Something Old, Someone Knew is the eighteenth book in The Mysteries of Blackberry Valley fiction series.
With only a few weeks left before Hannah Prentiss's wedding, she is stunned when Kimberly Borecki's bridal shop goes up in flames…along with Hannah's dream gown. While her fire chief fiancé, Liam, is busy investigating whether the fire was accident or arson, Hannah's father finds Hannah's mother's wedding dress tucked away in the attic. But far from solving all her problems, the dress introduces a new mystery when Hannah takes it to the bridal shop owner for alterations. According to the seamstress, that dress is Kimberly's family heirloom…so how did it end up in Hannah's family?
Meanwhile, Hannah is receiving anonymous wedding gifts, chosen with the care of someone who knows her deeply. But who could they be from, when all the usual suspects insist they know nothing about it? Past and present come together to remind Hannah, Liam, and all of Blackberry Valley that friendship and family run deep, and they are stronger together than they are apart.

I thought Hannah’s wedding would be in the next book of this series, but it was actually in this book which was a wonderful surprise! Hannah and Liam are really precious together and I’ve greatly enjoyed seeing their very clean, very sweet romance build throughout this series. I’ll admit that I wasn’t super into the mystery element of this book regarding the fire, but I enjoyed seeing all the wedding prep and details. I wish there was a picture of Hannah’s dress, though, as I had a hard time picturing the changes made to it. Overall, it was a really sweet story and I’m looking forward to the last four books of this series!
Something Old, Someone Knew is about Hannah and Liam finally getting married but before they can, Hannah's dress got ruined by the fire at the bridal shop. This intriguing mystery had plot twists, I enjoyed the dual timeline, and someone is leaving presents for Hannah. Those presents contained items that Hannah needed for her wedding. Well-crafted cozy mystery.
Loved this latest addition to the Blackberry Valley series! The mystery was intriguing, the characters were great, the plot twists were paced just right, and I needed tissues in hand a few times when the resolution of some issues brought tears to my eyes.
This was a cute installment as it showed the readers Hannah finally getting married. It was a long time coming and I was here for it. The mystery was also interesting and I found the resolution to be satisfying without too many loose ends.
