Behind the The Journey So Far is an honest reflection on creativity, connection, and finding your voice in a noisy world.
Founded in 2024, the Behind the Camera podcast grew from a simple idea into over 100 conversations with creators, artists, and storytellers from around the world. But behind the interviews was a journey of its own.
In this book, Andrew “AndyGames” Houghton takes readers behind the scenes of starting the podcast, navigating burnout, learning the responsibility that comes with a microphone, and making difficult decisions along the way. Drawing entirely from personal experience, this is not a how-to guide, but a reflective look at what happens when you stop chasing numbers and start chasing meaning.
Whether you’re a podcaster, a creative, or someone searching for clarity during a period of change, Behind the The Journey So Far is a reminder that every conversation leaves its mark, especially the ones you have with yourself.
This was so fun to read and really insightful! Andy is a wonderful person with his heart in the right place when it comes to people and his passion, and this book reflects this.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. As someone that watched Andy’s transition from streaming to podcasting in real time it was so interesting to hear about what went on in the background, the reasons behind it and the hardships that accompanied. You never truly know someone from the way they show themselves online and I think that’s one of the beauties of this book being able to delve deeper into the story of the podcast which reflects into the whole premise of the podcast and the guests.
This book is admirably honest, it’s personal and constructive. It’s about so much more than a podcast. Andy is a natural and it was truly lovely to read his journey and passion for storytelling.
I truly recommend this book to anyone that is interested in podcasting, streaming or just content creation. There js so much that is explored and you’ll relate in ways you won’t expect.
This is just the beginning I’m so excited to see what comes next.
I stayed up to late to read this worthwhile book. As an author and podcaster, I found this book encouraging, helpful and engaging to read. Would totally recommend it to other creatives and podcasters.
