Matchmaking in Granville #3

Sweet-Talking Silas

Rate this book
I plan happily-ever-afters, but I don't believe in them...

That doesn't stop the Matchmaking Mamas from trying to find me a dream man. When they corner me at a wedding I'm working, I'm too busy to fight their meddling ways. I agree to one match so they'll back off. One date and I'll put the matchmaking nonsense behind me for good.

Then I meet Brysen. As if he stepped out of a movie, he sweeps me off my feet in a mgical night. He's gorgeous, sweet, romantic--and so very sexy. Despite my reservations, I agree to a second date and start to wonder if maybe I could have more with the right guy.

Then he shows up to a wedding consult the next day.

With his bride.

I'm horrified to be taken in so easily. How could I have doubted, for even a second, that love wasn't for me? I was the guy who got jilted at the altar five years ago. I didn't believe in fairytale endings.

This was a wake-up call. I was fine just as I was, single and fun. Who needed love, anyway?

Only... now I'm getting texts and calls telling me that Brysten has a twin.

An identical twin.

But if Brysen's not the groom, is he really the amazing guy he seemed to be when we met? For better or worse, it seems I'm about to find out. I'm just not sure if I want to know.

If I'm going to risk my heart again, this man has some serious sweet-talking to do.

I'm excited to finally be sharing Sweet-Talking Silas, my final book in the Matchmaking in Granville series! It was fun to revisit Granville and see a lot of familiar faces. I hope those of you who read Games We Play and Rules We Break enjoyed seeing my little quirky town again.

The Matchmaking novels are written more like rom-coms than the other series--partly because I really needed a light, sweet diversion from the grittier vibes of my Foster Bro Code and Redemption Road projects. Also, let's be real, I needed a fluffy escape from the real world too!

I hope they made you smile!

Plus, as a little surprise bonus, I wrote a short story for the infamous Percy Helix! He appears briefly in Meddling with Maverick--as a less than ideal date--but he truly became infamous in Don't Date a DILF (Rules We Break) when he showed up for a date with Clark in a hearse. Our poor misunderstood funeral director finally finds love...and it's been under his oblivious nose the whole time! You can find Pestering Percy linked in the back of Silas as a free download.

Happy reading, everyone!

This is an opposites attract romance, featuring Silas and Bryson, and is book three in the Matchmaking In Granville series.

Silas agrees to a blind date just to get the Matchmaking Mamas off his back, but he’s blindsided when his perfect match, Bryson, turns up the next day with a bride at a wedding meeting. Silas is shocked, until he learns Bryson has an identical twin.

I’ve been waiting for Sila’s book, and it didn’t disappoint. This is a low angst read with plenty of swoon. Silas and Bryson are beautiful together, each helping the other heal and find love again. The found family is strong with this one and we get lots of cameos from this universe. Loved it and the whole series.

There is also a bonus short story that covers Percy’s HEA. YAY!!!!!

Oh I loved this so much. Silas is so jaded against love, what will it take to make him open up his heart again? Bryson is adorable and persistent in his pursuit of Silas because knows they could have some true magic together. Silas just has to realize he can’t let his past prevent him from having a really great future. I loved his book so much. Good thing Bryson sees the man behind the walls. After all, once Simon realizes he has a twin, he has no trouble telling the twins apart.

With a bit of a slow burn, lots of healing and great chemistry, you'll want to read this book in one sitting!

