A year later, despite owning a security company built around finding people, Atlas can't find the one person he desperately wants back.
Meanwhile, Emily Carter wakes up in a hospital with no memory of the past year. Her boyfriend, Trevor Sinclair, insists everything is fine while refusing to answer the questions she desperately needs answered. As Emily struggles to reclaim her independence, a chance encounter with a stranger awakens feelings she can't explain. When that stranger mistakes her for someone else, curiosity turns into obsession, and Emily begins following him, convinced the answers to her fractured past are somehow tied to his life.
What begins as Can You See Me? slowly transforms into Do I Even Know Who "Me" Is? Fate, obsession, buried memories, and long-hidden truths steadily collide until the connection between Emily, Maizyn, and Atlas finally begins to surface.
Midnight writes Emily with raw conviction, humor, and enough self-awareness to know she exists, but not enough to believe she's worthy. She is completely unreliable in exactly the ways amnesia demands, making her instantly relatable and easy to connect with. She's...normal. Well, until the stalking begins.
Her trauma and fractured memories fuel every page. Her struggle with self-worth and the pressure to become someone she was never meant to be pull readers into an emotionally layered journey. Atlas becomes the center of her fixation, the one person she can't stop chasing despite not understanding why. While he initially comes across as broody and controlling, his motivations gradually reveal a man who isn't nearly the villain readers are led to believe. His determination to get Emily back is almost laughable at times, but his restraint deserves credit.
Trevor...ugh. I have plenty of names for him, but none of them are fit for print without getting flagged. LOL. From the moment Emily wakes up, he weaponizes her memory loss, gaslighting and manipulating her while clinging desperately to control over her life. Gavin doesn't receive much page time, but his presence proves more important than it initially appears.
Can You See Me? is a ticking time bomb waiting for someone to light the final inch of fuse. The opening moves at a measured pace, carefully laying the foundation before everything detonates. Once the momentum shifts, readers are swept into a fast-paced psychological thriller with a dark romance woven seamlessly through it. It's moody, spiraling, heartbreaking, redemptive, and freaking fantastic. The transitions between buried memories and the present create exactly the kind of friction this story needs, delivering those glorious WTF moments that keep you glued to the pages.
Overall, I absolutely loved the storyline and characters. The morally gray cast, obsessive slow-burn tension, and dark romance all worked incredibly well together. There were a few brief moments where I felt a slight disconnect between the story and its characters, but they were fleeting and difficult to pinpoint. It may have simply been a "me" thing, but if you experience it too, let me know because I'd genuinely love to compare notes. Regardless, this one kept me reading far past my bedtime...and by "past my bedtime," I mean until I finished the entire book in one sitting.

Once I started this book, I didn't put it down until I was done. It's a page turner. You just have to keep going to see what's going to happen next.
This book is just downright, fantastic. I have never tagged so many places in a book before. But there is just so much to want to remember in this book.
For instance: "I wish I could flip that switch in my brain controlling my emotions and turn them off, but I think she broke it the day she stormed into my life."
Or(this one made me laugh): "Sadly, I can't quit my job and become a full-time stalker. It doesn't pay the bills."
So this story follows Maizyn, who turns out to actually be Emily, our FMC. She is also known as Chaos. She is a strong woman who struggles with amnesia, and she's trying to figure out who she is because one man claims to be her boyfriend, but she can't stand his touch. Then she bumps into a stranger, and her body recognizes and craves his touch.
Atlas is our MMC he owns a security business. He has craved Maizyn/Emily's touch since the day he lost her, even though she isn't aware of it. He searched everywhere for her after he realized she was missing, but she doesn't know that either.
Trevor is Emily's boyfriend he's controlling in the way he expects her to dress and be. Then, he's also emotionally abusive. He's manipulative and murderer.
The characters in this book are emotional and chaotic and tense, and it's freaking beautiful.
This will have you turning pages faster than your eyes can track. I definitely recommend it, but first check your trigger warnings.

