THAT FUCKING ENDING. THE MIND OF ANTOINETTE SHERELL !!!!
LISTEN, here is an author who takes the time to develop these complex characters while also addressing our questions and offering us more. Like, OMG, have me side-eyeing Kennedy toward the end with her choices. We all knew what Relics ending, but it was still amazing to witness how it unfolded in the last chapters. I mean, it was literally reveal after reveal. Relic is such a morally conflicted guy, and seeing him gradually crack for people he loves is always fascinating. To be honest, I still don't get Kennedy; she's just as mysterious and complex. I thought I had her figured out, and then she did something entirely different. Relic is always testing those close to him as a result of his trauma, but I'm beginning to understand him because it appears that he can only trust his lawyer at this time. I'm anxious about how intricate these characters are, but I adore them.

UGH, why would I torture myself and read this book at the beginning of the year? Now what am I to do?

THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE. 😈🔥

“Slow burn?” No—this is a controlled demolition that starts with a match strike and ends with the whole damn city on fire. The fact that it picked up like “oh you thought you were safe?” is criminal behavior. No recap, no hand-holding—just immediate emotional violence. Respect. 👊

Kennedy is absolutely CEO of Don’t-Try-Me Industries 👑💅. Sunglasses on, spine unbreakable, tears weaponized into silence? That’s not weakness—that’s strategy. She doesn’t need to scream. Walking away is her mic drop, and Relic felt that shit in his soul.

And RELIC—whew. 😤♟️
Man is a walking red flag factory with a PhD in psychological warfare. Those chess lectures aren’t philosophy; they’re threats in a tuxedo. He really said “people are pawns” and expected her to kneel? Sir. She flipped the board, pocketed the king, and left him spiraling like Wi-Fi with no signal.

Their dynamic is NOT romance.
It’s mutually assured destruction.
Every glance = a dare.
Every word = a loaded gun.
Every silence = a countdown. 💣

The best part? Kennedy doesn’t win by out-scheming him—she wins by not playing. And that drives a chaos-addicted ego like Relic absolutely feral. He needs reactions. She gives him absence. That’s a war crime. 😎🔥

Dark? Yes.
Toxic? Extremely.
Addictive? Like licking batteries. ⚡
Satisfying? In the most unholy way possible.

Two morally gray monsters colliding isn’t a love story—it’s a crime scene. And you don’t read it to feel good. You read it to feel something sharp.

10/10 emotional damage.
Would absolutely let it ruin me again. 😈🩸🔥

What can I say besides Antoinette Sherell has done it again. I love me some Kennedy. This book was well worth the wait. That ending left me speechless. Everytime I felt myself liking Relic a little he goes and remind me why I hate him. Can’t wait for the next book!!!

This story was good, the pacing was so tense. It was like being on a rollercoaster Waiting for the drop! Kennedy and Relic are truly a match made in Heaven, two Alpha dogs trying to submit but also keeping their walls up. Whew! The ending - like final 10% had my chest tight!! I cannot wait for the next one.

I'm sitting on pins and needles at that ending!
This may have been the absolute best book in the series. Action packed from the very beginning. So many breadcrumbs and I have a sneaky suspicion that while everyone is in their feelings about Kenn Dogg, my girl is playing the long game. I already know she knows how to get down. I trust her just the same as Relic. I can not wait for the follow up. And I have a sneaky suspicion that we all know and hate the random baby mama of Kennedys brother. And who his daughter is.

Antoinette Sherell! The pen game is cold! I really love Kennedy and hope she gets her happy ending, even if it’s with Relic. I went from hating Relic to feeling sorry for him, even though I probably shouldn't. This book was well worth the wait. That ending left me speechless. I can’t even tell who’s the villain anymore. Can’t wait for the next book!

I knew it

Man I ain’t never wanted to throw my device so bad in my life. Kennedy and Relic worked my nerves to the 10th power. However, Relics character development was top tier. I was really rooting for Kennedy to stay but the icing on the cake was Jahleel. I am an emotional wreck because I may have finally found a series that doesn’t end in a happy ending and honestly if anyone deserved a happy ending it was Relic. I’m so sad!

These twoooo!!!!!! omfggg stressing me tf out. The push and pull between them is like a damn riptide and we're all trapped in it, getting pulled under over and over and over and over again. Just drown me at this point bruh cause im TIEEED!

These Are My Observations | This Is Not A Review
You know...after reading these books for all these years (since 2023) and getting to "know" Relic, through the glimpses we got of him from Savvy and Shabu's perspective; the small peaks we got through Pierre and Treasure...When we finally got to see who he is from HIM, I really thought, oh yea this man is crazy, Kennedy needs to leave him alone. Completely understood the allure and the pull to ALL that BDE that could 1,000,000% be backed up, but I was like girl RUN.

