She was off-limits. A club princess he knew he better not look at twice.
Until the night he saved her life.
Now she’s under his protection, living at the clubhouse while danger stalks closer, and suddenly the attraction they never noticed before burns hot and impossible to resist…
Jessica Gadziala is a USA Today bestselling author who lives in rural New Jersey with her parrots, dogs, and an ever-growing collection of houseplants. A lifelong dreamer, she’s been writing stories since childhood and published her first book in 2015. When not at her desk, she’s usually feeding backyard birds, rewatching crime dramas, period pieces, and 90s supernatural TV shows, or adding to her towering stacks of unread books.
I’ll do my best to share how I feel about this specific book. Let’s see if I can express it right without revealing too much. It’s a combination that’s packed with spice and has a touch of hidden romance and a fast pace
Gracie is the club's princess; she's pretty much off-limits to all the male club members.
This was Gracie's first year officially running her business after dreaming about it for years. She couldn't be more thrilled...... But she wasn't ready to count her chickens just yet. She still had a day job until she felt secure enough to be confident in building her own.
Gracie was throwing a party at the top event venue in the state, which, of course, was owned and operated by the local mob family, the Grassis. For one of her clients, she somehow found herself caught in the middle of a hair-raising gunfight.
Perish’s story, Is really no different from a lot of the members here; they all have their own dark pasts that shape their lives, and that’s where it all began.
Perish's life was shaped by hardship, growing up with a father who was often absent due to his frequent stints in prison and a mother who showed little interest in him. This lack of parental guidance led Perish to a wild upbringing, and although he found himself in juvenile detention a few times, he never imagined he would end up serving a five-year sentence like his dad. After his release, he gradually found his place within the Henchmen MC, forming strong bonds with his biker family that he was determined to protect. However, everything changed when he witnessed Grace in a dangerous situation, forcing him to reevaluate what he was willing to risk for those he cared about.
As I was writing this review, I realized that this is the fifteenth book in the series. While each installment can be read independently, I was surprised to discover how far behind I had fallen in this particular series. I can't quite explain how or why that happened, but I'm eager to catch up and pick up where I left off.
I'm having a very lucky week. I'm reading only books by my favorite authors and only amazing books 🥰
This 15th book in a standalone series is one of my favorite stories by Jessica. Yeah, I said it already many times 😂
Hot outlaw bikers, forbidden romance, and full of action and gripping events. What's not to love, right? 😉 But this book is so much more...
I don't know whose story I was more excited for, Gracie's or Perish's.
Gracie, the club princess (a princess in the MC Club is the daughter of one of the older club members), and Perish is a newer member of the Henchmen MC. (And Perish is definitely a perfect book boyfriend material 🥰🤩)
Gracie is forbidden fruit for all club members. All princesses are. It's a rule that no one is allowed to break.
Gracie knows it. Perish knows it.
But when it comes to love, reason goes out the window, and only feelings matter.
The book is amazing!
The characters are incredibly real, interesting, and absolutely amazing. The chemistry is off the charts.
When incredibly thrilling and dangerous events threaten the couple and those around them, the danger only strengthens their bond.
For anyone who loves action-packed, scorching hot, and dramatically exciting romances, this book is a must-read.
This book is definitely one of my favorites in this series 😍
There’s something about a JG book - the formula of the damsel in distress who ends up saving herself trope, mixed with a giant MMC who can be violent and cinny roll on the inside? Yeah I’ll always read that. I knew what I was getting and I was in the mood for what I got.
Is it harder to keep track of who’s who in this ’verse? Yup. And is her father’s book the one I truly hated of them all and would never recommend? Also yes. But that’s one of countless books so take that as you will.
Perish by Jessica Gadziala hits the right spots. This MC romance delivers intensity without going full dark, making it what I would call MC light. There are dark and difficult moments, but the balance keeps the story accessible while still packing an emotional punch.
This is the story of Perish and Gracie. Gracie is a club princess, and I have been looking forward to her book for quite some time. Her character has always intrigued me, and seeing her finally step into the spotlight felt incredibly satisfying.
Perish has lived a hard life, one shaped by pain and survival. The motorcycle club saved him, and that loyalty defines who he is. He has been drawn to Gracie for a long time, but she is off-limits. He knows the rules and has no intention of crossing that line.
Everything changes when he saves her life. Suddenly, Gracie is living at the clubhouse while danger closes in. Forced proximity brings ignored feelings to the surface, and the attraction they both feel becomes impossible to resist. The “won’t” quickly turns into a “will.”