Sweet-Talking Silas by DJ Jamison is the 3rd book in her Matchmaking in Granville series. I suggest you read the others before this one because they contain important characters that appear in this book and also because they are lots of fun. Silas Thorne had a heart-breaking incident happen to him when he lived in Pasadena that caused him to immediately leave and move to Granville, Nebraska, where his Great-Aunt Lula lived. He was a wedding planner and was able find work at Veils and Vows for the owner Carol Ann, where he had earned a great reputation and was sought out to plan weddings in the area. His best friends were Jamie and Maverick but they had recently found their boyfriends and he was happy for them but was guarding his heart after what had happened to him and most dates were just one offs. Lula and her friend Iola had formed Matchmaking Mamas and wanted Silas to use their services and after bothering him at a wedding he finally agreed to one match and then they would leave him alone. When Bryson Larkin shows up at his door it is an instant attraction for both of them. Bryson is new to Granville and he and his brother, Branson, are opening a sporting goods store there to be closer to Branson’s fiancé Caitlyn’s family. Bryson whisks Silas to a beautiful place for a first sweet date that ends up in a hot love scene and he wants to see where a relationship with him would go and Silas likes him but he isn’t sure that he can love again. Then things fall apart when Bryson shows up with his bride to be, Caitlyn, for a meeting about their upcoming wedding and Silas sees red and says he can’t do the planning for the wedding any more and feels like he has been played and betrayed again. Caitlyn is beside herself and doesn’t know what happened but Bryson figures it out when he realizes that Silas thought he was his identical twin brother, Branson. It takes some time, talking, and showing pictures of the two of them together for Silas to see what happened but he also knows he has to guard his heart so he has to leave Bryson alone. But Bryson is so smitten that he isn’t going to stand for that and he tries to spend as much time with him as he can, even though Silas says he won’t date clients and considers him being the best man a client since he has taken the wedding back on. Bryson gets some advice that he needs to be persistent, honest, and sincere so he shows up at different wedding places with Branson and Caitlyn hoping to see Silas. When he goes to Taco Loco for dinner, he sees him and is invited to join his friends and when the left they kissed. Bryson says he’s not giving up on him. He then goes to Branson’s tux fitting and Silas comes there and immediately knows it Bryson because he’s more relaxed and smiles a lot so he knows he’s noticing him. This time they end up back at Bryson’s for a hot love scene and talk with Silas saying he’s not ready for more and Bryson responding that he’s OK with that as long as they can still see each other. There are some problems with the rehearsal dinner hall, Caitlyn’s mother, and her cousin which Silas handles and things come to a head a week before the wedding when Bryson’s ex, Christian shows up to be in the wedding party and makes it clear he wants him back. He tries all he can but Bryson isn’t having it as he only wants Silas who is still unsure. Branson has a talk with Silas and tells him to break it off if he can’t make a commitment and the Matchmaking Mamas also go to him to tell him to make it right. But the real break comes at the wedding with a fun scene where he realizes that being with Bryson is right and he goes to tell him that he’s ready for him, for love, and for everything and they both say I love you. Their one year anniversary is a beautiful scene that shows they are headed to the future together. I really enjoyed this book. Silas knows the wedding business but has been badly hurt. He pushes everyone away and even tries to do that with Bryson but he felt the connection from the first time they met and he wasn’t going to give up. He was a caring person and would do anything for his brother and Caitlyn and wanted to be there and take care of Silas, too. It takes a while but Silas finally realizes Bryson sees who he is and that they belong together. Jamie, Maverick, and their boyfriends as well as the Matchmaking Mamas play a big part in the story and it was fun to see characters from other books by Ms. Jamison make an appearance. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like stories about a wedding planner who helps others with their plans and love but thinks he will never have it again, identical twins where one is getting married and the other only has eyes for the wedding planner, how he keeps trying to break down his barriers with the help of friends and family, and how they finally see they belong together and find love.

This is book three in the author’s Matchmaking in Granville series and the matchmaking Mamas have been at it again! With his two best friends, Maverick and Jamie, all coupled up, Silas, the wedding planner who had no love lost with “Love,” had only doubled down in his decision to play the field until the Mamas caught him in a weak moment and his match was everything he could ever have wanted—maybe he’d been wrong all this time in doubting their abilities! When the unthinkable happened in one of his weddings and he was reminded of his past, Bryson, Silas’s match, had his work cut out for him to win Silas’s heart.

This was a really sweet book; Bryson fell fast (maybe too fast?) and he fell HARD and I kinda felt bad for him that Silas was resisting him so much but Bryson refused to give up or play games in order to make Silas jealous and that, more than anything else he could’ve done, had me squarely on Team Bryson. My only complaint is that the ending was resolved just a little too fast—not that I was wanting needless angst and drama—I just would’ve liked to see them work it out instead of Silas saying, “whup, I do love you after all” despite spending the entire book only wanting to be FWB 🤷‍♀️.