After reading this book though. BOTH these motherfuckers are crazy! There were certain parts of the book where I was hoping and praying that they would work it out. That Kennedy could find it in her heart of hearts to somehow forgive Relic and continue to see the good in him that everyone besides Savvy overlooked. That she would show him that he was deserving of love and people that cared for him and looked out for him. But after reading that ending, I realized that Relic is unfairly getting all the bad rep, because Kennedy is just as sociopathic as he is. Relic is the one diagnosed with a dissociative disorder so what the hell is Kennedy's excuse for being ABLE to play in that mans face like that?!

These two irk my nerves soooo bad. They're both so busy playing this game of chess with everyone around them AND each other, that they haven't sat their asses down to realize that they both are hurt, guarded, damaged, and damaging everything that COULD be good between and around them. They're BOTH villains in their own story but keep projecting their own shortcomings onto each other and trying to predict and plan for every sing wrongdoing that the other is going to do to them before they do anything or are even thinking about doing anything. Its like, JUST STOP! and talk to each other and be HONEST like grown adults, jfc!

I'm DYING to see what Kennedy's next "move" is going to be...because despite it all...I really do want to see THEM come out on top but IDK if that's going to happen and honestly if it SHOULD happen, because as much as they are equally yoked and made for eachother in that they can both go tit for tat...that's not exactly HEALTHY. See...they got me all over the place with my feelings just like they are! UGGGGGHGHGHHGHGHGH!

This was a long wait

Ok so I love me some Relic. Out of everyone he is the one character who grew the most. He is so complex and someone who literally lives in the gray. Umm Kennedy was cool but it was like girl get it together…..
Yes she was cunning… Butttt idk she was too emotional at times. Her slip was showing a little too much.
Now the back and forth between him and Kennedy got old I won’t lie. And you can definitely tell the author was doing everything she could to stretch this story to another book. Because a lot of scenes were repetitive. Also them getting married was predictable and not shocking at all. But overall the story was good and had some really funny moments. I love when the entire group gets together because here will definitely be some laughs.

I knew Kennedy would end up turning on him and his family was right Relic allowed himself to be blind because he caught feelings and those feelings were outside of his realm. If Relic was paying attention he would have seen Kennedy showed her hand every time she got mad and spewed the hateful things she would say but Relic was too blinded by his feelings and for once he felt like he finally found his person. Yes, Relic was sneaky too but everything he did had a purpose.

Anyway I definitely recommend. As stated before the book had its repetitive moments and you can definitely tell the story is being dragged out a bit. But it was a good read.

Also this book had entirely too many grammatical errors. It took at least 6 months to be released during that time a good editor should have combed this. I had to deduct a star because the errors are a bit distracting,

You know... I've said it since Savvy and Shabu's first book and I'll say it again.... Relic is NOT as bad as he was made out to be.

I think Respectfully, Kennedy proved that. Does he still have his faults? Of course, everyone does. However, Relic has never claimed or pretended to be anything other than Relic. The complexity of this man is so intoxicating.

He's insane.
He's dangerous
He's problematic
but
He's thoughtful
He's actually freaking romantic
He's a protector.

And that "surprise" he had waiting for Kennedy after the show? He is THAT n*gga!

I'm not gonna lie, Kennedy annoyed me a bit. I mean, I understood her plight but are you mad or not? Do you forgive him or not? At the same time, I still loved her. She is in fact BIG DOG KENNEDY, and she really does match Relic perfectly. Sometimes a little too perfectly.

Jah is my little baby, he warmed my heart and had me side eyeing him a time or two because not you your daddy's son lol.

About 80% in my heart started pounding and would not stop because I knew "it" was coming. When it did happen, the pounding ceased but my heart broke... not only for Relic, but for Jah as well. Kennedy... meh, because why would you do that to him?

The ending... omg, the ending. I knew that necklace served a purpose. With that being said.... Shabu please don't piss me off.

In conclusion.... I could read five more books about Relic and never get tired of him. Nett Williams did her thing with this entire series and I'm impatiently waiting for the next installment.

From the second the book started, I was literally hooked.

From the second the book started, I was literally hooked.

I mean, I should have known that because Ms Sherell’s pen is unmatched. I’m literally in awe.

I made the fatal error of starting the book at 1am when I had early morning plans the next day. Safe to say, those plans were postponed.

