Kat
Eleven years of marriage taught me my husband’s routines, his excuses, and his lies.
When his mask finally slips, I see the truth.
Trevor isn’t just unfaithful, he’s living a double life.
And then there’s Jett Dunnavant, his best friend. The man I was never supposed to notice.
He makes me feel alive in all the ways my husband doesn’t.
But when the threats start and shadows close in, every sign points to him.
The same man I can’t stay away from.

Dunny
She’s my best friend's wife.
Completely off-limits.
But Kat doesn’t see the danger she's surrounded by.
She doesn’t see the monster behind the mask.
I should keep my distance, but after one kiss, I’m in too deep.
Maybe she’s right to wonder—am I protecting her, or the reason she’s unraveling?

perfect tribute to abuse survivors

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️

Let me start by saying this is such a tribute to narcissistic abuse survivors that it affected me deep to my core.

When you have survived a narcissistic relationship like Kat endured- the years of conditioning, breaking down and gaslighting you feel for her on such a deep personal level that you are rooting for any ounce of happiness she can get her grasp on.

The dialogue was chillingly accurate and I really felt myself back in Kats shoes along with the doubt, confusion, and emotional olympics that it takes to regain your own voice back and reclaim your independence.

I devoured this story and it really had me reflecting on how far I had come in my own healing. Anyone who understands Kat’s pain cant help but fall head over heels for Kat and Dunny. You root for them the same way you rooted for your own happiness.

While this pulls back the curtain on the emotional toll of a narcissist who is mentally emotionally and spiritually abuse - it may not seem like the darkest read within this genre it is hauntingly accurate to how small and hopeless these victims feel. While they have a “ great” life on the outside the misery behind closed doors hits very close to home.

Kellie freakin’ Storm. Wow. This is it. This is the one. The one that left me on the edge of my seat. The one that left me begging for more. The one that truly captured my attention right from the start. And how lucky am I to have gotten to read it in the beta stage! Walking through this book and getting to pick your brain, was everything! The real, raw, emotion put into this story was phenomenal. It was done with such power and bluntness because let’s be real, there’s no sugar coating a horrible husband and life partner. I’ve never been a big reader of stalker romances because they make me nervous, but this one was done so well, while also filling in the gaps and not leaving me hanging! I truly loved watching Jett and Kat’s relationship blossom throughout the hardest times in Kat’s life. The way he always knew, always showed up and showed out, the way he LOVED Kat with actions rather than words. This was a raw, emotional story, one that highlights some extremely real scenarios that aren’t talked about enough - but Kellie wrote them with such grace and embraced the power of leaving even when it feels impossible. Watching Kat reclaim her life after living through lies and manipulation… was so empowering to see and so healing to watch come together… I even shed a few tears. Kellie, BRAVO MY LADY… you did the damn thing. You are strong. You are powerful. You are worthy. You are so loved. This book is your living breathing proof - YOU MADE IT! 🤍

I finished Crash Out in one sitting. I could not put it down. I needed to know WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!? Kellie Storm treats us to incredibly spicy romance, elements of mystery and a handful of “WHAAAAT THE HELL?!?” moments that will catch you by surprise.

This story made me feel seen in so many ways. Through some scenes of Mental Abuse - it felt as though Kellie Storm was writing about MY personally lived experiences. This book will make you feel ALLLLL the feelings associated with surviving an abusive relationship - the lows of making yourself feel small as to not rock the boat AND the highs that come with finding your inner strength to rise above.

I hope this books opens dialogue between women who have experienced this in their own relationships, helps them understand that they are not alone and causes women to realize that a happier live after surviving mental abuse is ABSOLUTELY possible.

This story was so beautifully written.

Crash Out had a really strong premise, but unfortunately, it just didn’t come together the way I hoped it would.

The idea of a toxic marriage mixed with a forbidden romance between a woman and her husband’s best friend had so much potential. And honestly, I wanted to love Dunny and Kat’s story. There were moments where the tension and emotion started to build… but then it just kind of fell flat.

My biggest issue was the plot. There’s this underlying mystery and sense of danger woven throughout the story, but it never really gets a satisfying payoff. At the end, I was left with more questions than answers, and it felt like major pieces of the story were missing. The lack of resolution made everything feel incomplete.

The characters were also frustrating at times. Trevor is clearly awful, which is fine, but his role and motivations didn’t feel fully explored. And Dunny… I couldn’t fully understand him or his choices, especially considering his loyalty to someone like Trevor.

Overall, the book had a lot of potential and some intriguing ideas, but the execution just didn’t deliver. Too many plot holes and not enough answers made this one a disappointing read for me.