Jessica Gadziala does an excellent job balancing suspense, emotion, and chemistry. The danger feels real, the romance feels earned, and the connection between Perish and Gracie grows naturally. If you enjoy MC romances with heart, tension, and just enough edge, Perish is one you won’t want to miss.
I'm not a really big fan of the "sneaking around" / "forbidden" tropes. They're just annoying. And that part of this story annoyed me, too. But the way Fallon handled both of them when he found out was perfect. And I love Gracie & Perish individually & together. The way they bond & the connection they forge is, as I said at the beginning, total swoon! 😁
I've been looking forward to Perish's HEA since he was introduced, and Gracie's softness is just so perfect for this mountain of a man. She proves she has strength & a BA side when crap hits the fan, too, to go along with her soft side. And they get pretty steamy... 🌶🔥🌶🔥😉
Perish has always been protective & BA. Both things ramp up as the suspense does & the slight mystery is done in such an entertaining way!
We get lots of cameos & it was great to see how much love everyone has for Gracie. And! LAYNA! 😁😁😁
OK, I seriously could gush about this one for pages more, but, just, read it.
'She was their sweet golden girl. And every one of them would think a guy like me would dull her shine.'
I have been wondering if this pairing would happen. I love Parish he is the epitome of big ol' teddy bear. His love for grass, birds, and squirrels...so cute. And Gracie, tenderhearted people pleaser of the princesses.
This story was fast paced. The spice hit quick the drama hit quicker. I do wish we had more scenes of the mc's getting to know eachothwr while being stuck together instead of just the spicy moments. We were told of some sweet moments, but I think I would've preferred to experience it with them.
Of course with any Henchmen book, I loved seeing past characters. And the new characters were interesting too... Cain, Spike, Layla, and Cian have all peaked my interest.
I am a Navasink Bank Stan, so I will be reading whatever comes out next that involves this world.
Another solid Jessica Gadziala biker romance, with a few things I wanted more of
I always love when a new Jessica Gadziala biker romance drops — it’s like a little surprise gift. This one had a lot of what I enjoy about her books: the forced‑proximity setup, the mutual attraction that develops on both sides, and the chemistry that hits hard once they finally give in. I appreciated that there was no unrequited pining; they wanted each other, and it showed.
That said, the sneaking around didn’t totally work for me. Jessica’s male leads usually move mountains for their women, so Perish hiding his feelings felt a bit out of character. I kept wishing he’d had the guts to tell the club earlier instead of waiting until danger forced the truth out. I also would’ve liked to see them as an actual couple before the end — more moments of them being together, not just hooking up (even though those scenes were definitely hot). Gracie initiating most of their encounters after the first time was interesting, but I wanted Perish to pursue her more too.
I also honestly couldn’t remember either of them from past books — the world has gotten so big and complex that some characters blur together. I liked the cameos from others, but I missed more of the girls’ club aside from Layna.
The emotional logic of “we’ve known each other for ages but only now have feelings” didn’t fully land for me, though I did love that they saved each other in the end. I really wish Cameron had suffered more, and I wanted more closure about why he betrayed Perish. Maybe he’s just a jerk, but still.
And Perish’s obsession with lawn care — I needed an explanation. Childhood deprivation? A need to nurture things? It felt like a thread that never got tied off. Same with his sense of being an outsider in the Henchmen MC. He mentions it, but we never get a moment of resolution or a real bromance with another member.
Also… letting Gracie out to cater while there was an active threat? Even with guards, that felt odd.
On the bright side, I cannot wait for Cian’s book and to dive into the Irish mob side of Navsink Bank. I just hope it’s not as dark as the Italian mafia ones — those are a bit much for me, though maybe I should give them another try. Jessica’s biker books and some of the spinoffs hit that perfect morally‑grey‑but‑soft‑for‑the‑FMC balance that I love.
As always, the epic epilogue delivered. No one does a “years later” glimpse like Jessica Gadziala. And the teaser for Layna’s book has me excited — hopefully that one comes soon. I’m still waiting for the first book about the Southern chapter (the one on the ranch!).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I always love returning to Navesink Bank. This time it's for one of the daughters of the OG and a MMC who showed up several books back. She is super sweet, soft, and loving, and he's had a hard life that has taught him to appreciate all her tears and joy.
Him after he saves her from a drive by,
“Three hugs in one night. I was pretty sure that was more hugs than I’d gotten in my whole damn life.”
As usual, this author's characters are direct and candid. Their main conflict is about her being off limits, but they still move through their feelings pretty quick.
Of course these biker men are super protective of the women even though the women know a lot of self defense.