The wordplay, storytelling, pace and dialogue is amazing. Every breadcrumb, connection and context that she’d set in prior books was expertly interwoven into this book which made it a perfect continuation.

Kennedy has dethroned my previous FMC by lightyears. Relic’s book inducted her but this book cemented her place.

The perfect amount of vulnerable, intelligent, flawed, sneaky, independent —— ugh, I love her.

Her and Relic’s dynamic had my head spinning throughout the entire book. Just when I thought I knew what was going on, the next chapter reminded me that I damn sure did not.

I would usually say, please hurry with the next book but if a long break is what is needed for this level of literary perfection?! - PLEASE take a year long cruise and rest those blessed hands (on second thoughts, maybe not a year 😩😅).

I have so many theories of what’s going to happen next but I’ll have to use my imagination in the mean time until the next book drops 😩

Thank you so much for sharing your art with us. Very appreciative and grateful.

Obsessed with Relic and Kennedy

I am so obsessed with how Kennedy and Relic’s relationship grew in this book. Kennedy is definitely a force to be reckoned with. I loved watching her move with so much strength throughout the story. It was also good to see her real side because even though people might try to paint her as a snake she really isn't. Seeing her deal with her own insecurities made her feel so much more human and relatable.

The connection between them is just so real. You could tell they both fought it so hard trying to keep their guards up and stay in their own lane but that bond was just too magnetic to ignore. They couldn't stay away if they tried, which makes me believe there’s still hope for the two!

But for real, Relic really stole the show for me this time. My heart literally broke for that man as his trauma started coming to light. Seeing all that pain he hides behind his tough exterior really made me see him in a different way. I just wanted to reach through the pages and give him a hug. I’m rooting for him so hard and I just want him to find the love and peace he deserves after everything he’s been through.

Antoinette Sherell’s writing is so raw and authentic. This book had the perfect mix of drama, heat, and heart. I need the next one like yesterday!

Kennedy
This was a very good read !! I read both books, relic, and Like Kennedy said, the game is to be sold not to be told. Love it.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾I’ve read relic book He Grew up with no love. with his fathers evil mindset, but that lead him to destruction. Convincing himself, he’s a king fantasy world controlling everyone around him treating women like trash with his money , activities Kennedy Appeared and shake things up around him and his crew. She has shown how loyalty trust, worthy, and love, however was there for a purpose. Her For revenge and peace for her brother Kennedy is young naïve so he thought. I knew she knew who relic was and he knew who she was.. He did a background check on her. She figure him out The long way, and she said she plays the long way in Chess She not only got him to fall in love with her she got millions of dollars For her pain and suffering, she deserves. Plan works. She beat him at his own game. she had a whole plan hire a good lawyer and got away from all the fake people Relic taken her for granted now he’s paying the price Checkmate✅✅🔥🔥🔥

Gahhhh! The many emotions I went through in this installment. I went from laughing out loud to crying to fanning myself to laughter again and then to heartbreak because the angst was out of this world. It was all so wonderful. Relic and Kennedy are something else. They really are both sides of the same coin. The way they match each other’s energy. Also, I love the real life chess match Relic and Kennedy were playing with each other. Seeing how their minds work, countering each other’s moves, but getting caught up in their feelings outside of the tactical plays. Mannn…and the chapter when he found out that she knew that he knew that she knew what he did. Whew…Heartbreaking. How the hell can they come back from this???? 😭 And that ending???? OMG. I don’t think I can PATIENTLY wait for the next book.

I stayed up most of the night ...

Goodness knows I read Disrespectfully, Relic enough to catch all of the breadcrumbs. I love how heavily Antoinette Sherell leaned into the Chess theme. This book is the novel length version of Spy vs. Spy. We, the readers, only know but so much. We ultimately do not know who to trust.
Kennedy and Relic are the embodiment of fireworks because they first have to explode in order for the beauty to flourish. I love how the heavy baggage each character carries is balanced with humor.
I truly can not wait for the finale and though I knew there would ultimately be three books, I am choosing to feel victimized by Antoinette Sherell. Why th does this lady write so damn good?!?!?

You can hate me but don’t leave me

You know the book good once it’s finish and you in shambles, idk if I’m sad, angry hell I’m just shocked because WTF???

Antoinette did her thing!!! To craft this complex a$$ story involving so many different moving pieces surrounding the same family and the story never feeling repetitive or rush kudos my girl kudos!!!