I think my favorite part though (and that’s saying something because I really did enjoy this book), was all of the Easter eggs from previous books and series. I mean, Linc and Darren (from Truth or Darren—Games We Play in Granville) finally got married and Silas was their wedding planner, Kevin, (the drag queen in 7 Minutes in Kevin—also from The Games We Play in Granville—along with his man Garrett—Darren’s dad) was the cosmetologist who did the bride’s makeup, Bailey (with his man, Flynn from Problem Child—Foster Bro Code) hustled some of the groomsmen out of their money at the bachelor party and Wes (from Don’t Bang Your Stepbro—Rules We Break in Granville) all made an appearance with some playing larger roles than others but they all made up these perfect little tidbits that made this so much fun to read! I promise, after you finish reading this, you’re gonna want to start all over, beginning with the series represented here… or maybe that’s just me? Anyway, this is a solid 4.5 star read for me and at least a part of that is all of the cameos.

I received a copy of this book for free but am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received a free copy. This review is submitted voluntarily.

Under pressure, Silas agrees to sign up with the Matchmaking Mamas, a group that includes his aunt. He gets set up with Bryson, who is gorgeous and a considerate date. They have a great night together and are talking about a second date, unusual for Silas who was left at the altar by his fiancé. The next morning, at a meeting with the bride in a wedding he’s planning, imagine his shock when the groom, whom he had not met before, appears to be Bryson. One can imagine how furious he is, especially given his previous experience, and immediately dumps the planning for the wedding. It turns out that, unbeknownst to him, the groom is actually Branson, Bryson’s identical twin brother. They quickly sort that out and Silas returns to planning Branson’s and Caitlin’s wedding. Meanwhile, Bryson decides that he will pursue Silas patiently, being aware that he says that he is not relationship material.

The author has written two MCs who really match their views right to the end. Silas is suitably sarcastic for his background, though he does express some desire for what his friends with their partners. On the other hand, Bryce is a sweetheart who knows he wants Silas and he is willing not to push him too hard. Typically, they are both gorgeous and have the best sex of their lives, a condition that seems to afflict most all main characters in the MM world. (I have to admit that this totally appeals to me). Bryson standing in for Brandon when the latter isn’t up to some of the demands of the wedding is cool. The author also enhances her credibility by having Silas be able to tell the twins apart in fairly quick order. As well, her introduction of Bryson’s ex is well done, and he is given appropriate short shrift by Bryson. In the end, Silas and Bryson make a lovely couple. Their relationship is helped by a number of secondary characters who do everything to encourage them to get together (except of course Christian, Bryson’s ex). The length of the book is completely appropriate, and the plot is quite straightforward.

A wonderful book that is a really nice ending to the stories of the three friends.

Charming, Funny, and Packed with Rom-Com Chaos

Sweet Talking Silas by D.J. Jamison was such a fun, feel-good romance with the perfect balance of humor, heart, awkward chaos, and genuine emotional sweetness. Silas and Bryson completely pulled me in from the very beginning, especially once the whole “wait… why are you here with a BRIDE?” disaster unfolded. Honestly, I would’ve spiraled too. 💀

Silas was incredibly easy to root for. Underneath all his wedding planner professionalism and sarcasm is someone carrying a lot of hurt and skepticism about love after being left at the altar himself. Watching him slowly let himself believe in romance again — while fighting every instinct telling him not to trust it — gave the story a really emotional core underneath all the comedy and matchmaking chaos.

And Bryson? The man was pure golden retriever charm. Sweet, patient, romantic, ridiculously persistent, and somehow still lovable even after that catastrophic misunderstanding. The chemistry between them felt effortless right from the start, and once Bryson started actively trying to win Silas back over, I was completely invested.

The Matchmaking Mamas absolutely stole scenes too. Their meddling energy added so much humor and warmth to the story without ever overwhelming the romance. It gave the whole book that cozy small-town rom-com atmosphere where everyone is emotionally invested in everybody else’s love life whether they asked for it or not.

I also really loved how this book balanced emotional vulnerability with lighter moments. The misunderstandings and chaos never made the relationship feel shallow because underneath it all, Silas and Bryson genuinely connected in a way that felt sincere and emotionally safe.

If you love matchmaking shenanigans, wedding planner romances, mistaken identity chaos, golden retriever MMCs, rom-com energy, and sweet emotional healing wrapped in humor and heart, this one is such a good time.

