the side characters absolutely made this book. Rupert and Theo together are a complete hot mess express and I mean that as the highest compliment. Their dynamic was perfection. And Aunt Kitty? A whole vibe. And her interactions with Rupert… yeah, you’ll see 👀

The story itself is lighthearted, chaotic, and full of heart. Between the candy shop renovation, small town gossip, and forced proximity, it just works. It’s fun, it’s feel-good, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously while still giving you characters you care about.

If you’re looking for something that will make you laugh out loud, keep you entertained, and just put you in a good mood, this is absolutely it.

Read this if you want hilarious banter, chaotic but lovable characters, forced proximity summer vibes, and a lighthearted, feel-good romance.

When I was offered the ALC to Rules For The Summer I jumped at the chance to listen to it knowing it would be another hilarious rom-com from the talented and witty Meghan Quinn. Meghan’s book always put me in the best moods with the hilarious banter and actions of the characters. I mean come on, an aunt who wants to be a hobby horse influencer? No one but Meghan can come up with something like that. Something that really made this book so good was the side characters of Kitty and Rupert. They were so hilarious and the voices in the audiobooks made them even better. I had tears in m eyes during the mouse scene listening to Rupert screaming. As for the main characters I of course loved them because how could I not? Renley just wants to prove herself and stand on her own two feet. She’s such a hard working determined person and I loved to read about her working towards her dreams. Theo’s character starting off with the hilarious game of truth or dare really showed how funny and unserious his character was so it was nice to read about him finding a purpose and wanting more for his life. Renley and Theo met in the weirdest and most hilarious ways and I loved every second of their journey together. This was another 5/5 star book from Meghan Quinn and I recommend it to anyone who likes opposites attract, forced proximity, neighbours to lovers romances.

This was a very fun listen!

I’m glad I got both ARC and ALC cause I’m not sure I would make the deadline if I only got the ARC, this baby is loooong.

The laughs were there, the flirting was super cute, overall it’s a very good summer read. Mostly easy and funny with some unhinged moments (the aunt character and Rupert!)

The mouse scene had me cackling, it was truly amazing on audio!

The spice was also there, mostly in the second half, some scenes were quite intense (it might be the audio that elevated the experience) and long (no complaints, just stating the fact!)

Longer review to come on release day -> ok so its release day and I was planning to write something longer but tbh what else do you need other than: it’s super fun and spicy summer read! Read if you like romcoms. Most LOL moments provided by aunt that is into hobby horses and Theo’s friend - Rupert.

She was looking for a financier, he was looking for a fiancée. Misunderstanding resulting in almost 600 pages of laughs, flirty banter and spicy spice.

Audiobook is pure fire but I guess it’s nothing new when it comes to Meghan Quinn’s audiobooks.

I think some scenes were really elevated with the audio performance, for example the mouse scene (I was CACKLING) or the spice (I double checked if my headphones are connected)

The romance was cute, the banter was bantering also in a cute and flirty way. I loved how Theo’s persistence showed in “I’m going to wear her down” way but it wasn’t red flaggy but cute and swoony.

I laughed literally so much!!! I will always read a Meghan Quinn book! So grateful I received an e-arc and alc!!! ✨

4.5 stars! In typical MQ fashion, this was so hilariously quirky and fun to read and listen to! I literally live to see what weird and crazy lines are in her books that will have me laughing out loud!

When Theo shows up in the states thinking he’s getting a fiancé to appease his father and keep his title as a British lord, Renley is utterly shocked as she was looking for someone to help finance restoring and reopening the candy store in her town. Despite this mix up on the website where they matched, Theo is determined to stick around and change Renley’s mind. Let’s just say I was already loving them from the first interaction and their banter is so good!

The audiobook for this was so fun to listen to! Performed in duet by Shane East and Stella Hunter, also featuring Gary Furlong and Melissa Metcalf - they really brought this book to life and I devoured it!

