As my first foray into a Mafia-based book, I feared the level of exotic matter based on my wife's previous explanations of the Mafia romance books she read.
I can honestly say the book had me hooked as I read. I just found myself wanting to read more. The characters are rich, well-built, and truly believable. I found that I was drawn into the world the author created, almost smelling those Italian leather shoes and coffee shops.
There is unfortunately a lot to be desired as this book leaves you begging for more.
hurry up with book 2 damnit.

Firstly the book -
This is a mafia romance book and begins with Selena the mfc who has relocated to Italy for her job as a lawyer! her job - find the biggest mafia bosses in italy that may even be a ghost! on her 1st day there starts with a bang!!
This leads Selena shaken but not deterred.... more bad luck comes her way until she is saved from a handsome man who then becomes like her guardian angel protecting her from the shadows.
getting closer... with feelings building between them... something has to give! some secrets need to be told even if they turn selenas world upside down... and just when she thinks she can't take anymore the book ends on MASSIVE cliff hanger!!! 😱😱😱
This book is the start of the planned series and I cannot wait for book 2!!!
This book is written beautifully, the characters are so relatable and Valarie is just the best! so dizzy but so supportive towards her best friend! .... the pace is perfect!! its just right... it is a fast paced book and definitely one that when u read you will not be able to put down!
Author - Millie what can I say!! wow!!! you took all my criticism from the beta - which i felt so guilty about :( and the advice of everyone else and you have made this book so much better!!!, i feel so honoured that I was able to Beta this and then ark it to see the final story and im so proud of you as a person and even more as a author as your writing growth shows so much from start to finish!!!!

I couldn't put this book down, I read it from cover to cover.
I was a little confused near the beginning when I started reading in a different language but soon realised that is was also in English too, I liked this about the book, it gave it a unique feel to read.
Selena and Dreven are very well written character's and I could read their story longer.
I just have one question for the author. Where is book two!

I loved this book and if you're a beginner looking to dive into dark romance, specifically, mafia, this book is a great start! It's quick, fast paced, writing that doesn't bore you and side characters which are the absolute best ❤️
Loved this, read in 2 sittings and binged it as it's so easy to read.
If I had to critique this book, I'd say there were minor issues with the story planning (MY OPINION!)
The first half of the book focuses more on the FMC and the second half focuses more on the romance. Since the book is only 300ish pages, there were 150 pages to build the relationship, add betrayals and conclude which felt rushed. It starts slow (not the pacing, the story.) and everything happens, you know?
Though that's just my opinion and overall I loved this! Good fun time, I recommend it.