I know that when I read DJ Jamison's books I'm in for a good time, and that still holds true with this one! When I read Hounding Hank and first got 'introduced' to Silas, I wasn't sure if I was going to love his book just because he did seem a little jaded and a bit...harsh? But then when I started reading this book, his book, I began to understand why he is the way he is and why he doesn't go on dates or believes in love anymore. (I'm not going to spoil anything but my heart hurts for him 3)

He only does hookups no dates.. Until the matchmaking mamas won't leave him alone and he finally agrees to be matched. But only one date! Or so he thought.. When he meets Bryson, the newest resident to his town, he never expected to catch feelings for another man. After all, he was done with those... But how can anyone resist someone who takes them on picnics, buys them lunch, and gets them flowers?

This story was super cute! I really enjoyed how DJ wrote this book. Obviously this was more of a slow-burn due to Silas's past, it wouldn't have been true to his character if he just started dating without some sort of angst over it. So, that being said, I loved the slow-burn aspect, I really enjoyed seeing Bryson respect Silas's boundaries while also continuing to show up for him in little ways. He wasn't letting Silas give up on them before they even had a chance and I loved that.

As always with DJ's books, the side characters are just as important as the MC's are and I have always enjoyed that aspect. Especially with DJ's characters because they all have such bold personalities but each of them are so different from the other and I just love all their characters. Also, the banter and dialogue was fantastic, the pacing of the story was good too, and I adored the ending! It was my favorite part!!

If you want to see persistence and dedication pay off, you should give this a read. I think you might like it!!

This was such a fun, feel-good read and the perfect ending to this series. All three books had this cosy rom-com energy that made them so easy to binge, and I absolutely loved getting back to Granville one more time.

Silas and Bryson were adorable together. Silas comes across a little jaded and harsh at first, but once you understand his past and why he’s so guarded about love, it’s impossible not to root for him. Underneath all the sarcasm and wedding planner perfectionism is someone who’s been hurt deeply and convinced himself he’s better off sticking to hookups and avoiding relationships altogether.

Then Bryson shows up and completely ruins all of Silas’s plans in the best way possible.

Bryson was pure golden retriever energy — sweet, patient, romantic, persistent, and honestly impossible not to love. Their first date was so thoughtful and charming, and I loved how naturally they clicked. Even when Silas tried to keep his walls up, Bryson kept showing up for him in all these little ways without ever pushing too hard. He respected Silas’s boundaries while still making it clear he wasn’t giving up on them before they even had a chance.

The Matchmaking Mamas were chaotic perfection as always and added so much humor and warmth to the story. For once, their matchmaking actually worked right from the start.

I also loved the friendships throughout this series. Jamie, Maverick, and Silas had such great banter, and it was fun revisiting familiar faces around town. The side characters always make these books feel extra cosy and alive.

This story balanced humor, romance, awkward chaos, and emotional healing really well. I laughed, swooned, and had such a good time watching Silas slowly let himself believe in love again.

SWEET-TALKING SILAS - DJ JAMISON

This is the 3rd book from the Matchmaking in Granville series, and while it can be read as a standalone, it’s always nice to enjoy the foundation stories as well.

We have watched Silas create wonderful weddings in each book, and wondered why he believed that happily ever after was not in his future. Past hurt and a broken heart have kept him from developing any relationships and settle for hook up apps, but his aunt is one of the matchmaking grannies and was determined to find him the perfect match.

Enter Bryson, the match the grannies felt was absolutely right for Silas. And after finally agreeing to one date, Silas is delighted to find the match really was a wonderful surprise! Bryson fell for Silas at first sight and was so enamored he took him to his special place for a sunset dinner. Silas invited him back to his place afterwards and Bryson knew this was the start of something wonderful.

Except when Silas met the groom he was beginning to think his client bride Caitlyn made up, it appeared to be Bryson! Of course, it was actually his identical twin Branson, but Silas wasn’t listening to anyone when they tried to set the story right! This begins the humorous and chaotic meetings between Silas and Bryson set up mostly by Caitlyn and Branson so that the guys could work things out, along with Maverick and Hank who added their own bits of sarcasm and humor to the mix!

There is also a surprise visit from the Foster Bros from one of the other series that is fantastic and fits into the storyline perfectly!

Through it all, Bryson stays steadfast in his pursuit of Silas and their relationship develops slow but strong as they find their HEA.

