The hilarious, action-packed new graphic novel series about a crew of treasure-hungry Star Breakers and their accidental quest to save the universe. Perfect for fans of AMULET, FROSTHEART and RUNE aged 9–13.
Zeke Zero has been living his worst life ever since his dad traded him for a spare battery when he was a baby ...
Still, 13-year-old Zeke gets by. Or he did, until he ‘borrowed’ the wrong priceless star map and was forced to join a shoddy crew of STAR BREAKERS – brave (foolish) souls who dare to search dying worlds for (sometimes) incredible treasures.
Their first job? Finding an ancient god’s eyeball!! Unfortunately, the evil Grizelda 'Princess' Grim has her eye on it too. And Princess doesn’t share.
Locked in a race across the galaxy, Zeke and his crewmates, the grouchy Captain Tooms and mysterious Astrid of Elsewhere, will have to work together to dodge the monsters and mayhem – and discover a secret that puts the whole universe at risk …
Zeke Zero lives on a garbage planet, when he was left by his Dad many years before. Then he steals a map and ends up falling in with Star Breakers, space salvage crews who search dead planets for items that might be worth something, in search of a dead gods eyeball. This is absolutely top notch and one of the best books I’ve read all year. This is the next step on for Bunny v Monkey fans. The story is more complex and a touch more frightening. It is a really good sci fi story. I felt like I was reading an episode of a really great space opera like Firefly or TNG. That makes sense when you read that the writer has worked on TV shows. The illustrations are really slick too. Tis is one oof my top ten books of the year. Definitely worth picking up for younger readers and then reading yourself. Thank you to the publishers for a review copy of this book.
An excellent graphic novel space adventure, I had great fun reading this! Humour and action are balanced incredibly well, and the art style is wonderful. I was hooked from the very first page, where it jumps straight into the action and has a creative ways of integrating the world building without distracting from the plot. I would definitely recommend this as the next step up for kids who have been reading Bunny VS Monkey (and other books of a similar level) who want to challenge their reading. The humour is certainly laugh out loud funny!
Thank you very much to Puffin for the early reading copy. I had a blast!
What a fun wacky space adventure. Zeke gets himself into one pickle after another, but with fast thinking and new friends to help find their way out of the mayhem and mischief that appears as they cruise through space on the way to find a forgotten relic that will surely get them billions of credits or the top find in Star Breaker history.
This is going to be a great series to follow. Very entertaining.

Good book, I like that zeke’s best weapon is a flashbang, good how he is a hero/thief. Can’t believe that eye is evil and it sort of possesses people. I like that astrid is a super good fighter. I like the robot names- Robot is blue and gives bad advice while Other Robot gives good advice and is red. Plz read if u haven’t