When I say, a PERFECT summer read. Truly. Grab it, toss it in your bag and head to the beach because we have another Meghan Quinn summer romance to giggle and blush over.

And when I say I will never think about truth or dare the same again 😮‍💨- in the best way. It is a constant throughout this book and throughout the development of Renley and Theo’s relationship and it just adds an element of fun and spice like you can’t believe.

The nostalgia and excitement I have over Renley opening up a candy store- I’m actually disappointed I can’t visit in real life because what she’s done is a dream and when I’m on Cape Cod this summer, I’m going to be a little sad that I can’t visit Rudder’s Sweets.

I was so fortunate to receive an ALC from MQ and her team and the way that we get full cast narration is just *chefs kiss*. Theo had me full on BLUSHING-while strolling the aisles of Costco. If the people ONLY KNEW! Phew. Amazing.

Meghan girl, I don’t know how you do it, but this was such a funny and cute read. Rupert had me laughing out loud so many times. I definitely need a friend like him. Theo, on the other hand, was so sweet. He’s an acts of service type of guy, and I loved that for Renley.

I enjoyed Renley’s character, especially her determination to follow her dream and make a name for herself by opening her own candy shop. Theo and Renley’s banter was so flirty and cute, and they definitely had a lot of steamy moments.

I’m going to say it again; Meghan never disappoints me with her sense of humor, banter, and the chemistry between her characters. The found family in this was perfect, especially when everyone came together to surprise Renley.

I had the opportunity to listen to the ALC, and the cast for this book was phenomenal. They did an amazing job keeping my attention, making me laugh, and bringing the characters to life. Highly recommend.

Meghan, Queen of RomCom, strikes again! She never misses when it comes to delivering a LAUGH-OUT-LOUD story packed with top-tier banter, spice, and all the swoon-worthy moments you can handle. What started as game of Truth or Dare (especially when alcohol and spelling are involved) became a chaotically entertaining romance between Theo and Renley where “rules” were meant to be broken!

Another highlight for me were the side characters - specifically Aunt Kitty and Rupert - who provide a level of COMEDIC GOLD that elevates the entire story!

The audiobook is a MUST! The full cast narration is chef’s kiss! And can I say, I’m all for a British accent!

I couldn’t put this book down! 10/10 recommend!

So, I'll be honest. I don't read the blurbs for Meghan Quinn books usually. You see, I know I'm going to read them no matter what, and I'm going to end up laughing and loving them. And this one was no exception. Which means when I started I wasn't exactly sure where it was going, but it grabbed me with its uniqueness right away. While it wasn't one that had me dying laughing from the very first line, like she quite often does, once the banter really got started between our couple Renley and Theo (not to mention the banter from the bromance between Theo and Rupert), I was laughing so hard. So hard that I was coughing and trying to breathe at times. I mean the things that come out of Quinn's mind, I just can't fathom where they come from, but they crack me up so much! A few things, totally out of context, but wrestling leotards, guinea pigs, shoe tassels, getting blown by a whale (not at all what it sounds like to a dirty minded person), so many funny things.

And it seemed like all was going well for a while. Of course with Renley's history of being disappointed by the adults in her life, it was easy to see why she didn't want to let Theo in, even if at times it was frustrating. I couldn't have predicted exactly what was going to take Theo back to England, even though I knew something would do that and cause some issues at the end. But the way they got to know each other, and kept rewriting the "rules" with all their little added notes, it was so much fun. Seeing Theo become a "real boy" by learning how to do manual labor, so sweet and totally made me fall in love with him. I loved Theo and Rupert's bromance, but the little fight they had at the end seemed to come out of nowhere. But in a way, the way it was done was perfect, because it makes sense why he was feeling that way when even we the readers didn't see it!

But oh did that cause the tears to fill my eyes at that point. And then her aunt, wow. That was so frustrating for Renley and I felt for her. Now, I will point out her aunt is only 3 years older than me, and I don't want to think of myself as old in the way it was kind of put forward in this story, I know I know, I'm old now, lol. I was totally there for the cougar and reverse age-gap tiny bit of story for her and Rupert though.