DJ Jamison writes wonderfully realistic characters and every book is worth the read by this author.

Silas may be a great wedding planner, but when it comes to his own life, he isn’t sure if he believes there is a happy ever after for him. Not after the last time he gave his heart away. But the Matchmaking Mamas have their eyes set on him to find his guy. And after much harassing on their part, he gives in and lets them set him up for one date. He just never expected for Bryson to sweep him off his feet. Their chemistry is off the charts and by the end of the date, Silas can’t help but feel that maybe he can have love again. Until he sees Bryson walk into work with a woman on his arm. But not is all as it seems. Turns out, Bryson has an identical twin brother. And even when Bryson gets Silas to listen and prove that it’s true, the damage is already done. Silas is back to guarding his heart. Because even though he was wrong, his reaction showed just how much Bryson has the power to hurt Silas. Bryson knows that Silas and him could have something great. But now he has to prove that to Silas. So he’ll be patient. He’ll take his time and show Silas just how amazing they could be if he gives them a chance. But will it be enough? Loved this story! I was excited to see who would sweep Silas off his feet and Bryson didn’t disappoint! But oof! Poor guy definitely had to work to prove it after that big mix up. And after knowing Silas’s past, I don’t blame Silas for being wary. But I loved that despite his fears, Silas was able to open his heart up enough to let Bryson in. They were truly a great couple! Another great book in this series. And I definitely wouldn’t mind some more!

I was provided with an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review. These are my real sentiments about the story and everything written here is respectful, without meaning to harm anyone, but to offer my opinion as constructive criticism/compliments. Thank you, D.J., for the opportunity!

⭐⭐⭐⭐️.75 / 5 (Rounded up to 5)
🔥🔥/ 5

Couple: Silas and Brysen.

Structure: 1st person. Past tense. Dual POV. Third and last book in a series.

This story is an adorable palate-cleanser after some heavy ones. D.J. Jamison is definitely one of my favorites rom-com authors. We always know what to expect from her stories, and she always delivers wonderfully.

This new trilogy became one of my favorites of hers. Since book one I wanted to read Silas' story. Like he said, "he's a cliché" in all the best ways. The guy who doesn't believe in love after being hurt, meeting the most perfect guy there is. Brysen absolutely ruins every real-life men there ever was haha He's literal perfection, and I'm here for it.

At first, he may come off as naive for how fast he falls. I'd be scared irl, like Silas almost was haha But in fiction, it was just amazing seeing him break down Silas' barriers and make him believe in love again. It's hard to choose a favorite couple from this trilogy, but they are definitely strong candidates haha

If you want a nearly-no-angst Hallmark-like story that will make you swoon and feel pure joy, you can dive into this whole series without fear!

Silas doesn't believe in happily-ever-afters, despite (and in part because of) his job as a wedding planner. Jaded by his job and a previous relationship, he relies on hookups, until the Matchmaking Mamas finally wear him down. After a fantastic date with Bryson, he is horrified to discover that Bryson is the groom for a wedding Silas is planning... or is he? While it turns out Bryson is a twin, Silas still isn't sure if he can let his walls down, or hold on to his heartbreak forever.

This book was a cute and fluffy read. After reading the first two books in the series and finding Silas a bit mean, I was interested to see how he evolved over the story. While I didn't agree with his beliefs about divorce being a failure, I enjoyed watching him open up and let Bryson in. I loved how competent he was at his job, and the story of Caitlyn and Branson's wedding. Bryson was such a caring and thoughtful character, and their chemistry was really sweet. The cast of side characters from previous novels was fun without being too overwhelming (especially if you haven't read all of the other books like I have). I did feel that their conflict was leading up to a more dramatic climax which felt very quickly resolved given Silas' reluctance the entire novel, but I respect that the author was going for lower angst and I was very pleased about a lack of a third act breakup.

