Oh my goodness this was such a cute read. And honestly not what I was expecting going in to this. It doesn’t follow the typical secret billionaire trope lines. Jax had been broken and shattered in ways that no one in his life really understands. He feels damaged and as if he destroys all good things that come in to his life. Enter Ava and Violet. They are nothing but good. Ava refuses to let people down. Violet trusts when others are wary. They see the good and kind in the gruff man of the mountains, even when he refuses to see it himself. The background story for Jax is heartbreaking. But the story he’s given in the present is heart-mending. Ella makes us invested in the characters, all of them, from the first page. And the ending is honestly just perfect for this story.
When an avalanche hit the south ridge, Jax is caught in the middle and is covered in the snow. Ava with her equipment as an EMT manages to find and get him to the rangers station. Already we start with the fear of his survival, but he still has more to accomplish. Ava and her daughter are life dependent on the clinic's assistance for medical aid for Violet, but the damage from the avalanche creates a crises. This was such a wonderful change to my reading list after the week before and despite the worries for the community, it was a lighter read and one I could fully enjoy. I received a copy from BookSprout and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Falling for the Secret Billionaire By Ella Brinkley ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Closed door
Our MMC Jax was searching for an avalanche and got buried. He was holding on to something from the past. Our FMC Ava the EMT sent out to find who might be stuck on the mountain in the avalanche. Her daughter Violet is freaking adorable, she’s diabetic and I love this line “Prick me, O Mighty One.” This story was such a cute, sweet and emotional ride. A definite 4 star closed door romance read. Thank you to Ella Brinkley for letting me read this story. Can’t wait for more.
Jax is running from a painful past and secrets. Ava is trying to hold her world together and make it a better place for her daughter who struggles with diabetes. A storm forces them together. This is the second book by this author that I have read (I bought them on a $.99 sale). As with the other book, the characters would have a makeout (or more) scene and then he would push her away and pretend she doesn’t exist. Then she did the same. That happened over and over throughout the book, it got to be really annoying how often it happened.
Content courtesy: Death of adult and unborn baby. Mild language and fades to black scenes. Casual bedroom life.
She saved his life but he wasn’t thankful. She and her daughter needed a place to stay during a storm. Slowly they chipped away at the ice around his heart. He’s a billionaire in hiding and when the truth comes out he has to make a decision - become the man he used to be or just stay hidden. They work through the ups and downs and finally decide to give love a chance. I really enjoyed this book.
Ava gets called out in a snow storm to find someone who got caught in an avalanche. Jax deliberately got caught and didn’t want to get found. This is a sweet, clean heartwarming romance. Really like Ava and Jax but Violet is the scene stealer. My favorite parts were when Violet gave Jax a picture she drew for him and when Jax went out in a blizzard to find Violet. I really liked this book and I think anyone who reads it will like it too.
This was an enjoyable read, but with one exception. It was too short. Not enough character development. Not enough content to bri ng out the nuances of small town living. I'm not even sure it was worth the bother to write in the attempted invasion of privacy by a member of the pap. It was still well worth five stars. I recommend this short story for a quick read.
DNF 54% - I struggled to feel the connection between the two main characters. Why did she continue to stay in his cabin after the storm was finished? Why is she all up in his business when he is essentially a complete stranger? I would say this is more of a Grumpy/Sunshine than Enemies to Lovers.
This was an easy read that kept me turning pages with the depth of characters. Jax may have a complicated history but Ava doesn’t give up easily. Their connection grows so easily when they are forced together. I loved how they complement each other providing strength for the other’s weaknesses.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was such a cute story with a bit of suspense in it as well! An easy and enjoyable read, I read it in one day! I'll be looking up the authors other books as well!
This was such a sweet and romantic book. I was rooting for these guys. The fact that her daughter adored him ❤️ this was a quick read with a little bit of suspense. And I truly enjoyed this.