“I thought they were being paranoid. But protection was their love language, so I kept my mouth shut and just… let them love me.”
I appreciated all the cameos from previous characters.
These two let us see how love could be. The personalities gelled easily. The "not like this" rules needed to be fine tuned. No matter what, their lives had rules. MC life dictated it. Everyone has his or her place but finding balance made things easy. Taking care of each other made it all worth the many families in this story.
Excellent writing. Good character development. One thing I do get with other authors that I miss in many of these books is glimpses into the lives of previous club members and their women.
Perish is the 15th book in the Henchmen MC Next Generation series by Jessica Gadziala. This is Perish and Gracie’s story. I love this book! I started reading and didn’t stop until I finished in the early hours of the morning.
Gracie is OG Duke and Penny’s daughter and one of the club princesses. She is handling an event at the Grassi’s for her new party business when someone driving a black sedan opens fire. Perish is one of the newer Club members who is there meeting with Mateo Grassi. He spoke to Gracie when he first arrived and is leaving when he hears the tires. Without a second thought, Perish races to Gracie and throws himself over her when the bullets start flying.
The chemistry between Gracie and Perish is off the charts. The more time they are around each other, the more they struggle with the Club’s rules regarding her being off limits. They are both taken by surprise by how strong their feelings are and slowly lines start getting crossed.
Gracie has always been a little shy. She’s a people pleaser and always tries to comfort those around her before thinking about herself. Perish didn’t have a good family and has always been alone. Even though he’s a member of the Club now, he still feels as if he’s an outsider. Seeing them become something special was truly heartwarming to watch as they realized just how deep their feelings were and how much they grew to mean to one another.
I cannot wait to see whose book is told next and hope we get Layna’s story about her trip to Vegas. I love these characters and love the world that JG has created.
Not my favorite but i am a huge fan of this author. Still had a few good moments. How this author writes epilogues are some of my favorite things about this author.
Definitely one of my favorites. I prefer when Gadziala gets all of the group together so you get to see past characters again. This one had plenty of action to go along with it too and with minimal skip over the drama or conversations to make it condensed which is far better
This is book fifteen in the next generation series. I enjoy reading about the new generation but I really want a chart because sometimes I don’t remember who are the parents of all the new generation. We start with the lovely Gracie, a princess under the MC umbrella. Her father is Duke, from the OG’s. Gracie has a side hustle of putting together events. She just started and was running a divorce party for her client. Unfortunately, there was an incident but luckily Perish was there, on another project, but able to protect Gracie. This story is their journey. There is a happy ending plus some wonderful epilogues into their future lives. Read On!
OMG! I devoured this book in one sitting! So so good and my favorite in a hot minute.
Perish is a Henchman but not related or one who grew up with this generation. He knows the rules, and the big one is "club princesses are of limits". Gracie grew up with amazing parents, cousins, uncles and aunts. She has learned so much but stays independent. While running her business she finds herself being saved. This moment increases an already big attraction to a very big sexy wall of a man. As the story goes, we feel them wanting to resist but having a hard time. The story was so delicious 🤤 and perfect! I couldn't have asked for anything more. Perish and Gracie really are one of my fav new Gen couples. I can't wait to read a certain someone's story. Love the little teases!
I loved this addition to the Henchmen! I loved how much we got to see of Duke and Penny; and Gracie being a bit softer spoke to me. One of my favorites from the Second Gen for sure.
I loved Perish and Gracie’s story! I have read every book that Jessica Gadziala has written (as far as I know), and I have never been disappointed! She is a fantastic story teller. They always have just enough heartbreak (back story), just enough spice, and lots of perfectly flawed heroes to make you fly though her books to get to the happily ever after. Can’t wait for her next book!
I’ve been waiting on Perish’s book since he was first mentioned as a neighbor/side character (cannot recall which book in the series he’s first introduced) and I’m so glad they paired him up with Gracie. I do wish we got more of Perish’s background in detail and a longer plot of them being happy but it’s not the epilogue
Thr Henchmen and Jessica Gadziala never disappoint and Perish is no exception. Hilarious opening, tension, forbidden relationship, spice, suspense, found family and a HEA. Can't wait for Layna's story as there were a few Easter eggs for her. Loved seeing more Rune and other MC members we haven't in a while.
This is the only author I always leave a review for. Good good read the book start at one and never stop. I think I would read the back of the cereal box if she wrote it.
I love this one. Perish is my new favorite out the next gen. I like how Gracie is all sweet and nice but rallies to a bad ass when needed. I'm so looking forward to Layna's story.