If you're looking for a fun, light, and quick read, I recommend checking out this book and the others in the series. Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I knew it would take a special man to sweep Silas off his feet, and Bryson was exactly the kind of Prince Charming to open up even the most jaded heart. Their romance was an utter delight -- sweet and swoony with plenty of small town charm to make me giggle. Silas had convinced himself he was done with love, but even he was blown away by how romantic his and Bryson's first date was. For some people, that would have been all they needed to set off on an epic relationship, but Silas needed more time to convince himself that Bryson was nothing like his ex. I adored watching Bryson win him over one date at a time, and with the backdrop of ongoing weddings, there was plenty of love in the air to go around. Bryson was a total sweetheart, patient and willing to go at whatever pace Silas needed. It was hard not to fall in love with the idea of their relationship long before they acknowledged they were in one, and I just genuinely enjoyed watching them spend time together. I don't think I ever had a moment where I seriously doubted they'd end up together, not even when meddling family members got involved or old flames showed back up. For me, it was always Bryson and Silas, and it made me so happy to see their sweet love declarations and get a little glimpse at their happily ever after.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.

Perfection! Our broken hearted Silas finally got his own HEA. It’s about time that after helping countless others fulfill their dream weddings, he too had a chance to plan his own.

From the previous books, Silas came off as someone who didn’t really care about love or commitment. Now we know it was totally the opposite. He loved too hard and got burned by it. His ex pulled such a jerk move on him🤬

Bryson had a similar experience but his heart wasn’t jilted the way Silas’s was. He still believed in romance and finding the right man and when he was set up with Silas, he just knew he was it for him.

But when Silas thought he had been played again, he reverted back to the hookups only Silas because that was safer than letting his heart steer him wrong again. Bryson made him feel too much too quickly and he wasn’t ready for that.

But Bryson wasn’t ready to lose Silas. He was willing to wait however long it took for Silas to understand Bryson could make him the happiest man alive. He was determined to show Silas what a fool his ex was for letting him go.

I loved that Bryce gave Silas the space he needed to decide how far he wanted their relationship to go. He wanted Silas to choose being with him because he wanted to, not because Bryson pressured him.

This has been such a feel good series. Each couple has been so much fun to read. If this is the last book, it closed beautifully 🥰

I adored Silas as a side character in the first two books of this series (Meddling with Maverick and Hounding Hank) so I was really looking forward to seeing him finally meet his match and fall in love. I knew he was the kind of guy who, once he fell, would fall hard.

Also, mistaken identities is hands-down my absolutely favorite trope, and in this book D.J. Jamison gives us mistaken for his TWIN. YESSSSSSSSSSS. *delighted cackle* I loved the instant chemistry between Silas and Brysen, especially since Silas only agreed to go on ONE date to get the meddling Matchmaking Mamas off his back, expecting it to just be a write-off and go back to his hook-up lifestyle. And then - surprise! Bryson. *swoon* Poor skittish Silas has been burned before (and badly), and Bryson's got his work cut out for him to sweet-talk this non-believer in fairy tale endings into learning to trust (and love) again.

This is the third book in the Matchmaking in Granville series. While it can technically be read as a stand-alone, I feel like you get more of the impact of Silas' personality and commitment-phobia if you read the series in order. (Plus, the first two books are also really good, so go read them!)
Note that this series is a sort-of spin-off of / interconnected with some of D.J. Jamison's other series, notably the Games We Play series and reference to some of the Swallow Cove folks, and characters from some of the other books show up in this one.

As a wedding planner Silas believes in love for others but doesn’t for himself after his ex left him at the altar. He agrees to his grandma’s desire to match him through her and her friend’s app, and he meets Bryson.

When Bryson meets Silas he kind of swoons, and he’s planned an unusual romantic date. It makes Silas consider getting to know him better after their night together, until Bryson is the groom at his next wedding planning meeting.

It’s actually Branson, Bryson’s twin who’s just arrived in town, but Silas won’t believe it until the bride vouches for the twins, and even then he agrees to plan the wedding but is scared off dating Bryson.

The bride and groom have Bryson come into their appointments and Silas gets to see that he’s a nice guy, helpful and honest, and he doesn’t give up on Silas, agreeing to keep things casual and go slow.

Eventually Silas comes around and they become boyfriends, with the confidence that they can make it together as a couple.

This was a fun story with the twin twist, but it lacked some warmth but was more sappy and also too fast. Still a nice read.

I received this ARC for free and am glad to give my honest review of the book with thanks.

What a great story!