In the end when Theo had to go back to England, I was a little upset with him, but was glad his sister was there to help him see what he was doing and stay strong. I loved the story so much, although maybe there was a bit more sexy times than I needed? Or maybe it was just because I was trying to read on my lunch break at work and students kept coming into my office during those scenes, lol. Or it could be because I was just wanting the actual story to keep going and didn't need it all? I don't know. And in a tiny way, maybe the ending felt wrapped up a little quickly? But I did love how Theo came back to help Renley in that situation that seemed impossible.

Another wonderful story from Meghan Quinn, and even with my little tiny issues, I will mark this as a favorite for the year!

OMG I swear Meghan's writing will forever have me laughing my ass off. I had the pleasure of reading/ listening this hilarious romcom early.

This plot line is so incredibly unique who knew a future boyfriend would fly across the ocean, show up to your door and propose only for you to deny him because you were drunk and don't know how to read lol. There are so many things I fell in love with throughout this book, the hand written notes, the late night pond swims, Theo going to the store early to clean to relieve some of Renley's stress, their truth or dare games, the list goes on.

Even though this book started off with miscommunication, I really appreciated how open Theo and Renley's communication. It was incredibly refreshing. I loved the vulnerability that both of them were able to expose to one another.

Rupert is my spirit animal and Gary Furlong truly brought him to life. Every scene he was in I was cackling. Don't get me started on Aunt Kitty, her hobby horsing career and childlike personality added some extra whimsy.

I am absolutely obsessed with every single one of these characters except Marjorie she can f*ck right off. The full cast narration was chef's kiss and don't even get me started on the British accents.

Rules for the Summer by Meghan Quinn was an absolute blast from start to finish—wild, over the top, and completely addictive in audio form. This is one of those stories where the chaos, the chemistry, and the humor just hit differently when you’re listening, and I swear I was finding excuses to do chores just to keep going.

Narrated in duet by Stella Hunter and Shane East (truly elite pairing), this one shines. Her soft, sweet inflection paired with his accent?? Unmatched. Add in Gary Furlong and Cassandra Medcalf and it becomes such a fun, immersive ensemble experience. The comedic timing, the tension, the banter, it all lands perfectly.

Renley is chaotic, lovable, and determined to rebuild her life (and her candy shop), while Theo blows into town bringing charm, persistence, and just enough mess to shake everything up. The side characters, specifically Rupert and Aunt Kitty, completely steal scenes, and the whole cast brings such a lively, found family energy.

Light, silly, spicy, and laugh out loud funny with so much heart—this one is pure entertainment. If you’re even considering it… do yourself a favor and go audio.

Rules for the Summer by @meghanquinnbooks was SO good. Guys, she leaves me in giggles every time. The back and forth between the MMC and his best friend is hilarious. The build up between the two main characters is amazing and then finally fireworks! I feel like her books are a must for audio because with her full cast narration the books are just perfection to listen to. I look forward to each release of hers because I know it’s going to be a great time.

Honestly, if Meghan Quinn writes it, you can count on chaos, chemistry, and a whole lot of heart and Rules for Summer delivers all of that and more. The slowest of the slow burn!

What starts as two drunken “mistakes” between our main characters quickly spirals into something neither of them expected, a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love that refuses to be ignored.

Rinley is determined to prove herself to her town by restoring the candy shop and showing she’s capable of bringing something meaningful back to life. Theo, on the other hand, is trying to prove to his family that he can finally step up, follow through, and take life seriously. Their paths seem completely misaligned at first, he’s not what she planned, and she’s not what he thought he needed, but that’s exactly what makes their story work so well. Sometimes the life you didn’t plan is the one that fits you best.