I was just… tired and overworked and, yeah, lonely. I’d been trying to bury that under work, familial obligations, and chores. But it had been a really long time since I’d had someone to share my free time with, to cuddle with at night. I missed it. That was all it was. I was overworked and under-loved. - Gracie
Perish and Gracie just give me that little bit of happiness that just almost made me want to cry! Perish is the BEST GUY! There is SO much angst and yearning here, throughout the whole book, I just found myself craving what Perish & Gracie wanted all the way through the whole book.
Perish is, of course, trying to keep himself far away from any of the Henchmen Princesses - not really understanding that the whole family is ready to give him all the hugs and love they can because he saved their Gracie.
Gracie keeps thinking that she must have done something wrong in order for this random guy to be shooting at her, not understanding at all that said random guy was waiting for Perish to leave a weak spot and then he could try to kill her and make Perish in trouble with the whole family.
I loved that Gracie went to the Cop Shop all on her own and gave a drawing of what the guy looked like, putting herself in even more danger but she's felt all her life like she had to do something to keep herself safe, to keep her family safe - this time she saw him, she knew exactly what he looked like. I just wish she'd have waited until one of her brothers, cousins, protectors had waited to go with her, this was ridiculous - she was putting herself in danger.
And of course, as soon as the guy nabbed her Perish realized exactly who it was. He's not there for Gracie, he's there solely for Perish because Perish didn't finish the job the first time for crying out loud. So Perish has to do the right thing and turn himself in, but WHAT?!?
And then there's a big old wedding followed by the honeymoon, which was basically Perish buying the house and telling Gracie which parts of the house she could and couldn't use (everything but the lawn, the guy's a little weird!)
The epilogue is, I swear, my FAVORITE part because it lays out all the different happy parts of Gracie and Perish's marriage, children, etc. So much happiness, I promise if you've not read a Henchmen book before you are DEFINITELY missing out!! You have to come back in a few weeks for Layla's book, you won't know what hit you!!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review *
Oh I love me a good book with the OG's!. And of course a forbidden romamce element.
Gracie is a sweet heart. She's the lover not the fighter. The gentle gal who cries at adverts and loves to snuggle. The relationship girly. Except she happens to be attracted to one of the mc guys who are most definitely off limits. Man I loved Gracie. She couldn't fake anything to save her. She was honest, sweet and content. She didn't want for crazy things. She wanted her business to succeed and life to be kind.
Perish is all hard, closed off and minding himself. Except he took a fancy to a princess and that is just a big solid hell no in the club. Perish is a little rough around the edges but still sweet. He listened and payed attention. I mean he did try to fight it but that was never going to be successful. I loved him though. A guy who didn't try to justify his past. He knew who he was and the reality of his life. He was grounded, private but still had thay sweet side just for Gracie.
They had a sweet connection and fantastic chemistry. She was the soft to his hard. There was no doubt about the compatability. They just fit and balanced one another. Now obviously given the forbidden nature, not everything was smooth sailing. But I feel like it was navigated well and the journey felt organic to them.
As per Jessie brings a slew of side characters that give so much personality. I especially love getting OG characters more. There's something special about reading and feeling how far they've all come. It's a journey for sure. One filled with tension, lusty shenanigans, sweet moments and a fair amount of chuckles. Oh and of course some suspense and a little hurt just to round it all off.
Another great addition to the series. I'm a sucker for a forbidden romance, especially when its a princess.
What a story in this incredible Henchmen MC universe! I have been waiting for Perish’s book for some time now and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I loved everything about the plot (flowing, intriguing with enough danger and action and secret hot encounters to keep things interesting) but most of all, I loved Perish and Gracie. Gracie was always the glue when it came to the girls of Henchmen MC. Nurturing by nature, the responsible one, the one that always makes sure that everyone around her has what they need. A club princess (Duke’s daughter) who is supposed to be, by all means, off limits. We have seen Perish briefly in the previous books – he was in a middle house after his incarceration back then, after that a prospect and now we see him as a full-patched member of the arms-dealing MC. Built like a tank, solid, with a troubled past and an obsession with… the lawn. He and Gracie used to have superficial interactions in the past as they live in the same orb. But everything changes when Perish throws himself over her during an unexpected shootout to protect her while she is working as an event planner on the Grassis (Mafia) property. Sparks fly, unexpected and strong. And they just grow strong with each encounter. Resistance is futile. Feelings run high. When Perish’s past makes an ugly appearance and Gracie finds herself in the middle of danger, Perish will risk everything. How will the club react when everything comes to light? I couldn’t put the book down! 5 stars!