I absolutely loved this book! The tale of Silas and Bryson is filled with love, laughter, great friends and family and is an absolute joy to read! Silas is planning the wedding for Bryson’s twin brother Branson and his bride to be Caitlyn. Bryson is the best man and when he gets matched by the Matchmaking Mamas with Silas, he’s all in. Silas agrees to go on the date to pacify the Mamas, one being family, but he’s been burnt before and has sworn off love and relationships. But Bryson is the perfect gentleman and he has Silas feeling things he never wanted to feel again. Things are a bit rocky in the beginning but Bryson is willing to take whatever Silas will give him if it means he can be near him. It isn’t until the wedding, when Branson has a little talk with Silas that he realizes the truth about his feelings for Bryson. He agrees to take that final step to close the distance between them and enter into a relationship that ends up being perfect for them both. I love how Bryson’s persistence and patience pays off and he manages to win Silas’s heart in the end!

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Then I meet Bryson. As if he stepped out of a movie, he sweeps me off my feet. He's gorgeous, sweet, romantic--and so very sexy. Despite my reservations, I agree to a second date and start to wonder if maybe I could have more with the right guy.

Until he shows up to a wedding consult the next day.

With his bride.

I'm horrified to be taken in so easily. How could I have doubted, for even a second, that love wasn't for me? I was the guy who got jilted at the altar. I didn't get fairytale endings.

Only... now I'm getting texts and calls telling me that Bryson has a twin.

An identical twin.

But if Bryson's not the groom, is he really the amazing guy he seemed to be when we met? For better or worse, it seems I'm about to find out.

If I'm going to risk my heart again, this man has some serious sweet-talking to do.

What a fun, feel-good romance. The whole mistaken identity setup with the twin could have easily turned frustrating, but instead it made for a really entertaining and surprisingly sweet story.

Silas was easy to root for. After everything he’d been through, his hesitation around love and happy endings felt believable, especially considering he literally works in the wedding industry surrounded by romance all the time. Watching Brysen slowly break through those walls with patience, charm, and a lot of sweet-talking was honestly adorable.

I also loved the rom-com energy throughout the book. The Matchmaking Mamas were chaotic in the best way, and the small-town atmosphere made everything feel cosy and warm. There was humour, chemistry, a bit of emotional vulnerability, and just enough drama to keep things interesting without becoming too heavy.

Overall, this was a really charming read that left me smiling by the end, and I loved getting another glimpse into the Granville world. Such a great series

"He didn't push. Didn't demand that I admit I wanted him to kiss me. He let me go.
I wasn't sure which was worse."

Thank you, @author_dj_jamison & Neon Rainbow, for my copy of Sweet-Talking Silas, the 3rd Matchmaking in Granville book. Silas has been known as the hook-up wedding planner who wasn't interested in love throughout this series & I loved finding out his why. Sweet-Talking Silas can be read as a standalone but I would definitely at the minimum read the earlier books in the Matchmaking in Granville series.

Bryson is new to Granville & is set up by the Matchmaking Mama's with a reluctant Silas. Their first date is goals & ends with Silas agreeing to a second date. Then we have a case of mistaken identity that has Silas pulling away. Bryson is determined to win Silas' heart but he is respectful of his boundaries which just melted my heart. Sweet-Talking Silas is full of heart, hope, heat & concludes with a HEA.

Sweet Talking Silas is the third in the Matchmaking in Granville series, and probably my favorite. Silas has a lot of baggage, and romance isn't in the cards for him. That is, until he lets the Marchmaking mama's set him up on their site after they pushed him into it. He's matched up with Bryson, who sweeps him off his feet, and Silas has no way to process that. Bryson never told him he had an identical twin brother, Branson. So, when Silas shows up to his next planning appointment and sees Branson, he thinks it's Bryson and spirals. Bryson spends the time helping his brother plan his wedding and trying to break through the walls that Silas has put up.
This novel was sweet and charming, and Bryson was very patient with Silas. The added novelty of the matchmaking mamas and the mixing up of the twins added the right amount of humor. Overall, a great read, and I would highly recommend reading this series.

The Matchmaking Mamas are at it again. This time they set up wedding planner Silas with new-to-town Bryson.