This is a great read. Tragedy, love, and heartbreak all in the first few chapters.
We first meet Atlas and Maizyn, she comes to him angry because she found a tracker on her phone, she storms out and she goes missing. Gone *poof*
Next we meet Emily, she's just your average girl. Yet no one seems to notice her, like she's invisible. She woke up in the hospital with no memory of the past year. Her boyfriend, Trevor, tells he was picking her up from a surgery and the doctors said memory loss can sometimes happen with anesthesia. She has two safe spaces, the bakery where she works and the bookstore next door to it, which they let her have a little nook in. She questions her relationship with Trevor, gives her a bad feeling, and he won't answer her questions or gaslights her about her past.
On the way to work Emily collides with Atlas as he's coming out of the bookstore, he thinks she looks like Maizyn. She panics and hurries off to work, Atlas confronts her about Maizyn, but she's confused because she doesn't know him or who Maizyn is. She goes home after work and keeps thinking of him, wondering if he might have the answers she is seeking about the past year. So let the stalking begin, she wishes for a "Stalking for Dummies" book more than once. Atlas keeps having this feeling that he's being watched, so he enlists the aid of his partner at work, Gavin, to help find out who it is. He catches her and they start to make it a game now. They go on a date, then another time she wants him to chase her through the woods with a mask on. She tries to get away from Trevor, but he's on the lease of the apartment.
Atlas isn't the only one being stalked though. Trevor is stalking Emily, he's the reason she left and changed her name. He's the reason Atlas put the tracker on her and he's the reason she remembers nothing of the last year. As Emily tries to get free of him, he just clings tighter and tighter. Emily and Atlas get closer and he asks her to move in to help her get free of Trevor. He wonders if she'll hate him when she gets her memory back, because of the secrets he's been keeping.
Then there is some kidnapping and memories returning, questions asked and answered. And some other stuff thrown in. All in all it's a great book, I'd give it a 4.5 if i could. Would very much recommend.

Omg this book was so good. I was drawn to the book, due to the yellow cover, so to know that the colour yellow has significance in the book was a bonus! Even if it caused me heart break at time.
That is exactly what the book did, it broke my heart over and over and then put it back together again and I loved every minute of it. I wasn’t sure what to make of Atlas at first, but quickly came to love him despite his need for extreme control, ultimately his lust for some lack of control drew him to Maiyzn and I loved her from the beginning, I loved her chaos even if it wasn’t always helpful but I am just always drawn towards characters who are unapologetically themselves.
This book is a fast paced slow burn second chance with a lot of heart wrenching moments, tension, humour and some really beautiful moments between MCs. Of course there is also plenty of spice and it is so gooood! I really liked Maiyzn and Atlas together, despite being opposite in many ways they have great chemistry and I ate up all their moments together.
I am never sure if I am going to like an amnesia story but this was done really well, although occasionally I thought that Maizyn should have been able to figure out she must have known him before or been a bit more suspicious of it, but overall it was just a minor thought in the back of my mind. This book would be an easy one sitting read, it flows so well and has a satisfying ending, though I feel like I have been tricked into thinking it wasn’t a cliff hanger, I guess I will find out with the next one. The only real side character is Gavin, I really liked him and want to learn more about him.

I wasn’t expecting Can You See Me by Can You See Me? to get under my skin the way it did.
This book feels chaotic in a very intentional way. The main character isn’t polished or easy to understand, and that’s honestly what made the story so interesting to me. She embraces the parts of herself that most people would try to hide, and the story doesn’t try to make her softer or more “acceptable.”
What stayed with me the most was the idea of wanting someone who truly sees you — not the version of you that’s easy to love, but the complicated and intense parts too. That theme runs through the entire story and gives the darker moments a lot more emotional weight.

LOVED IT! This story had it all for me: flawed, troubled characters, suspenseful moments & much more. It was a total hit! And that certain scene... You know the one, DM. 🤭 It was absolute chef's kiss. I had to tell her bravo because it was yummy in all the right ways.

This book was absolutely beautiful story to read. It truly takes you on a journey throughout its pages. It was so much more than I was expecting and I loved it so much. I could feel the turmoil and the tension and the heartbreak and the care. Every emotion was pulled out of me at one point while reading this book. There is so much chaos and heat to this story. And I couldn’t get enough of it. And the way this book ended left me completely feral for book 2.

I blew through this book. For D.M.'s debut novel I loved this book. Atlas is dedicated and I'm glad he can at least recognize his faults. Maze didn't deserve to go through that trauma. Even though her decisions were less than admirable. I enjoyed the restrain Atlas showed and I loved the brat Maze was. I look forward to more from D.M. Midnight!

I felt I related to the FMC so well. She is bratty, but also doesn't have any confidence. Her mental health isn't the best. She gets to find herself with the MMC. It also it suspenseful.
You should definitely read this if you like her being the stalker or a good chase me through the woods scene. 😉 😜.

I really enjoyed this book. The fact that Atlas knew he made mistakes and spent most of the book making them right *swoon*. The story and plot were good. And not what you would normally expect. I’ll be keeping an eye out for book two for sure.