Big Dawg Ken and Relic (team Relic btw)ain’t play fair with how they did each other or us in this second installment. Seeing growth in Relic really made me happy cause my guy been through it in these book streets 😂😂

On the real the book is def worth the read and brace ya self because with the breadcrumbs Antoinette drop, ain’t nothing prepared me for this ending

Respectfully

Netty! Stop doing me like this girl! Where da rest? How long do I have to wait? Why do you want to torture me? …..
Ok to the review- you found a unique way to blend raw emotion, street realism, and unexpected plot twists into a captivating love story. But is it love or hate? The relationships are shaped by secrets, loyalty, and hard choices. The characters are well-developed with their own previous stories. They are flawed and it makes their connection feel intense and authentic. Nothing is predictable and that keeps the pages turning. If you enjoy urban romance with depth, passion, and suspense….start from the beginning and read my girl’s entire catalog as I have!

I’m disappointed

I stayed up all night on a work night trying to finish this book and yet I’m not finished. I have to wait againnnn ms author lady . Anyway, relic is growing on me.. Kennedy hmm .. i really need the ending here tomorrow. I do love Shabu but I don’t like that he wants to end his brother “partner” but Relic allowed him to have his situations with Whoop w/o threatening to end her regardless of how he felt. I get Kennedy might be a flight risk but idk i don’t think she’d stoop that low. Also you can see why Relic is the leader because look how Shabu spiraling & he told Whoop before hand she would get arrested when Relic told him not to.

Bruh this shit was sooo good! The way Antionette built this story, the layers of each character the game of chess being the undertone to every move they made, and yet the board is still full of potential plays! Relic went from the most hated MMC of all time to me rooting for him to beat this thing, be a more active father and finally experience his version of unconditional love!

That damn ending tho??????? I really hope we don’t have to wait for long bc the game of Big Dog Ken and Relic has me sitting on the edge of my seat! And I want to know will the king or queen be the last one standing on the board?

Is It Love?

Babbyyyy that's definitely a valid question! Is it love? Relic & Kennedy have found themselves in what outsiders could perceive is true love. Nah, the can lie to their self & each other, but they can't hide what their heart & soul yells at them! Guilt may have set it in place, then attraction to the uniqueness, then common interest, but above all respectful or not, they are connected more than they could ever imagine. When I say, "Relic had met his match..." chileeee that's putting it mildly. In every way, Kennedy is the female version of Relic & I can't wait for book 3 to bring us all home with Jah! 💜💚💛 💐👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Bonnie and Clyde

So many things to say about Kennedy and Relic. They are truly one and the same, it’s like looking in a mirror. Why couldn’t they just hash things out and let them walls stay down. They need to get out of their own way. The love is clearly hiding beneath all the games and manipulation.

That ending, Relic is clearly strategically inclined down to the last minute. So is Kennedy and I hope she’s lying and just said what she said to hurt him.

I feel like end the end Relic still chose Kennedy and himself. He pulled a Shabu on Shabu

Queen Pen!!! Love Kenn Dogg coming into her own, come out her depressed mode this entire series. Love her parents. What an ending! Relic can’t catch a break but neither can Kennedy! This enemy to enemy story amplifies EVERYTHING! The sex …… extraordinary!!! But they both love eachother but can can two petty people make a relationship work? I’m just confused about Shabu’s disdain for Kennedy, cause all the ladies are loose ends. Will Relic do time? Is Kennedy preggers? Is Jaz , Koda secret daughter? I need to know!

Blown away

Antoinette never disappoints ever, all the sleepless nights are always worth it when reading her books because once you start, they are impossible to put down. The characters are so well written and my emotions are involved. One minute I admire Big dog Kenn and the next I am all for her being put on ice. Please everyone read anything and everything written by Ms Antoinette Sherell because she is such a great Author and trust me, you’d enjoy your read. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

I don’t know when to start!

This book was beyond my expectations! Antoinette has done it again. Kennedy, Kennedy, Kennedy, baby that end took me where I didn’t want to go! I don’t believe that she won’t come back for Jah she loves him to much not too! Relic is deep in love with Kennedy but don’t know how to express it! Their relationship is one that cannot be described, their chemistry is so sharp. I really love them two together. Please hurry with part 2 I cannot take it lol. Great Job 💕

Excellent but a cliffhanger

If you are like me and want to read a finished sequel because sometimes can take years to follow thru-wait until this series is over!! It was a page turner but I am pissed that it didn't even get close to closing the loopholes and the answers! I was so happy a part 2 (and what I thought would be wrapped up) I forgot to check if it was a cliffhanger. But I highly recommend the best starting out 2026. Damn! I can't believe I fell for Relic and that Kennedy is Relic 2.0 baby!! Can't wait for part 3!!!