Silas & Bryson go on their blind date, hit it off, but Silas decides it's just a hook-up (he's been left at the altar before and he doesn't date). Not long after, Bryson shows up with his wife-to-be at Silas' wedding planning office for a meeting. Well, Bryson's got a twin, and it's Branson who shows up, but Silas doesn't know that and it takes a bit for the truth to surface. It's a bit of a slow burn (emotionally, not physically) to their HEA.

Cute, sweet, easy, quick read. Plenty of spice. Lots of characters from other Jamison books, but you don't have to know that to make sense of this one (I recommend you read them, though - I have yet to find a Jamison book I didn't like & I've read quite a few). Despite some unhappy background issues for both the mains, it's not super angsty.

Loved this book, looking forward to more.

The Matchmaking Mamas strike again, matching newcomer Bryson with Granville’s wedding planner extraordinaire (& jaded anti-relationship fling expert) Silas.

Bryson is immediately romance overload, to the point where I was struggling to suspend disbelief. Then there’s the whole confusion when client Caitlyn’s fiance winds up being Bryson’s identical twin brother, Branson.

Add in the twins’ brother, Bolton, and All the B’s got confusing.

When Silas finally falls, he’s all in and the promised HEA is pretty sweet, but overall, I think this was my least-favorite of the series. Bryson was so intense and Silas so cynical and cagey; then there were the ex’s and it all came off as a little too cute. Don’t get me wrong, Jamison can’t seem to craft a bad story….its just these characters seemed a little less believable to me than usual. I still appreciated the cameos and locales from this and other of the author’s series, and the ultimate bond these two shared. 4 stars.

Third in series (Matchmaking in Granville), but can be read as a standalone. Small town. Found family. Dual POV.

Silas has been burned in the past, so he only does casual hookups. Cornered into a matchmaking date, he has a swoony first date with Bryson and sparks fly. But even as Silas refuses to start a relationship, Bryson refuses to give up on their possible special connection.

Bryson and Silas have a very quick start to their mutual attraction and Bryson is sweet not pushy in his pursuit of Silas. I certainly sympathized with Silas and his reasons for avoiding love, and appreciated Bryson believing SIlas was the one for him. The secondary characters are fun and supportive and there are some very sweet moments from some of the couples that show Silas that love could be possible for him again. Plenty of steam and instances where having a twin provides some humor (and problems). A nice addition to this series.

This was such a fun read! All 3 of the books in this series had a fun rom-com vibe which I really enjoyed. Jamie, Maverick and Silas have a great friendship and I love the great banter between them. It was fun to revisit Granville, see some familiar faces and also get to see Silas finally get his happily ever after.
I loved Silas and Bryson's first date, Bryson made it special and romantic, and for once the Matchmaking Mama's got it right! I loved their banter and how well they hit it off. I loved how patient Bryson was, while also showing Silas that he's there and still interested. Silas just needed a partner with whom he could relax with and not problem solve and Bryson was definitely the person for that job. I loved how their feelings sneakily snuck up on them.

This was a great end to this series. I laughed, I swooned and had an absolute great time reading Silas and Bryson's story.

This was such a great ending to this series. It had all of the small-town warmth and chaos that DJ Jamison does so well and, as always, delivered the sweetest HEA. There was a chance that the mistaken-identity storyline could have been too far over the top, but it was handled perfectly.

I enjoyed getting a peek into Silas' reticence for relationships, and with his past, it's understandable why he swears off relationships. It would have been easy to make Bryson too overbearing and pushy, but he met Silas where he was, and he only took what Silas would give until he was ready to give more. And watching Silas' walls start to fall as he spent more time with Bryson was sweet and I found myself rooting for the two of them.

Saying goodbye to this friend groups is tough, but I suspect they will make an appearance in other books and I can't wait!

4.25/5 This was another sweet addition to this series. I found Silas’s about-face from his established “no emotions, no attachments” a little quick in his opening interactions with Bryson (but I know this was the set-up for the misunderstanding that followed). I liked Bryson’s patience and willingness to accept Silas as he is. The connection between them feels real, and the pursuit is gentle enough that I felt sure if Silas had given an actual “back off”, Bryson would have done so.

Silas has reasons for his hang-ups, so while I occasionally got a bit impatient with him, his reactions made sense given where he was coming from. I enjoyed seeing the other happy couples in Granville, including Branson and Caitlin. The Matchmaking Mamas have some kind of skills, lol.

I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