And Theo? Absolute green flag. The ultimate hype man, cheerleader, and heart-melter of an MMC. He sees Rinley in a way she struggles to see herself, strong, driven, and worthy of every good thing and he never stops showing her that.

The truth-or-dare element adds such a fun, sexy layer to the story. With every round, the rules shift, the tension builds, and the emotional stakes get higher. It’s playful, a little chaotic, and perfectly captures that signature Meghan Quinn humor. The banter is quick, witty, and laugh-out-loud funny while still leaving room for those softer, more meaningful moments.

This book is the perfect mix of hilarious and heartfelt, with characters you can’t help but root for and a romance that feels both messy and meant-to-be.

Rules for the Summer is another Meghan Quinn book that makes me realize how sad my reading life would be without her fun romances!! I didn’t know I needed a storyline with chaos ensuing from a drunken mix up over a fiancé/financier meet up, but I definitely did. I loved the opposite personalities of Renley and Theo, which created some fun banter and flirting between the two of them.

The story does a great job of mixing the absolutely ridiculous with problems that both of the characters are facing personally and with their family. I loved seeing their summer romance turn into feelings and the chemistry between them was so sweet and spicy. If you love quirky side characters, then you will definitely fall in love with Aunt Kitty and Rupert, because they bring all of the hilarious vibes.

First of all, the way I screamed when I opened up my email to see that I received the ALC, and the ARC. Was the best surprise! Thank you Good Girls PR.

This book is straight up hilarious! It had me laughing out loud, yet was sweet and swoon worthy.

Renley just finds out that she wins the bid for saving the towns candy shop, and she feels she has a lot to prove to make up for her family name. Theo, just found out if he doesn’t find a wife soon, an arranged marriage will be his destiny, for his British Lord title.

Renley thinks she is signing up for someone to help her financially with the candy shop, (as her Aunt Kitty might have told a bit of a fib.) Theo thinks he is signing up for a fiancée. This miscommunication will having you laughing, but also rooting for them as they agree to this.

You get the best side characters with Aunt Kitty, thinking of ways to make money and offering to respond to one of the sugar daddies that show up in her social media inboxes, Then you get Rupert, Theo’s best friend and wanting to be blown by a whale. Both of these characters will make you laugh until you have tears.

Seriously the perfect book to kick off the summer!

This book was chaotically hilarious. If I hadn’t been genuinely scared I wouldn’t be able to get back up, I would have been rolling on the floor laughing more than once.

Meghan Quinn really leaned into the absurd, over-the-top humor here, and for me, it worked. The banter, the situations, the sheer chaos of it all had me cracking up throughout the book.

The MMC and his best friend were the real stars of the show. Their dynamic absolutely stole every scene they were in. The friendship brought so much personality and humor to the story, and honestly, some of my favorite moments came from the two of them together.

Theo is also not your typical MMC, which made him feel refreshing. He doesn’t fit the standard romance hero mold, but somehow that made him even more endearing. He had charm, heart, and enough vulnerability underneath the chaos to make me root for him the whole time.

The romance itself was fun, flirty, and easy to get invested in, but this book’s biggest strength is how entertaining it is from start to finish.

Meghan Quinn is at it again with another HILARIOUS rom-com summer read!! The audiobook made the entire story chef’s kiss 🤌🏼

What would you do if you accidentally signed up for what you thought was a financier match site, only to find out you actually signed up for a fiancé match site? Well, that’s exactly what our FMC, Renley, did.

Renley’s goal was to restore her favorite candy shop, but she needed the cash. Thinking she had signed up to find someone to help her with her finances, she accidentally signed up to find a fiancé instead.

Theo, our MMC, knew exactly what he was signing up for—a fiancé to try and get back at his dad. Now Theo flies across an ocean only to meet Renley, who quickly realizes this is definitely not what she signed up for.

As you can imagine, things start to ramp up from there. Theo was convinced that he could get Renley to fall in love with him, but of course, Renley had some rules to keep that from happening.

I absolutely devoured every second of this book. If you love:
